Looks like I am going to be taking some screenshots of the webcam tomorrow. Anyone want to take any bets on how long Diamondback's line gets?

Great to hear you had a fun time for your first visit this year. I agree 100% about Flight Deck, every year it seems like the forces on the coaster get more and more powerful and it seems to become more and more of a must ride for me every year. I am anxiously awaiting my next visit to see Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular.

I am really digging this transformation of Planet Snoopy. I am anxious to see what the sign looks like once they get the Planet Snoopy logo on it and once they get whatever poles are beside GPC. It's still not HBL, but Planet Snoopy is growing more and more on me everyday.

Well I am glad you had a good first trip to Kings Island. KI has so much more to offer than just Diamondback, The Beast, Vortex, Firehawk, Flight of Fear, and not to mention the hidden gem of the park in my opinion, Backlot Stunt Coaster. Diamondback is a world class coaster though, glad you got to experience it. Did you get to ride the one and only Drop Tower while you were there?

Alright first off, Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular has been announced now for about 2 weeks so if you have been reading on here you should have noted that the construction was going on. the construction will not be going on all summer as the Spectacular opens up on the evening of May 29th. Second, I am quite happy you didn't try to make it to Boomerang Bay as you would have found an empty water park with a big sign out front that says Closed as it opens May 22nd. Third, as for the Crypt being a children's ride, I would have to disagree with you on that one. Though the Crypt is stripped and lacks theming it is still an intense ride when it flips you and it puts strenuous forces on your body, am I saying it is enjoyable and fun, no, but it still provides a thrill for only teenagers and adults.

My Bright Idea for what to do with Son of Beast
Jasper replied to benred23's topic in Coming Attractions
Also do not let us forget on our neighbor to the north, Gemini is a hybrid as well. That does sound like a good idea, although the loop going back in is very doubtful. If that renovation did happen and the loop was put back in, that sets up a possibility for one hellacious promo campaign. Welcome to KICentral! -
I was a bit leery of BBoBH when I first rode it on Saturday, but when I got off I have to say I was impressed. The effects were used very well, the fog screen was truly amazing. The props used looked really creepy and I couldn't believe that they had some props in there as they didn't look to kid friendly. I liked Scooby, but overall, Boo Blasters has a lot more effects, and has an overall better ride experience. As I stated in another topic concerning BBoBH, it is just not the same without Shaggy being chased by the ghost, or Shaggy playing the organ. It just seems like something is missing from there, and I am also quite used to seeing both Shag and Scoob in the queue line popping up. All in all I give BBoBH a 10/10.

^I enjoy dreaming of those summer days at Kings Island, boarding the backwards Racer in the back seat, and having one of the best rides in the park. My where have those days gone.

I got to ride BBoBH for the first time on Saturday and I was impressed with it overall. The fog effect was simply astounding and I was simply blown back by this scene. Then the skeleton scene came on and I was actually creeped out in a way, but I thought it was a very elaborate scene. I don't remember hearing any screeches so I can't really say anything about that. Sadly though, it wasn't the same without seeing Shaggy and Scooby pooping up in the queue line, seeing Shaggy being chased around and Scooby popping out of the planter, and Shaggy playing the organ. Those scenes, in my opinion, are irreplaceable, I miss Scooby but I am impressed with the overall ride of BBoBH.

I think I might just wait until June 20th when they have their next day, being as it's Mother's Day and all. On the other hand though, the holiday could have an effect on the crowds.

I have started to notice the same thing, the last couple of times I have been to the park the Red Racer is not running. This can sometimes make the wait for the Blue side agonizingly long. I have not seen the two coasters race in quite some time either, therefore I know call it The One Car Street Race. I did get to ride the Blue side for the first time this season on Saturday and it surprisingly gave me a smooth ride with plentiful airtime. I am looking forward to the day it opens both sides and starts to race again.

I, like Coasters, skipped out because of the weather. I was at the park yesterday too, I arrived around 9:40 though so I was a little late for the tour. IF the weather had been permitting and the drive had not been so hazardous I may have made it in time. But, I looked at the forecast and thought, we are going to be going 55 down the interstate the whole time, I am not going to sign up. Now I am kicking myself for it. Great trip report Avatar, our TR's never cease to amaze me. Thank you KICentral as well for making this moment possible.

I was at the park as well and we got there with just 20 minutes left for ERT. The park was empty all day really, we left at 7:30 and we rode everything multiple times almost. I, like everyone else, was expecting a huge rain monsoon to come down. It didn't rain a drop on us after 10 in the morning.

2009 Attendence at Major Parks
Jasper replied to PhantomTheater's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I cannot believe Soak City was on the list of top waterparks. Maybe it is just me, but on my visit to Soak City there wasn't anyone in the whole waterpark but us and we got to ride every water attraction and I really was not impressed with it. Maybe it's because I was just looking forward to getting back into CP with Magnum looming over my head. -
Feel free to correct me someone, but they drained it due to the fact that it was a standing pool of water, no circulation system or anything. From what I have heard, on a hot summer day it could get pretty nasty.

*Oh hai there Brad* I must say this one made me laugh out loud.

The things that I myself noticed, BLSC's trains, The Beast queue line with not split and you did not enter the lower set of turnstials, recycle bins, in the Festhaus it looks like some of the tables have gotten metal legs on the corners to support them, Flight of Fear had all of the lights off in the bowl, The Crypt sucks, and for some reason The Racer was not running the Red side, yet again.
-
I noticed Invertigo was closed for the majority of the day, and so was BLSC when I went to try and ride it. Come to think of it so was the Crypt at one point, just getting the kinks out I assume.

Nice PTR Jackson. I don't know if you noticed or not but when you were in line for Skyflyer I was two groups behind you in front of Justin_M's group. I was wearing the red hoody, probably with the hood up because I was freezing.

Very nice photos TopGun! From you review and photos I still think that BGE might have it beat, but you never really know until you experience it first hand I guess. You really do need to check out BGE though, it really is a great park.

According to Wunderground.com, opening day weather is as follows. High-56 Low-36. Starting at 8 in the morning it's supposed to a baumy 41 degrees but warm up to 50 by 11 and then peak out at 54-56 through 4 o clock. Then as closing time approaches, supposed to get down to 48 by 11. Overall though, not a horrible day in the park.

From the latest newsletter: I shot Don an e-mail asking him about what time processing opened Saturday because my friend needs to get his processed still and he told me 8:30. Looks like I am gonna be leaving a little earlier than planned because we all want to ride together when the ERT happens.

I am wondering myself if this show will upstage my now number one show, Dead Awakening. Considering they are two completely different shows it is kind of hard to compare them. I also enjoyed the Flashback Totally 80's show last year, it was especially interesting after MJ died and they kind of did a little tribute to him.
