  1. Thanks for the compliment; but my accent is pure Southwest Ohio 'Merkan! "Hey, what the heck is going on here?!?" kiDiamondback.com and placesaroundflorida.com (actually, when I first heard "stadium seating," this was the mental image I had, until I got to a TV and saw what the real cars were going to look like.)
  2. ...or "Hey, let's put a Beast car on the track and watch what happens..."
  3. I think we should start picking this thread apart and clear things up so we all can breath a sigh of relief. (I can't believe that it is 12:40 and no one picked up on this.) I need a kleenex.
  4. I once suggested a Ferris wheel, themed like a mill wheel in River Town. Now that Diamondback is there, it's harder to imagine theming for that area.
  5. So what happens if there are 1000 people with Quick Queue wanting to ride. Doesn't that make the line long for them as well?
  6. They'll have to hoist the wagon onto a lorrie, and make a right proper fix of it before tea, wink, wink, nudge, nudge.
  7. Orange, like this little piece of equipment, holding up the person with the best view of Diamondback! (I've always wondered. Did we ever give a nickname to this thing, like we did "Clifford" and "Casper"?)... www.kiDiamondback.com
  8. It looks, from the picture, as though that coaster is somewhat neglected in more areas than just "bolts".
  9. Click over on video, next to the webcam image; there's a video showing the car design, and it has black "dividers, " as RailRider mentioned.
  10. Lots of eyes on the webcam right now, I'd imagine. I've got the little red x with "Live Image" I do get in every 3rd refresh. I'm thinking last car, outside edge, for maximum head chopper effect.
  11. I, too, like the idea of riding on the 'outer edge'. It's like a stadium full of people in here!
  12. For fear of being panned, panned, panned by the critics! I never got to see the Safari. This is an excellent video find, Cory! Now, I wonder what exactly occupies the land where this attraction used to be?
  13. From Western Row, I thought I was looking at Vortex for about 2 seconds, then when I saw the height as compared with the blinking lights atop ET and DT, I realized it was DB's lift hill with all the lights!
  14. As I mentioned on another thread, this is like seeing baby Diamondback's first fang...
  15. It's like seeing a baby's first tooth! Next, we'll see DB learning to crawl...
  16. I don't know which is going to be more fun for me... riding, or watching others react to this thing!
  17. As in a lot of places these days, you might see people paying little regard to rules about smoking, line jumping, etc., but at least from my own experience, I've always observed KI Security personnel doing a great job of keeping order and/or responding to guests' concerns.
  18. Welcome! You definitely want to ride The Beast (it has a panoramic view from the first lift hill that is legendary), The Vortex, Flight of Fear, Racer, Delirium, Invertigo and Firehawk. Shake, Rattle & Roll is a surprisingly fun classic flat, but don't ride it on an empty stomach. Monster is another fun one if you're shorter than 6'3. PotatoWorks has awesome bacon/cheese fries, not to mention a great view of Diamondback. Enjoy the park!
  19. I have no photos, but I do have a piece of art that comes close: The towa without powa! Still no webcam for me. Has anyone seen whether the aircraft warning light is flashing again?
  20. It was kinda eerie driving past KI at 11 PM last night; the tower was just a black silhouette against the backdrop of fast-moving, low-hanging 'orange' clouds. It's rare to see the tower without its lights on.
  21. Hey! Having a great week, thanks for asking! Hope all's well! -Tb

  22. ^Congrats! You might be a KI addict if it's winter and you open a bottle of suntan lotion and the scent reminds you of KI and not a beach (or even the Beach)... must.... get .... to . .. . opening . . . day. . . . .
  23. That landscaping rocks! I just had to. I wonder if the water will be treated with that stuff that makes fake ponds look strangely aquamarine?
  24. Some places I've been able to spot the Eiffel Tower from: 1. From the hill behind the WalMart in the west side of Hamilton (flashing lights atop ET and DT); 2. Coming down the hill from Middletown on Cincinnati-Dayton Road; 3. The entrance ramp from I-75 onto SR 129 4. The bike trail emerging onto Landen Lake from Simpson Trace. 5. Rt 63/741, by the ODOT facility... 6. The 10th hole at TPC River's Bend...
