  1. You would think that, with the success of the School of Rock show and the Nick Celebration Parade, they would try to make some rock shows and parades of their own. Unless, of course, it's not within their budget, or they'd save it for someplace like Cedar Point or Knott's Berry Farm. Anyway, I love the way the Crypt cave looks with the new logo and trimmings. MUST. SEE. WHAT. IS. INSIDE.
  2. Wow, that Outer Hank's sign looks tacky on the front of the restaurant. I think it's because it looks too "new" mixed in with the decrepit (in a good way) decor of ol' Bubba's. At least now it's confirmed that Club BLOOD is returning this year for the Haunt if they're just gonna put up a big wooden fence in front of it to conceal the evil graffiti. One question: does the cave to The Crypt still look the same as when Lara Croft used to raid it back in the heyday of tombs?

    The Crypt

^As in "no more dual handgun action from Lara Croft" different reason? Or as in "it'll put a new 'spin' on the term 'head over heels' this season at Kings Island" different reason? EDIT: hehehe....I got 7-11 posts now. Now to go get me a delicious Slurpee for only a buck!
  4. Yeah, the Fun House Express show from Haunt last year was amazing even though that film is OLD. Like, OJ's White Bronco old. Or Milli Vanilli's onstage lip-sync mess-up old. I wish they would have that and The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera film playing this season. That would be better than yet ANOTHER season of SpongeBob.
  5. ^ No more cryptic clues hidden within posts, please. My small, underdeveloped mind can't handle the intense cognitive thinking these deceptive riddles demand. ....wait, I just did it. Dag nab it.
  6. Or, you know, you could say the Top Spin thing got FIRED from Geauga Lake and, on the way out, it managed to trip and FALL and get back up at a Great American amusement park in California. ....I know, I'm bad with puns.
  7. Backlot Stunt Coaster - by Billy Idol or "By The Way" by Red Hot Chili Peppers Flight Deck - "Highway to the Danger Zone" (duh) by Kenny Loggins Son of Beast - "Slither" by Velvet Revolver or by Ozzy Osbourne Flight of Fear - by System of a Down or by Muse Firehawk - by Sixx AM Racer - by Red Hot Chili Peppers Adventure Express - by Spiderbait Invertigo - "Feel Good Hit of the Summer" by Queens of the Stone Age or "The Perfect Drug" by Nine Inch Nails Vortex - "Even Flow" by Pearl Jam or "Thoughts of a Dying Atheist" by Muse The Beast - by Muse and, just 'cause I thought it'd be interesting: Runaway Reptar - "Reptilia" by The Strokes or by Strong Bad
  8. Meh. I'm not a big fan of WLW. I'm more into The Two Angry Guys on 1360 Homer. That, and the Bob and Tom Show on the Fox.
  9. What, the lack of racing in 2007? I swear, out of the four years of working at the park and some 800 rides on The Racer, I don't think I've had more raceless rides than in the '07 season.
  10. It is at the bottom of the third column of pictures, even though it's not an EXTREME close-up of the new logo. Also note they completely got rid of the Stunt Tower moniker below the main logo; it just says Scream Zone, which, actually, doesn't make sense. Flip the two names and you get Drop Zone Scream Tower, which IMO sounds better than what they came up with.
  11. I had no idea where to put this, and I didn't want to put it in the Other Parks thread 'cause it kinda relates to Kings Island, but here's a link to Great America's opening weekend photos: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ezeiza/tags/20080316/ ....INCLUDING shots of the new logos for Flight Deck and Drop Tower. I must say, the new logo for Flight Deck looks neat. But I'm STILL calling it Top Gun!!
  12. Does the Big Dipper at Geauga Lake count? I wanna see that coaster live on and not get sold off out of state somewhere.
  13. So, technically, Invertigo doesn't count? Ooh, and technically, at times you're 'going backwards' on Firehawk when facing the sky/hot, scorching sun.....
  14. Will the 'retheming' be worth waiting for? Or should we just expect a simple name change, like Drop Tower?
  15. You haven't worked four seasons as a restroom associate at an amusement park, have you?
  16. Because they don't have the funds to build enough restrooms for that. We don't even have the funds to remodel/repair some of the restrooms we already have, as I'm sure plenty of you notice the smells coming from the restrooms in front of Bubba's and beside the Stunt Track....
  17. You're just going to have to wait until April 20th, now aren't ya, Hansel? You're so cruel, Gretel.
  18. What about the shows inside the Festhaus, if there will be any shows in there?
  19. Then, technically, they wouldn't have gotten rid of SeaWorld Ohio or the two Winterfest events at Kings Island and Carowinds. I know Paramount screwed up the return of Winterfest with the high ticket prices, and I have no knowledge (or interest for that matter) of finances or money-related issues involving Cedar Fair, but they (Paramount) were at least making SOME form of money during the event. I say this because all this talk of "CF is in debt and they're in it to make money" just doesn't make any sense when only ONE park is open year-round (Knott's Berry Farm) or at least has some way of making money in the off-season for the company (again, KBF). And, even though there's no way people would like to traverse a marine park up north in the middle of January, SeaWorld was still a big draw for people up in Cleveland aside from you-know-what. It was also the only SeaWorld that was of relative closeness to anyone living in the Midwest and Northeast, without having to shell out endless amounts of money to hop a plane just to go see Shamu down in Orlando, San Antonio, or all the way over in San Diego. Finally....I, in my honest opinion, don't believe that the decision to close Geauga Lake was made AFTER the season ended. No, more like, halfway through the '07 season, when several full-timers either left or got relocated from GL to other parks in the chain. ....actually, so far, I only know of one full-timer that was relocated (the others are part of a rumor that was bing spread around not long after the announcement was made) and got moved down here to the Island: an Operations Manager of Wildwater Kingdom who moved down south and became an Operations Manager of Boomerang Bay, then suddenly became the Operations Manager for Park Services. Like I mentioned earlier I have to do a little bit of research to see if the rumors that other full-timers were relocated were true or not. But if they were, then that means they were planning to close down the park all alaong....or at least several months before the park actually closed for the season. But, like I said, I'm no expert, this is all just opinionated.
  20. Drop Tower - Summit Plummit (the Blizzard Beach one has an E in Plummet), Devil's Peak, F.E.A.R. (Freefalling Experience Among Riders) : A SCREAM-inducing Contraption, ACROPHOBIA (I came up with the name first!) The Crypt - Maniac Mine Backlot Stunt Coaster - SPEEDFREEK: License to Thrill, Route 66 (which can then become Route 666 for the Haunt) Flight Deck - JET, Phantom -or- Steel Phantom, Iron Wraith Invertigo - Face2Face (FCE2FCE license plate) Thunder Alley - ....I got nothing. Congo Falls - Disaster Falls, Dynamite Plunge -or- Dynamite Falls, Monsoonae, Maelstrom
  21. Just like it won't be long before Squidward can actually play the clarinet well and become the greatest undersea musician ever.
  22. That's what doesn't make sense. Knott's Halloween Haunt charges separate admission and kicks everyone out at around 5-ish to prepare. The former Paramount Parks' FearFests/Scarowinds were redone to resemble the Haunt at Knott's. That's why we had the Bare Bones Nights at the 'Island,' because Knott's does their Haunt from Wednesday through Sunday.
