Congratulations! It is nice to hear a story when someone get's the true experience of Kings Island, seeing your family have fun and being there to witness it. I wish you luck on all of your future endeavors in your Ride Warrior'ness.

As everyone has stated, the MUST rides are Millennium, Maverick, Top Thrill Dragster, Magnum, Raptor, and I would even throw Wicked Twister in there. As far as food goes, outside the park, make sure to hit up Chet and Matt's, best pizza in town.

If it is a very high Sta Flyer I will be happy. I am a little bit fearful of heights when I am in a swing type seat or in a very little restraint and I think this is one of those rides that may truly thrill me. I am anxious to see what is in store for our beloved park.

I was just browsing on KI's main site and I came across a bit of information while I was looking at the coasters. The Beast's record ride year was 1980 when it gave 2,150,353 rides were given. Then I kept browsing and I looked at Firehawk. Firehawk has given only 1,601,205 rides. I know it has only been open for 4 years and it has a bad capacity, but this stat kind of just apalled me at first. Does anyone else find this interesting?

Even though I am not a Bengals fan, come on Marvin, Jasper needs a new car! Posted from my iPhone....4!!!

I am hoping for a little more warm and dry October this year, for Haunt's sake at least. However there is nothing like a good, cold, crisp, and foggy fall evening at Kings Island. I love those days. Posted from my iPhone....4!!

Does anyone have any pictures of either the land clearing in behind SOB or the work in the station? Posted from my iPhone...4!!

I see the tower lasting a very long time, even after the park would be closed, just maybe. We have something that many parks lack, a beautiful centerpiece structure, thus why I think that it will outlast the park even. Posted from my iPhone....4!!

It seems like every year in the past, notice I said SEEMS like, Kings Island has adds something new to haunt and either replaced something or aloes it up quote a bit. I would be willing to bet Slaughterhouse will not be back, there will be a new live entertainment show, and at least 2 new or revamped mazes. This is coming solely from judging the park in the past. I, like many others are looking forward to the unveiling of the haunt site to see what we are in store for this year at Haunt. Posted from my iPhone.......4!!!

That is standard operation, after park close you will get to ride (except for weather or serious mechanical issues) however you are NOT guaranteed your selection of seat. Ride ops would like to go home as quickly as possible and not send out extra trains. I have had to do the same for The Beast before, so when we were waiting I figured they would do that as well.

I put my hands up on every ride I ride now. KI and CP and anywhere else. Drop Tower it is best to put your arms out front of you and lift your legs up and then the fall hits you and you get a feeling like no other. I know this is a KI topic but most people think that your arms will rip off or out of their socket if you hold them up on TTD, but it's really not that hard to do, plus going down the hill you get a great feeling like your gonna come right out of your seat.

Well I guess technically it was our first day, but I would say it was more of a night in the ark not a whole day. Never the less it was still fun even though we got rained out, and thank you!

Just returned earlier today from The Point, again. We arrived on a Sunday and got to ride Millennium Force and that only due to the weather. We ot stopped about where the train let's the guests exit, waited about an hour for the weather to clear, and then they resumed operation. After that we attempted to get in line for Mantis as it was almost to the stairs, then the rain started. I don't think we could have gotten any wetter jumping in Lake Erie, so one night down, one ride on Milly, and a soaked car ride to Chet and Matt's to eat a great pizza meal. On Monday we arrived at the park for the tail end of ERT and were able to catch a walk on ride for Raptor, which in my opinion is a very underrated coaster, even though it usually averages an hour and a half line. We then walked to TTD and waited on it to open and waited maybe 20 minutes if that. Then the crowds hit. Waited about and hour and a half for Maverick and about 30 minutes for......Mean Streak, yes I know don't break your monitor throwing things at me. We then went out of the park to eat and came back to ride Magnum, Wicked Twister, Power Tower, and Mantis. Mantis actually gave me a decent, pain free ride for once and really climbed up on my top coasters list. We also got in line for STR and we got to the very front of the line about to go in the station and it broke down, so we sit there and waited for about an hour and a half for the ride to open back up. I was wearing a Top Gun shirt and a boat captain on Paddlewheel went by us 3 times singing "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" and pointing at me every time, priceless. On our last day at the park, Tuesday, we started off with a ride on Maxair, Disaster Transport, and Wicked Twister. Seeing as we got there late we started to get hungry so we wanted some food, we decided to leave and go to Subway, but before we left we hit Power Tower 2 more times, once on each side, they are both very good rides and I can't choose which one I like better. When we returned we walked to the Beach Gate and got our tickets to go Para sailing. I got the super deluxe package and got 800 feet of towline and a 14 minute ride. IT was simply amazing. I was seriously scared to death but having the time of my life. I would do it again in a heartbeat, it was cool to see a view of the point that most people will never get to see for themselves. I am so glad I decided to do it and it was a birthday present from my friends I went with. We entered the park and walked to the back to catch a ride on Cedar Creek Mine Ride and Snake River Falls Twice. Gemini was closed and so was Skyhawk so no rides on those. We then went and got in line for Milly and took an amazing night ride, and then immediately got in line for TTD before the park closed. We ended up getting in line at 9:15 and getting on at 11:00. The ride broke down as we got to the last set of queues and they launched a rain that went about 76 mph and made it barely up to the white track before coming back down. So me and my friend decided to wait for the front, as we had already waited this long. Sadly, they cut the operations short and we had to pick an empty seat or not ride. I still enjoyed my last ride and my time at The Point again. Overall it was a great trip. Only got to ride Maverick once, and Magnum twice, but other than I had a lot of first time experiences like night rides on Milly and TTD, and Para Sailing. It was pretty crowded and rides were down a lot and that made lines lot longer. Gemini only opened both sides one time the whole trip, and Skyhawk was not open at all the second day but only had one side operating the rest of the time. Seemed like everything was out to get us and break down, but I guess that's just roller coasters for you. I will end with this, if you want to go on vacation, you HAVE to GET TO THE POINT!!

I am not expecting walk ons by any means, however I would like to wait an hour maximum for MF, TTD, Maverick, and Raptor. I would probably have more luck winning the powerball than getting that though.

For those of you who read my last TR about Cedar Point, you will know that I have already been once this year, with 4 visits in that trip. Well I, Jasper, will make a return to Cedar Point as kind of a birthday trip. I will be leaving at about noon on the 15th (Sunday), and returning sometime on the 18th (Wednesday). I am hoping the crowds have went down a little bit with everyone being back in school and everything but none the less I am looking forward to another great trip to America's Roller Coast. Stay tuned for a TR to follow my return.

When did Backlot fill it's pool back up? I would love to see an image of this.

I usually just ignore them and let them go ahead and proceed to break the rules, if you are happy with yourself cutting in line at an amusement park, that's your decision.

Gary Coleman to hit 3,000 rides on Diamondback tomorrow
Jasper replied to Kirk Sheppard's topic in Kings Island
I was at the park on Sunday of last week and I got off The Beast at night and I was on the last train of the night, the ride op said have a good night Gary! Sure enough in front of me I saw a shirt that said like 2,597 rides and counting and on the front had the Diamondback logo, and it was Gary. If I had to guess I would say he just comes there every or most evenings and rides for the majority of the night. -
Performer Falls During Signed Sealed Delivered
Jasper replied to Kirk Sheppard's topic in Kings Island
I hope she is okay, when you perform many shows a day something like this is bound to happen. I hope she makes a quick recovery and gets back on her feet. -
I like the new jingle, now just to find some way to get that on my iPod.....
-
Well I would be able to see how crowded it is but my webcam has stopped working for Diamondback. I am going on Sunday so I am hoping for not too big of crowds.

World's largest touring grill brings big taste to Kings Island
Jasper replied to coaster_junky's topic in Kings Island
That is a mighty large grill, maybe they should cook the Oktoberfest turkey legs on that -
Nice TR, I am glad you enjoyed your visit to The Point. Maverick is one of the best coaster experiences I have very had, it is a big wild out of control machine that gives me a thrill time after time. I am kind of sad to hear that you did not like Magnum. I know the ejector air can be a bit rough but it is also hard to find amazing ejector air like that anywhere else.

OFFICIAL! Son of Beast Will NOT Operate in 2010
Jasper replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
I would love to see a re-tracking with massive airtime hills, however, I doubt that will happen. Especially with not a single credible source to back up his statement. I am just going to sit back, enjoy the my times at Kings Island and hope for a press release sometime during the off-season. -
I have been 6 times this yea and everytime I go at LEAST one ride is down. Correct me if I am wrong, but they are not allowed to run Drop Tower or Invertigo during high winds, Firehawk has a lot of downtime anyway, and The Racer running with one side still baffles me. But they are big machines that need TLC every day, they can sometimes be very hard to maintain and keep operating.
