  1. Heh, I remember back before Haunt started that DA didn't even have a car for the crash scene at the beginning of the show, so they had to steal one of worksite's cars. The overturned car by the Showplace stage used to be right where the 'family' minivan is now along the fearzone route right-side-up. Also, I wanna meet Natalie Gibson too! I've only seen parts of the show while working in Park Services, but she still kicks ass from what little I've seen.
  2. Yeah, just walking around admiring the scenery or just riding rides is completely fine. It even gives the kiddies a chance to partake in laughing at the unfortunates having the crap scared out of them/chased across the park/tortured with a chainsaw inches from their legs.
  3. Still, even with the capacity shrinkage, knowing the kick-ass job The Beast crew already does regularly getting mass riders per hour, it shouldn't be much of an issue. But then, I'm not, nor have I ever been, a ride attendant, so it's almost like I have no idea what I'm talking about.
  4. Looks more as if it goes back and forth between Geauga and Knott's Berry Farm. Several shots of the commercial are from Knott's mazes/scare zones (13 Axe Murder Manor & Silver Bullet Mine Town).
  5. I went up and touched it. ....wait, never mind, that was when it was actually up. ..............I'm gonna shut up now.
  6. Up until this year, Friday nights have been unbelievably slow, leaving no lines for both mazes and rides. However, and even though we're only two weekends into it, last Friday's attendance had clearly doubled from opening weekend , meaning it's quite possible for it to double again into what is usually a regular summer weekday at the park.
  7. This post I'm putting up is, in no way, directed toward standbyme: These parents that are complaining about the direction the park took for this year's event are beginning to annoy me. Only because these are the same exact parents that, several years ago, were complaining about FearFest and its attractions. There wasn't even anything mature or adult-oriented about the 'Fest in previous years that resembled what Club Blood or Dead Awakening is now. I can recall the event had been severely dumbed down to accommodate the families and make it a "family event", such as opening up attractions at 3:00 in the afternoon, and having generic-themed attractions (the standard haunted house, wooded trail, clown maze, and actual 'maze') within the park. And these same parents had kept complaining about the little ones getting too scared, hiding them away from, or pushing/shoving/knocking scareactors out of the way, just so we were 'aware' that we couldn't scare them. The situation had, not surprisingly, gotten worse in 2005, when both cornSTALKERS and and an early worksite (dubbed the Gauntlet) debuted as walk-through fear zones, attractions where you could just waltz right through w/o waiting in a line. Families were clueless about these two attractions and were blindsided by armies of scarecrows, maniacs, and chainsaws outside of the mazes an into the regular park. Hence, the reason why now the fear zones have lines attached to them is because of too many complaints from families, again. ....so, back to the present.... Really, there should be NO reason for families to begin complaining now about the upgrade, and they have been warned more than enough about it (although the newscasts don't do it enough justice). You've had three full months of time to go to the park when the kids were out of school. You have your own Halloween event for the little ones, complete with mazes just for them and all sorts of Trick-or-Treat-y goodness in the daytime. Don't even begin to get upset if/when the little ones get too frightened and pretend you were 'unaware' of the warnings that were given to you. Like Tassels and a few others said, show your kids pictures of what goes on during the Haunt BEFOREHAND, to see if they can handle it. If they can, great. If not, DON'T BRING THEM.
  8. Seeing as how last year they transformed Wings Diner into a buffet for FearFest and now, this year, Wings is now officially a Buffet-type restaurant, I wouldn't doubt the possibility of renovating and reopening IR next year to the public.
  9. ....anyone happen to see a little blue alien running around Action Zone this past weekend? If so, tell him Invader ZIM called. He wants his robot flying pig thing back.
  10. So, um, yeah, just got a sneak peek at Club Blood earlier today (hopefully get another chance later tonight), and, uh.....yeah, it's gonna be GOOOOD. No spoilers here, but this attraction definitely deserves the R-rating people have been giving it. Not because of the proposed adult content and sexuality, but because of the gore. Lots and LOTS of GORE. As in, do NOT take your children through this maze. I wouldn't be surprised to hear experiences of guests vomiting or fainting while walking through parts of the Club. Again, I won't give away any spoilers about the attraction, but if the talent is as good as the environment (how can vampire strippers be bad talent?), then the hype for Club Blood is well worth it.
  11. Thanks for giving me a target to scare Friday night. Fortunately for him, you're in CornSTALKERS, which is the least scary and weakest of all of the scare zones. BURN!!!! Oh, that was classic. As for the roamers in the pathways question.....if I were to give you an exact number, it wouldn't seem like that many, but also remember this-there are four major scare zones now that encompass entire themed areas of the park: Slaughter Street (Int. Street) WasteLand (Action Zone/official Haunt name is Area 51, apparently) The Strip (Coney Mall/official Haunt name is Coney MAUL) Ghost Town (Rivertown) I decided to rename the areas. They just sound cooler this way. Anyway, there'll be a LOT of monsters around, no matter where you're at. Aliens, goblins, witches, werewolves, demented cowboys, bloodthirsty pirates, mutated scientists, freakish man-animal hybrids, reanimated corpses.....you name it, we have it, running around somewhere out there in the darkness, waiting for you.
  12. From a majority of the rumors around here (so I'd take this with a grain of salt), apparently there'll be an age restriction placed on a few attractions, namely Club Blood and, possibly, Dead Awakening. Which, of course, is almost unlikely to occur, management stopping the queue line every so often telling a random family their kids can't go through the attraction, said parents arguing with management, argument holding up the line, etc. All in all, I, personally, am not worried about the proposed abundance of sensuality Blood is over hyping with, as long as it's officially scary. If not, then all that hype was for nothing.
  13. I can't wait for the parents that bring their kids to the Haunt start complaining about the event being too intense or the Torture Chamber being too freaky and disturbing for their little ones.
  14. Screw Dinosaur. Indy's much better than that, even if it is 'older' than the dinosaurs. Or, rather, I'd like to have The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman at KI. Just to add a cool 3D effect to the experience.
  15. Yeah, well, sooner or later, they're going to have to build a bathroom back in X-Base, especially if they decide they want to keep using the two Haunt maze locations back there for Halloweens in the coming years. You don't know how much of a pain it is to walk from Psychopath's exit all the way to the bathroom next to The Vortex when all the Port-O-Pooties are full with a line for each one on a Saturday night.
  16. Yeah, I was just getting ready to ask that. I keep hearing there's still two shows that have been unannounced (although I already know what they are....just not telling), so I just don't understand what the reasoning is for not already announcing it to the public already. Especially when you keep on promoting that there will be 13 attractions.
  17. If we have multiple KICentralers attend tonight, should we have a Meet Spot Place when the event begins? Or do you just wanna wing it and find each other on our own? PS: I'm there.
  18. Season Passholders get in free this year. Next year, ya'll need to start paying to get into the event. No joke, mateys. ....oh yeah, and I changed my nickname to Maniac, for the complete wild and unpredictable mannerisms one actor (read: ME) can do. If you see a creeper on the ground lying in the fetal position, then crawling up to someone's ankles, and finally hopping up on a planter ledge and screaming like a howler monkey all in the matter of a split second.... ....yeah, that'll be me.
  19. 'cept Tom Waits is a cool musician and his songs rock in a creepily awesome way. Specially Cemetery Polka and We're All Mad Here, both of which should be used for this year's CarnEVIL maze.
  20. From what's on the main PKI site, apparently the old Circus maze is getting a complete makeover and rehaul, as it, like someone else hinted at, is pulling a Day Shift as a kid-friendly circus maze for Nick or Treat. However, once 7pm rolls in, the Happy Fun Time Theme Song cuts off, the giggling of the schoolchildren fades, and the real Big Top performance begins. ....basically, yeah, Circus of Horrors is getting a retheme to the name of CarnEvil.
  21. I don't know if this should be labeled 'Bursting the Bubble' or not, considering the wording is a bit confusing to me, but it seems as if they are, in fact, charging for Halloween Haunt as discount tickets for Friday and Saturday nights: http://www2.cedarfair.com/kingsisland/shop...l_admission.cfm Unfortunately, it doesn't say anything involving Season Passholder discounts at all, and this is the only page that pops up for General Admission tickets. So I don't know if this is just an online discount for regular admission (like you'd find at, like, Wendy's, or Kroger) and paying at the park means paying full price, or this is the upcharge that was rumored for awhile only in the form of the general admission being 'slashed' in half. Any more details, please? EDIT: Also just checked the information for Nick or Treat this year. Apparently, NoT will be closing at 5:30pm instead of 7:00 on both Saturday and Sunday, with the Haunt starting at 7pm Saturday nights.
  22. They really ought to get rid of Superstition; that ride is NOT scary at all, barely entertaining as well. I thought last year's Fun House Express was much better, and that movie is actually OLDER than Superstition, too (I believe so).
  23. From a few sneak peeks last week, I'd say the layouts and interiors of the mazes will remain relatively unchanged. A few people have suggested that a good chunk of the improvements this year are going to the costume and make-up departments, to make the monsters look even scarier than before. Also, and I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but the press releases say there will be 13 attractions for the Haunt, yet only 11 are listed right now. Well, I asked around, and it's confirmed that there are going to be a total of thirteen attractions. An obvious guess is that the Hauncert Series may be coming back, along with that Heckle and Howl improv show, although I can imagine the improv routine will be more adult-oriented than last year's offering. Although, it would be really cool to have two more fear zones available this year, or perhaps one additional zone and one additional show. Maybe copy Kings Dominion's upcoming VooDoo Swamp or CarnEVIL scare zone. Speaking of CarnEVIL, looking at the two boards on the opposite sides of the Theater, there's an attraction with this moniker. So I'm thinking to myself, it's either the official rename of the Circus of Horrors, or a new scare zone. I personally doubt the latter and am just expecting it to be the Circus's rename. But, hey, anything could happen.
