  1. I will say having all 42 parks on one app, one website etc could feel very full and make things harder to navigate. I would like to see things stay separate until some of the fat has been trimmed from the company. I think 42 parks would just be so over stimulating in the online store for example. Also having 42 park maps on an app like the format that current Cedar Fair has would take up so much phone storage and until fonts, colors, and other styles are standardized across the whole brand I do not see everything. merging. I bet the corporate team has been working on either one app or separate apps for each park and one website.
  2. Probably in the front of International Street. But for a more secluded location I would maybe the walk back from The Bat near that one swinging element. Or in front of the clock on the other side of the Eiffel Tower.
  3. If you are telling me the water park addition isn't ready until past memorial day I would be severally dissapointed because they had so long to do this. Water park closed August 18th and you are telling me they could not get this done by May 26th that would be very upsetting. Like I understand with Camp Snoopy since winter is so unpredictable in Ohio and you can't begin to work on that too soon.
  4. I feel like having a GM on the ground that knows the associates and interacts with the guests is super important and feel like if this is true could be a major loss to everyone all over the board.
  5. They have yet to name a replacement which I find very interesting.
  6. It really depends on the food, but most of the time if the item can not be saved the policy is to throw it out of course some food may get taken home by employees, but that is not allowed unless you have permission from a higher up. I have never worked at Larossa's cause it is only run by front of house, but I can say with 99% certainty that pizza is thrown out at the end of the night. A lot of items can be saved at Coney BBQ, but once it goes past the window to the front it usually never goes back into the kitchen. This is all from my experience I do not speak for the park.
  7. Thank you I have troubling finding older threads even using the search feature.
  8. I am a former Kings Island Food and Beverage Line Cook and was employed from 2020-2024. I worked pretty much every weekend the park was open and wanted to see if anyone had any burning question for a former employee. I’ve worked a little bit everywhere including special events like Carnivale and tricks and treats. The one thing that I am not super familiar with is the front of house stuff.
  9. I am the former employee and wanted to see if people had any questions
  10. Would it be okay to start a thread about questions for a former employee of the park?
  11. My hope is they are testing out a new and improved Carnivale at the park this year, but only time will tell.
  12. What is an FEC never heard that term before.
  13. They are rebuilding a Coke station in Soak City and it says that it should be done by opening day for the waterpark. "Demo existing Coke building and build brand new structure to house three new Coke fountain machines and two ICEE machines along with a covered area for the sales associates. This needs to be an EXPEDITED permit as we're opening this with the waterpark on Memorial Day weekend." This is from the permit that was filed.
  14. I feel like that would be super maintenance heavy especially with the trains, so I do not see them doing something like that. But never say never.
  15. The top right of this picture could probably be sold and then also some of the forest as well. Picture from the giga speculation thread I don't know to to quote from one thread to another.
  16. Do people think they will sell some of the land that is undeveloped at the park?
  17. I feel like they may divest from some of the parks and quiet literally strip it down to bear bones (relocating rides, moving out excess inventory, selling park vehicles) and sell the land. However for parks in the middle of nowhere I think it is more likely the whole park is sold because the land won't be that valuable. If a park is not profitable I do not see why anyone would want to purchase it unless they think it is possible to turn it around. However, I don't think any company has the free capital right now to make that major investment and make a park profitable while at the same time building new rides.
  18. I forget do they typically announce if they are doing fireworks every night during regular operation at this time as well?
  19. Cornerstone, which is the employee cafeteria, is probably one of the coolest things I experienced as an employee. One of the most memorable things I did was ride on a parade float during Carnivale. There aren’t that many "cool" backstage areas—most of them just look like office buildings. Some of the storage areas are interesting but also kind of creepy. For employees who have been there a while, you can get your license and are allowed to drive in the park on the back roads. That was probably one of my favorite things to do. It was amazing to be able to drive a car under The Beast, Diamondback, Orion, and Banshee. I was a super privileged line cook and probably got away with more than any other cook. I don’t know of many cooks who were able to drive in the park—usually, that’s reserved for warehouse workers, supervisors, and team leads.
  20. I have no clue, but with the addition of a windshield I would think no, but I know absolutely nothing about it to be honest. (Here is a picture of the train with the windshield.) I think the windshield will have a very different experience since you will not get that wind in your face so speed I feel will be very different.
  21. The cars have windshields on them.
  22. Now I can say I have ridden every current ride in the park that is not a kiddy ride. Plus slingshot.
  23. Working in sweet spot I heard horror stories of dollar days.
  24. I think it is more based off of what Coke wanted. I think Coke probably gives them money to spend on building a new drink stand.
  25. We have such a beautiful park and are so lucky to have people that are passionated about the park in high ranking positions.
