  1. Something that blends ride and live entertainment... like the ultimate haunted/funhouse coaster, with enclosed brake runs featuring 'Team Iluminate' style shows that grab your attention right before the ride plummets you into the next 'phase'... something that uses mad LED visuals that can be changed so that no two rides are the same... $$$ yes, but I think it would be fascinating.
  2. Hey! I have friends and family that live in Clevelasportburgh! Stop it! Maybe they're avid recyclers, and just can't pass up the opportunity...
  3. It went into the blended fabric of memory, which as the years go by, will seem to fade into one, big, endless summer that you'll return to again and again.
  4. There is another way to look at this, but I don't want to risk crossing the 'political' term-of-service rule. Let me say it like this: A man has the largest swingset in the world in his backyard. Then, one day, the man can no longer pay his bills, and has to sell his property to satisfy his obligations. The holder of most of his debt buys his property, and then the world's largest swingset becomes their asset. Thus, now they have the world's largest swingset, and didn't have to build a new one to claim the bragging rights.
  5. They took away the whole lift hill? Man! Are they strict!?! Seriously... they do it because they don't care about the potential consequences if their phone flies out of their hands and hits someone in the eye.
  6. Welcome to the wider world... where you might see that fewer people than you think are as respectful and/or courteous as they once were. Nobody wants to be told what to do. Hope she likes the pics she got.
  7. Was Fabio wearing eye protection on Apollo's Chariot? (I guess a flying Canada goose is an extreme exception.) Still, it's a good idea to get a lanyard and some good shades to protect the peepers on these contraptions...
  8. You will soon know I have no experience with trolls......What does "the slowpoke" mean? As a child I always wondered why there was a christmas song about an elderly troll named "Carol" "Troll the ancient yuletide carol, fa la la la la, la la la la" ♫ "Don we now, our gay ape, Harold, fa la la la la la la la la ♫
  9. YAY! I was beginning to get a sinking feeling that I'd never get to ride Vortex this season. Clip clop clip clop clip clop Slam!
  10. It wasn't a ride; it was a pay-to-play remote-controlled boat attraction, but I'm not sure what part of the park it was in. I played it a bunch of times in 1985, before I started paying attention to which area of the park I was in. I'm guessing the pond in Oktoberfest, on the south 'shore'.
  11. Like, Kings Island, perhaps. (well, there is that 'major' announcement coming in August)... juz sayin'
  12. Marathon Turnpike? Saltwater Circus... Scooby's Scooners...
  13. The Beast, because I've ridden it more times than Don Helbig has ridden..... uh, ...the Space Shuttle Seriously, it's more fun for me now because there is always that 'first-time' coaster rider who freaks out at the top of the lift hill. Never gets old.
  14. Excellent find ! I can't believe 19 years have passed since that season. Time is an illusion: enjoy and cherish every moment because you can't get 'em back! Nice to see and hear International Street, Oktoberfest and the Grand Carousel the way they were meant to be seen and heard! Cheers!
  15. I'd have a "best guest ever" contest based on a points-system. Everytime somebody is observed being courteous to others, or helping out in a good way, they earn points good toward epic, mystery prizes awarded at the end of the day, announced on a popular radio station or something. So like at, I dunno, Speedway or something, they can check their 'point balance' on line or something. Heck, there can even be points for buying food, playing midway games, or even attending certain attractions. There can be like, mega pointbusters for getting caught line-jumping, POVing, flashmobbing the Carousel, or shouting obscenities and stuff. Well, it looks good on paper, anyway...
  16. • It's been soooo hot this season, you probably saw a mirage of a fan, much like people wandering the desert see an 'oasis.' • I thought, by the title, this was going to be another commentary about a certain facebook page... • If they did remove misters in order to sell more beverages... viva Capitalism! Badda Bing! Thank you. I'll be here all week.
  17. 1. Roller Coaster - Joyland Park 2. King Cobra - Kings Island 3. Screechin' Eagle - Lesourdsville/Americana
  18. Hope he likes appropriately grand front gate music. Just sayin....
  19. Or, Place a mosaic of large, seamless mirrors around the tower to make you feel like you're falling up; Or, Paint the loading pad like boiling grease, so if you have the courage to look down during the drop, you'll get the sensation you're riding the world's biggest french-fry basket. Or, Eat a YorkTM Peppermint Patty while riding, so you'll get the sensation you're riding a dogsled down the face of a mighty Alaskan glacier in the Iditarod! (sorry; I'm not at my PhotoShop computer)...
  20. So loud, it apparently echoed! Tb, who just can't help it.
  21. ^ Brilliant! OOPS... The other way...
  22. Visiting a place where you spent memorable time with friends so soon after a shocking loss might seem strangely cruel at first. You might experience something that feels like abject envy for everyone else around you who are 'going on with life'. This phenomenon will fade with time. All the while have maximum fun in memory of your friend... honor their memory and legacy by thoroughly and richly enjoying the experience as a celebration of the joy you shared with them.
  23. ...Which reminds me of Münich (laut lachen ) It would be nice if they were able to return that clock to its former glory. It's just a fun, amusement-parky thing, even if the area is no longer really themed for Oktoberfest.
  24. Bring the music back. Please.

  25. Visual theming is great. So is audio theming! I haven't been to the park yet this year (life is a bit crazy at the moment) but I have one question for those who have... Have they returned to the majestic, international-themed music at the front entrance/Royal Fountains, or are they still playing rock/pop? Thanx. It really is that important to me. Thanks
