You also have to think this amusement park is run by the Mack family which means the park probably does not get that large of mark up on the rollercoaster if any. I could be totally wrong I have no clue how their relationship with the manufacturer works. It seems kind of like a demo ride to show what their rides can do.

That might mean they need to repave the parking lot so this would never happen. -

I would bet they are not demoing jukebox could we see a ride go over the midway somehow? -

I feel like that can’t go in the area of major capital investment if it’s just one flat like sol spin. Delirium I feel like is massive if feels like a big investment from someone that isn’t too versed in the price of things. Adventure port also felt like a big investment due to the whole retheming and everything that took place over there. However if they are going to add some random flat ride I don’t know if they could necessarily put it on that list. It just wouldn’t live up to all the other stuff on that list. -

At least it destroys all of our hopes and dreams now instead of being utterly destroyed after a year of anticipation. The bars are really a corporate thing not really his. I don’t think he necessarily wanted them but was more of told to put them there. -
Kings Island to add “family thrill” attraction in 2026

I just think this probably pushes up back to probably 2028-2029 for a major thrill coaster. I think we will start to see additions to parks biannually possibly due to there being so many parks which really sucks due to the fact a lot of our rides are coming to a pretty old age. I think we really need a coaster to replace Vortex soon or else we will lose another major coaster like Vortex and not get a replacement for it. To clarify I mean The Vortex spot will be replaced but they will remove another coaster at the same time. -

I feel like the overall park experience is more well rounded and important house keeping updates were made that isn’t noticed by people as much. -

Not going to lie I am super devastated waking up to this news this morning. I guess we always have 2027. I guess it does help stop the anticipation for getting something nice in 2026 which will help to curve speculation. -
I will say it was never removed because it was never offered in the first place. Not the”bait and switch”. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What is everyone’s take on this? Theoretically if fastlane is offered should they give it to season Fast Lane pass holders and honor it or should they not honor it. I will say when purchasing it you never really thought you were getting it for Winterfest. I feel like it would be a nice bonus perk, but not something that would make me very upset if it was not honored. I don’t think the park has a duty to give it to someone cause it is not like it is hidden that it isn’t valid for Winterfest.

What’s everyone looking forward to the most for this Winterfest?

Is there still a stage over there? Have not been over there in a while.

Interesting they would remove it now and not later in the season. Almost seems like they plan to do something next year in that space and plan to begin work soon, or it could have needed a part as well and they didn't to shell out the money for just a year or so of operation.

This may be controversial, but I feel like a front gate coaster does not make sense for the park. I feel like the Eiffel Tower is our front gate coaster because it is the icon when you are pulling up the park. Other parks like Cedar Point and Carowinds do not have such a structure like the Eiffel Tower that is visible from all around so a front gate coaster makes sense for them. But I feel like pulling up and seeing the Eiffel Tower is so iconic for the park and would not want to see that change.

I will preface this with as a former employee I do have quite the bias for not only the park but other employees. Plenty of people including me that have worked and currently work there care so much about the park and only want the best for it. There are a few people that do have the mindset as mentioned above but that is the minority. I have been on plenty rides that have stopped due to people having there phones out and employees try their best to get people to put their phones away. Also the splashing the soda thing I feel does not warrant a formal report from the employee, but more of a talking too and depending on this kids age where were his parents and why didn't they say anything. It sucks as an employee it can feel really difficult to get anything done by security or to get a guest reprimanded. Most of the time in my experience when security gets their the guest is gone. Also what would you have wanted the employee to do? If you were an employee what would you have done in that situation? Putting yourself in the employees shoes and seeing everything that they see in a day can really change how they view things. At the end of the day people are people we are not all perfect should they have said something probably, but you never know what is going on in that persons life at the moment. Somedays I remember going in to work and you are just trying to keep it together cause of something that is happening at home. You have to think this is also their job and you may or may not have a job, but I bet you that you have seen something wrong at work and you didn't say anything cause you were tired or you didn't feel like it that day. Did you feel bad about it yes, but you are just trying to keep your life together. Pointing out every little thing that goes wrong at the park can be so discouraging and honestly destroy peoples passion for what they do. So really we should not keep this going it is so toxic. I do not speak for the park.

The pastry team produce the stuff for Sweet Spot and they are the ones in the kitchen. But the people in the front are still merchandise it is a joint store. But the register is still run by merchandise so merchandise is the one that does the hot chocolate not the food people in the back. At least that is what I’ve heard and what it seems like based on when I was there.

As a former sweet spot employee I totally understand how it is frustrating that you can’t get hot chocolate there with your drink plan. I have been through many difficult talks with customers that they cannot get their hot chocolate cups refilled there and it is never fun for me or the customer. The merchandise department claims there hot chocolate is “gourmet hot chocolate” and they do not do the refill cups. You have to buy the special mug they have there which is different then the red top thermos like mug. It is super stupid and I understand the guest frustration because of this. But please do not take it out on the employees they do try there best I know most of them at least try to recommend somewhere else you can get your cup either refilled or get the drink plan hot chocolate. It is not up to the employees it is all upper management from what I remember. It’s been like that since 2021 when I was an employee there. This is also a reason why Sweet Spot is not on the premium meal and snack plan. From what I remember at least. French corner is always a good alternative, but I understand the frustration.

I have a feeling it might not be open this weekend due to the start of WinterFest set up that may have started. But I could be wrong.

Discussing Land and Space in and around Vortex

Does anyone know when that sign disappeared was it due to construction and just never put back or one season was it just gone? -
Discussing Land and Space in and around Vortex

I think that is true, but they will need to find a new location for the new drone show, so I feel like it is possible for us to see a new location for the show at the start of next season if they are planning on putting something in The Vortex plot in 2026. They could probably try to launch the drones from the area in front of slaughter house. -
Discussing Land and Space in and around Vortex
SmartCat7162 replied to Klabergian Empire's topic in Kings Island
I felt like this was the best topic to post this under, but I saw today on one of the Facebook groups that someone had posted a picture of land leveling that was going on behind the former Son of Beast station and pieces for me started to fall into place. I do not think that the area behind the Son of Beast station will be the location for the next major attraction being added to the park. It is pretty apparent that something may be going in the former Vortex plot in 2026. As seen by the numerous survey markers that have been seen in that area. Those pictures are located in this thread, but I was listening to the new tower topics episode today and that also inspired the idea. But if something does go there then the park needs to find a new spot to be able to launch the drones from. I have a feeling that they will try to move either the firework launch area or the drone launch area to that big flat piece of land. Of course this is just speculation and I do not know more then anybody else. I just feel like that would be the most logical sense for the land clearing going on behind the Son of Beast station. -
Why would you not want something new in there. Something that you have never seen before. You have already presumably ridden the ride and a new experience would probably be better executed anyway.
