Magnum XL-200, hands down, or up which is how I prefer.
-
I am going up to the point next week, a week from today actually and I was on a Cedar Point craze so I figured I would ask what your favorite Cedar Point coaster was. For me it is Magnum XL-200, simply an amazing hyper coaster with that long antagonizing climb to the top of the lift, and then that gut wrenching plummet to earth. It is also full of airtime and has a unique turnaround.

Who the heck are you thanking? If you meant me, I was DISAGREEING with you. Shaggy, I was wondering the same exact thing.

President of Holiday World has passed
Jasper replied to rotag's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Wow this news truly shocked me, though I never got to meet Will or been to Holiday World yet, from the stories I have heard he was truly a remarkable person with one goal in life, to make others happy. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Koch family and all of Holiday World management. -

Aerosmith tickets whoo hoo!!!! -
You stayed at my Hotel I see, very nice choice! Great PTR, hopefully I'll get to experience Holiday World in the next couple of months.

For whatever reason, it's literally about my favorite thing on Earth when you pull up into the helicopter scene in the front row. There's a burst of air right there if you're seated in the right place. at :29 The front seat really does provide the best effects at the helicopter scene, especially if your riding with someone who has no idea that the fire is going to happen. You also get a lot of air right before you go down into the subway, on that dip, as the sign so nicely points out.

Yes. Someone knows. Seriously, the trains are no longer in Flight of Fear's drum building... ...and have been moved to KD, at last accounting... Correct Latest picture of the old KC trains at Kings Dominion.

Let us not forget the in station spiels, both when you board and exit. "The only final escape......is oblivion!" "We've enjoyed our visit to your world, now it's time for you to visit......ours!" There's more I just cannot remember at the moment.

Drachen Fire Overhead That picture shows where it was located very well. I would love to go back in that area of the park and explore around where it was located at, ever since I saw it on America's Greatest Roller Coaster Thrills (1994) I have been fascinated with the ride.

Thank you for the opinions, I really wish I would have gotten down to BGW in time to ride it before it closed down, sadly I was a few years too late. The ride sit back in behind Big Bad Wolf in a secluded area didn't it?

Flight of Fear is one of my favorite rides in the park, even though they have kind of toned it down with the MCBR stop halfway through the ride. I rode it on opening day this year and was on the 2nd train of the year and all of the lights were off in the bowl, this made the ride absolutely insane. I do however miss the old theming in the queue hangar and the saucer. Not to mention the announcements that you could use to hear very vividly outside the hangar as well. "Attention time travelers, we have an urgent meeting, please go back to last Friday at 8 AM."

I have been doing some research on Drachen Fire lately, watching old videos, looking at old pictures, and it has got me intrigued. Did anyone on these boards ride the coaster themselves, if so, how was the ride experience? From what I have read it was a typical Arrow headbanger and was much rougher than many of the other Arrow coasters, the camel back did not even provide airtime is also something that I read.

I am gonna have to with 14-2 on Diamondback, and seats 39-5 on Drop Tower. I am also a big fan of 1-1 on Flight Deck. At Cedar Point, Maverick 1-1, Magnum 1-3, and Gemini 2-3.

If we are talking about land I can fit all of Kings Island and the parking lot on the farm I live on with my family, so I'll take that please! For my house though, Just give me top of Drop Tower and the gondola from it and I will be one happy camper.
-
I would love to see the queue line under the station open back up as well as see good ole Flight Deck receive some TLC and become a major ride at the park again. A train style like previously mentioned would also make the ride a lot more intense.

Coaster-The Beast hands down Flat-The one, the only............Drop Tower!! Water-White Water Canyon I am slowly starting to become more and more partial to all the rides at Kings Island as I go along. The Beast will always be my favorite coaster, and Drop Tower will always be my number one flat and it will never be replaced, I can't go to KI without riding it. White Water Canyon has too many memories for me not to choose it. Slingshot and Skyflyer are pay per ride so I do not always get to experience them but they are really fun and both worth ten dollars in my opinion.

The BLSC cars also used to have doors that open and close. They replaced them with seatbelts that attach to the lap bar. The seatbelts were there when the doors still were I am pretty sure.

^Agreed, in my opinion, we have seen the end of Son of Beast, the signs around the park show it.

I was thinking of this while walking around at the park yesterday. I miss the days when Paramount owned the park. I miss the feeling you would get when you walked through the gates and there was the Paramount logo right in front of the fountains. The theming of the rides was also a major plus, back when The Crypt was actually an enjoyable ride with great theming, Flight of Fear's pre-show actually made the wait for the ride that much better (i.e. When Mr. Christopher grabs the electric plug and the TV's go dark, the queue house use to go completely dark as well), and Backlot Stunt Coaster had water at the end and more detail inside the cars. This is not saying I do not like Cedar Fair, but I just miss Paramount.

I have started to get pretty good at the Basketball Shots. I think at CP I am shooting 100% from the field with 3 for 3 made. The one at Kings Island, 3 for 5 I think, not bad for shooting on double stacked rims that are so tight one bounce means it shoots off from one side to the other. A game I really want to see someone win is the one where you have to weave the wand around the metal without it going off, that one looks almost impossible.

I was on my way home from New York City when I got a text message and I read it aloud to both my parents and I was so excited to get home and hop on KIC to find out more!

For some reason the past couple of days I have viewed the webcam the queue line for Diamondback did not have the bottom set of rails open. Even the past couple of times I have been up there the bottom set has not been open. Are they going to start using this like The Beast's bottom set, and use them only when really necessary?

Now what do you have against Drop Tower fanatics might I ask? The days I have found are the best to go are days where it is supposed to rain. Granted you take a big chance there because if it does rain then rides will shut down, but it is always a chance I risk. These days usually keep crowds light and the day is not miserably hot due to the cloud coverage though. So far this season I have been blessed to go on days where there are minimal crowds and I have been able to ride everything I want to with minimal wait times.
