  1. This park has become so much better in the last few years! This new attraction, regardless of how tall or fast, will be a welcome addition!
  2. Paul Bunyan, Timber Tantrum, Timber Terror, Axiom, Loggers' Run, Rivertown Rampage, Water Moccasin, Rivendell, Chainsaw...
  3. So, I was thinking. In the classic game of Monopoly, when investing in a property's value (to generate higher revenue), players must exchange four smaller structures in order to place the large structure on that property. This is in the form of four little, green "houses," which are replaced by one large "hotel." That concept remains one of the most ingenious, yet educational rules of any game ever invented, as it parallels the reality of progress in the realm of economics. That being said, the original Funnel Cake stand (and its adjacent patio) is one little, green house. Pray tell, do you suppose that perhaps the Kings Island & Miami Valley Rail Road might represent another such "small" token? How about Whitewater Canyon?" ...just another angle from which to enrich the decoding fun that is this remarkable thread (and even more remarkable community)!
  4. Okay, you engineers, artists, mechanics, electricians, enthusiasts and artisans from around the sphere of all disciplines: let the educated conjecture begin! EDIT -
  5. Hmmm... Barrels are made by Coopers. The new ride is going to be near Diamondback. The Arizona Diamondbacks play in Phoenix. Alice Cooper owns a baseball-themed establishment in Phoenix. ...The new ride is going to be called "Kevin Bacon!"
  6. I didn't mean to come off as sarcastic; just having fun banter. I'll read up on Tigris, which I'm glad you've shared with us! Like I said when we all had that awesome conversation around appetizers and wings at RHOFG on opening day: "We're like a big family of Kings Island fans, and we sometimes go off on fun tangents in order to offset the sheer excitement, anticipation and anxious waiting for new news around exciting, new attractions here." From me, it will never be meant in a negative light towards anyone.
  7. Remember some of the wild ideas when we were decoding 2014? Our tiger-themed idea had only the wings of imagination...
  8. In just fifteen minutes: One member of the KIC community will welcome atom to KIC!
  9. Wow. I'm really, really starting to appreciate the beloved sound of our train whistles! I think I'd better get some good-quality recordings of them this season!
  10. Excellent post, Dwight_Schrute! An amusement park should have a distinctive, other-worldly feel to it when you enter. A simple change to symphonic music (movie themes are fine, and the same ASCAP/BMI license covers movie themes the same way as it does Justin Timberlake, Twenty-One Pilots or Ruth B. (I do events for my company, and believe me, licensing is NOT genre-based)... As mentioned above - I think a little bit of minor theme touches, a'la Banshee, will add that special 'feel' back to the park. The music, I think, has some kind of commercial benefit; some background --albeit perfectly legitimate -- deal that sells the music through self-advertisement, which comes back in some form of some kind of monetary advantage, which likely makes 'business sense.' "Hey, guys, we get thousands of young people in our park everyday. They likely all have phones, and those phones have Shazam! We'll blast out the top 45, the memorable soundtrack of their visit; they'll buy the music, all for X% or $Y. Deal?" -Just a thought.
  11. Epic. Just amazing! Real tears of joy here, and I mean it! A mere "like" doesn't do it justice.
  12. I've thought "Little Miami Splashdown" would be a cool name for it. I even came up with a new sign (The splash would have to be made out of a product like Lucite, and would be lit at night with blue and white LEDs that would cause it to shimmer). Something like this would add local flavor to the ride, and would add just a touch of theme on par with the Banshee sign... enjoy!
  13. Bring-a-Friend Free Day, 2004. The line to The Vortex was to the Coney Designated Smoking Area next to Antique Cars (now BLSC) at around 6:30 PM.
  14. The Bat – Orange Gun Shake, Rattle & Roll – “Spirograph, the Experience!” WindSeeker – “Pink Floyd’s Light Show, The Ride” Red Racer – Emmet Fitz-Hume Blue Racer – Austin Millbarge Drop Tower – System of a Down Eiffel Tower – Rustbubble’s Revenge The Vortex – Chiropracturion! Diamondback – Reptile Cage White Water Canyon – “Rainbow Kraken, and the Legend of the Coin-Rich Madman”
  15. I'd rename "Race For Your Life, Charlie Brown" to "Camp Remote," because it's already painted on a much-larger sign than the entry sign of said attraction, and has fewer syllables.
  16. I'm 47, and enjoy "marathoning" coasters with the same gusto as when I was in my 20s. I had to commit to strict dietary and exercise routines, overcome overeating and an addiction to carbonated beverages, as well as learn to stay hydrated (huge factor!), but it is what it is, and now, at least at my age, I can say that younger coaster warriors can look to this benchmark with 'hope' of a long future of coaster enjoyment (all things considered). The key: Stay fit! (Coasters are an amazing incentive; however, having a beautiful girlfriend who happens to be an Arizona Corrections Sergeant has been a great inspiration, I must say! )
  17. Double post. I'll take advantage of the opportunity to say Awesome Origins today at 1:30. Absolutely perfect! Have a nice day!
  18. Going to be hot today. 90° F expected. Cap'n Thrillbeard sightings have been reported.
  19. That's a nice spot for a Ferris wheel. A, ...um, ...proven spot, too.
