  1. Ironically, Rivertown used to have a place where you could get Cincinnati Reds' memorabilia. Now there's a red hypercoaster in that area who will share its name with a team from Arizona. "Big Red Machine" would have been kinda ...nostalgic.
  2. The first one sounds almost believable. The second one sounds more like an aircraft carrier (give or take 80 mph).
  3. Hey, watch me! I'm going to break the rules and jump into the fountains! Ain't I a cool rebel? Hey, watch me! I'm going to break the rules and walk under this suspended coa[[[whack!]]] This kind of mentality only leads to more and more dangerous behavior.
  4. I'm wondering if a drought during summer/fall means a winter full of 2 foot blizzards?
  5. ^You make it easy to think of the reasons why we hold our beloved park so dear.
  6. Robbie Knievel's jump, the giant flag skydiver, the HB Characters doing the 'Hustle' with the 'tourists' and 1970's uniforms were all my favorite memories of '08.
  7. It's funny. Some midway rides made by "Chance", and some games of chance are made by "Midway".
  8. Oh, how I miss the band organ on the Carousel. I love the train whistle, the Indiana Jones music at AE, and the clickety-clack of coaster chain dogs throughout the park. Maybe, one day, International Street music will return to sweeping, symphonic grandeur.
  9. ^^They are. At one time, it seemed virtually everyone learned manners and common courtesy early on. That's disappearing more and more as people just aren't teaching their kids how to behave in an orderly society (and there are way too many interpretations of what that is exactly).
  10. I honestly can't remember ever line jumping. LJs need to learn some manners.
  11. Well if they ever did, I'd hope the replacement would be something like Berzerker, or a Vekoma Air Jumper.
  12. Oops! Too tall. Back to the old drawing board!
  13. Everything about Dubai is grand in scale. I wonder what kinds of coasters will be built there. (I'd go just to visit the Burj al-Arab and the Burj Dubai, being a fan of tower architecture.) With enough money and the 'right' construction laws in place, anything is imaginable!
  14. Oh, we have pretty mild winters around here.
  15. I guess "bunny hops" does no justice!
  16. Yes it is cool to see the old characters roaming the park again! I even liked the 70's "Tourists" back on Knievel day. Excellent touch!
  17. I was referring to the posts about the Behemoth changes... Tb, still waiting for fishtail turns and bumpy steps...
  18. The only changes I can imagine would be theming surprises (tunnels, head-choppers, lighting fx)...
  19. LOL! Or OSU rankings! I didn't track Behemoth's progress. Did it get larger or smaller than previously announced? Was it by subtle or huge amounts (i.e., will the lift hill go from 230' to 270, etc.?)
  20. ^I was thinking that very thing. We've already been told the dimensions. There's a video and a model, and plans. Maybe these are from people who still want to experience the excitement of 'reading the book without jumping to the ending'. Just a thought.
  21. It was like that in Mason, Ohio on the Monday following Ike, but it quickly went back to normal. In my 70-mile-wide circle of travels, I haven't seen it like that since. I hope it gets back to normal for you quickly.
  22. ^ Thanks, Coby! I like it!
  23. Probably an expansion of Pipeline Paradise if anything. Unless they're in some financial trouble I haven't read or heard about, I don't see Beach being OOB in '12.
