  1. Prolly 'cause the d*w** coaster goes so d***q* fast! Actually, I thought I've seen one train ascending the lift hill as another was going into the final helix.
  2. It looks to me like the nearby buildings have a natural, weathered 'grayness', which the DB station might perhaps fade to in the coming years.
  3. I'm wondering what the fate of that diver towards the end of the commercial is? It looks like they edited out what very well could have been a monumental belly flop!
  4. Oh, yes! More! I can use all the KI information I can get! (The only sources of information on KI for me have been visitkingsisland.com, KICentral.com, and and of course, my worn, tattered copy of that famous book by ItalianChef... )
  5. Problem solved at last :
  6. Rumors get started along the human-nature principle of the "grape vine". People, when excited by dramatic events, tend to inject heresay data into the thread of the message as they pass it along. They see an event and assume the possible consequences: "Someone must have been killed" turns into "Someone was killed", and the misinformation snowballs. It usually happens very soon after an event, but facts and truth eventually win out with time.
  7. I think the most dramatic change is how much the cities have grown up around the park in 36 years. Not as quickly or as crowded as Disneyland in California, but still a notable difference. In the 70s and early 80s, Kings Island was "out in the country", on the edge of what looked like an endless forest. Now it feels a bit more, ...suburban?
  8. You want to hold on to your sunglasses on the Double Helix, too! That thing'll shake off anything that isn't tied down!
  9. It's hard to avoid being political about this one. I applaud people who try to accommodate as many people as possible. The problem is avaricious lawyers looking for every possible, tiny violation, and getting people emotional about it enough to sue, sue, sue!
  10. It might possibly be a violation of a rule to remain on designated walkways and traffic areas. (i.e., people who run through the landscaping between the exit/entrance paths on AE).
  11. Gheez.......Did Terpy sneak in here? LOL I think Terpy's powers of ventriloquism are somewhat underestimated.
  12. Does any of the signage indicate whether you've entered the queue? I think there is some ambiguity at play. Still, the long pathways to some of the attractions (FD, AE, Vortex) are quite narrow, and running kids can pose something of a safety hazard in them. In a society where people are living by their own rules, sometimes they just need someone to speak up before they realize they're being rude, or that their behavior is ...eh, 'out of line'...
  13. That animated commercial was one of the best! Nowhere near as bad as the GL family commercial. I can remember a commercial for KI that featured Dick Van Dyke that was a bit cheesy. It was back in the 70s.
  14. You think that GL commercial was scary!? Watch this one! My sides hurt! Oh, man I needed a good laugh. Thanks!
  15. I'll just be glad to experience the ride for the first time, no matter when that might be.
  16. I think people like to escape to places where they don't have to muse over life's problems, especially in economically tough times.
  17. Best of luck! Congratulations on your success so far! Weight loss sometimes requires 'incentives' that help in reaching our personal goals, and the anticipation of riding our favorite coasters is an excellent motivation! (I know, it helped me greatly!) Keep us posted!
  18. I think I've seen Kings Island commercials with the same music. Yes the second one is pretty bad. The guy sounds sad or frightened at the end. The worst commercial for an amusement park I've ever seen was for Palace Playland in Maine. Just cheap. Had a gross-looking clown just standing in front of a blue screen, waving like she's trying to catch a cab in Manhattan, with video clips of disappointed-looking kids on a marry-go-round or something, and unattractive beach goers eating greasy looking food, etc. flashing by in the background. They've probably gotten a new one by now, but it was pretty bad.
  19. ^Same shoe? You should mark it with pictures of each ride you lose it from
  20. Awesome! I really can't wait to see the landscaping on this thing take shape! I like the effect of boulders (or faux boulders) around ponds (if what I see in the video is what they'll do); very nice!
  21. Dang that's sad! You oughta sell that story to Nashville! I know it's painful, but I think it would make a great country song! "Roller Coaster Heartache..."
  22. I still have to get used to the grown trees along the fountains every time I enter the park; I still think it's nicer than the old, carved bushes.
  23. I get what csikoth is asking. Here are some suggestions: Jim Carrey, for a fun and frenetic, wild ride with unexpected twists and turns; Ozzy Osbourne, for a LIM-launched descent into rock and roll madness [sharrronnn!]; Bernie Madoff, for a giant lift hill, then sudden drop right back into the station; Eminem, for an eight-mile long coster with pretty much one hill, followed by an obscure ground-hugging adventure throught the woods Tiger Woods, for a green coaster that goes very precisely into 18 head-choppin' tunnels before returning to a clubhouse-themed station I got a million of 'em, but I'll spare... Enjoy!
  24. ! I don't have to watch to know... they gotta have cup stacking! When I think of Mason, Ohio, I think of championship karaoke!
  25. Hey! Some of those Disney tunes rock! I feel ya. Outside of "Your Song" by Elton John, I'm pretty much stuck in Barry Manilow land when it comes to karaoke!
