  1. Everyone keeps talking about how great PKI is and I wanted to start a post where everyone can write and tell us why they think KI is such a great place to be at. If you work there or not, please tell us your stories and tell us why you think that. For me, it has to be the crews and the atmosphere. From the time we start in March til the time we end in November, we are with each other almost everyday 24 hrs, 7 days (sometimes 8 days, lol) a week. Espically when we are in full season. We get to know each other more then just friends, almost like a huge family. We have fun and always try to make the day even better. Of course we all have our ups and downs, but thats what holds us all together. By the time the season comes to an end, we are all ready for the break and are counting down the days when KI will close for the season. However, after a month of KI being close, we get "home sick" and can't wait til the season opens up in march. But, when it opens up again, we all get back together and the good times start again. Doing this for over 4 years was a great wonderful experience that I will never forget. To all my good friends, I miss you and we need to get back together again!
  2. You might be a PKI addict if...you get on and post while at work.

If its as bad as they say it is where the high will only be in the 40's, KI may not even open. Remember the 1st weekend KI was SUPPOSED to be open but closed shortly after b/c it was too cold to run the rides. Even FOF does bad in cold weather. So, before you go to the park, you may want to call ahead and find out if its open.
  4. I dont know if this goes here or not and if it does not, I am sorry. Anyway, while i was searching for PKI's history, I came across this site. It lists all the accidents that we reported, not only at PKI, but in other parks too! It lists them from 1998 to present. In the address bar, you need to change the year to go to the next year or click the link at the bottom of each page to take you to the home page. I thought it was pretty interesting and you find out about some things that was never released to the public. Thought I would share! Have fun!
  5. F5, must say that that was an awsome movie. Have you thought about seeing if KI would use it??? I didnt see nothing wrong w /it all. I want to do the same thing for FOF, and a few other rides, but I cant edit movies, not like you did anyway. That must have took a lot of work. KEEP IT UP!!!!!!!!
  6. I think their sign out front says that too.
  7. HA HA HA. He got you there. Sorry, thought it was funny
  8. As I said before They never turn the drum lights during normal operation with the exception of the last ride of the night. Sometimes, if everyone wants them one, we would turn them on. Also, as someone mentioned, they prob forget to turn off the switches in the drum it self. Trust me, It was an accident and you will prob never see fof again w/ all the lights on.
  9. One reason why the lights were off when you were riding FOF during Fear Fest is because after 12am, the lights on are on a timer and they turn off. So, part of Fear Fest is completely in the dark! That makes it really hard for the ride op to see the train as it goes thru the ride. They never turn the drum lights during normal operation with the exception of the last ride of the night. Sometimes, if everyone wants them one, we would turn them on.
  10. do u have a link to that?
  11. I have to say that the best ride to work on is FOF. A lot of cool things about that ride plus, It WAS the only ride that launch you, and not the chain lift. Also, I loved the themeing of it!
  12. FOF/Z 4-ever replied to moore's topic in Coming Attractions
The theme has nothing to do with the rating (1-5). The ratings deal with the intensity of the ride and the only reason why KI started doing that was so people could rate the ride and know which ride they may or may not ride. Besides, by the looks of things, you will be able to see the themeing of the ride w/o riding the ride it self. Plus, there is nothing in there that I personally think a younger kid cant see on regualr TV today. Just my opion though.

I agree. They Should add it to the Paramount Story or add it somewhere around that area.
  14. That I did and it was more like you and others picking me up and locking me into a train, lol.
  15. Not to take any attention away from Josh Page, but I would have to agree with him. KI was much much more then just a job. It was a family. I had my best time there, met my first and the only love of my life who I am happily with, and met all my wonderful friends, who to this date, I still keep in contact with. It meant soo much that I actually cried at the end of the '03 season, as I locked up Flight of Fear for the very last time, as I clocked out for the very last time, and as I handed over my ID to a manager and went thru the security post and said goodbye to the park. :'( It will always be in my heart and Thank You to everyone who made it worth my while. I will miss you all!
  16. Maybe they are not evening planing to banning smoking in the park itself, but perhabs in the restraunts only or any indoor building/ride???
  17. Yes, but we all know that people cant read signs
  18. you can still see them on breaks.
  19. Then why are you still there? It is a great place to work at, i had my best times there, found my girl of my dreams there and above all, everyone is family! So, if you hate working there, why are working there?!?!?
  20. AutoCad would probably be the best idea. You can do almost anything in "free space" and then convert everything into 3-D. It is very expensive though, unless you go to an University and they may sale it a little cheeper, esp if a class needs it. This is what I want to do withe the Flight of Fear. I want to make an exact replica of the plans, put it all into 3-D, then put it into a Flyby model which is like what RT3 does, but better. You can program it to do anything you want and I am hoping to have it go through all the Ques, then into the saucer, onto the train, go thru the entire ride and end up in Unload. Only problem is I dont have the deminions of the ride or the building. If anyone knows where I can find this, I would appreciate it.
  21. I seriously doubt they cancel Fear Fest. As I have said in the past Halloween is the second largest holiday. Haunted attractions bring in tons of revenue each year. The weather is pretty stable during October for the most part and all but the water rides can operate. And lets not forget about the added bonus of perks for people who buy season passes. As i said before, i dont think they are either, but i was just saying that i have a inside source that is reliable who told me that. I dont think they will, but who knows for sure.
  22. FOF/Z 4-ever replied to Jasper's topic in Kings Island
    I would if i could
  23. I have a source who just told me that they are really thinking about not doing fear feast this year, but do winterfest instead. So who knows, maybe they are really going to do it.
  24. Yes, FOF did open in the year 1996, but in the 2001 season, it opened late b/c of the trains. They were not on the track and the ride was not ready to be open for public that season on time. Some rides dont open on time in the beginning of the season.
  25. why? clearly it seems to be a great topic to talk about.
