What? They're putting rocks around the pond? Cool! ... The rain is making the webcam a little foggy this morning, but there seems to be another 10 feet of "rockscape" since my last post on the subject. Lookin' good.

Like flowing lava, I see a "stream" of stones building in counter-clockwise along the southeast perimeter of the splashdown. I did not see those there yesterday (unless they were in the shadows)... I see workers moving about inside the splashdown pool on the webcam. I'm wondering if they'll do some kind of surfacing to the concrete prior to any "edge" work... I also noticed a large, blue piece of equipment moving around on the left of the Showplace, but it's probably not related to work on DB.

Great. Now I have that Chambers Brothers song stuck in my head! Tick tock tick tock TIME!!! I can live with The Beast being 30. I still can't get over The Vortex being 22. For some reason, that doesn't seem right to me. -Tb, 36 days away from 40.

I enjoyed a great Zydeco band that played near Great Barrier Reef a few years ago in Boomerang Bay. I don't know what they were called, but the atmosphere was as festive as ever. ... Friend Chicken. Hilarious.

[EDIT] (I misread a member's post.) Kings Island still has a sort-of resortish feel, but the surrounding cities are creeping up on the park, and the feel seems to be vanishing. I think they're building condos in the old golf course now.

Are those redeemable for cash and/or prizes? Just kidding. If that's the case, I have boxes and binders of old stuff lying around at home someplace... The name was a contest-winning name that combines "Kings" (Mills) with (Coney) "Island". Don't know who won that contest, though..
