  1. Wow Cory, didn't know something that trivial would cause such a ruckus on your end. My post was clearly in good fun and if you didn't see that, then...well, I'm not going to say I'm sorry, because that's just your loss. Now, that being said...While I don't mind that it took them some time to update the page, I'm sure there are those that might have a bit of a problem. Even if they were still hammering out the details on the Paramount name/licensing they could've very easily updated the properties page to reflect the purchase. Instead, if an outsider were to come looking for info on Cedar Fair, they'd be presented at first with a map of 14 theme/amusement park properties (not counting water parks here). When they go to "Properties" to get more info on each park, though, they were presented with only 7 properties. Big difference. For a corporate web page with some vital information, I'd hope they would update that info quickly...especially since it was such a large acquisition.
  2. Thrill Biscuit, there's a huge difference between a park of Kings Island's size and prominence in the industry and that of something like Bonfan...err, Gilroy Gardens. Besides enthusiasts, CF unit-holders (and others close to the business/industry) and those who live near Gilroy really don't know what the park is. Gilroy Gardens Family Theme Park says to a family living in, say...New England (who might happen to be planning a trip out west) "There's a theme park in Gilroy that has fun for the whole family" Bonfante Gardens Family Theme Park was more of a "Huh? And that is...where?"
  3. Haha. "Keeping up" or "finally getting around to doing it"?
  4. You should hopefully have an idea...your question was just answered a couple posts up. They're going to be painting it once it is assembled. They're professionals...I think they'll be able to handle it.
  5. Interesting...missed that tidbit. Even still, Cedar Fair isn't just letting Geauga Lake go down the drain...they want the park to succeed. Don't forget they're a business in it to make money...they put down some money on that park and will try hard to make it a successful park.
  6. Why does everyone think GL is leaving? All Cedar Fair is doing is de-flagging the park. Six Flags tried to make the park something it was not and Cedar Fair is trying to return the park to what it was always intended to be: a smallish family park...NOT some major thrill park. As for getting rid of the animals, that was something out of Cedar Fair's control, I believe. If I recall correctly, the animal park was Sea World's/Six Flag's. The animal park was not included in the sell to CF. Geauga Lake will be around for a bit longer, I'd assume.
  7. Awesome news. I've never ordered a brochure before...how can I sign up for one?
  8. I want to agree with you but at the same time, I've been studying the KD 2007 map and their Happy Days Diner stayed Happy Days.

  15. I won't be smiling if Coke is still in the parks come April. As for the nifty song...I think it'll be updated a bit, though it doesn't have the same ring to it: "...Pepsi Cola is the drink for you Three fifty, three fifty, three fifty It's nifty nifty nifty"
  16. Looks like those people standing in line for MaXair have a bit of a wait...
  17. People should care..that might end up being the shifts at the Island in the next couple years for all we know. I know CP has similar shifts to those of GL's.

  19. Have the taken them out in the past? You seem like the kind of guy that would have been in the park in the off-season. I'm hoping for confirmation that this is indeed the first time they've been removed.
  20. lol yeah, they just put them up. Umm, I've never really been in the park in the off-season, so could someone that has tell me if they normally remove the Coke vending machines or is this one of those Maureen hints? http://multimedia.pki.com/images/news/CIMG1305_mc3.JPG
  21. I have the '04, '05, '06 regular season maps as well as the '03 and '06 Fearfest, and '05 Winterfest maps. (Thanks Topgun! ) I also purchased a 1993 park map and guide which I'm very proud of. I own the *first* and *last* Paramount's Kings Island maps. ...I can't wait to pick up my 2007 Cedar Fair-style Kings Island map! (Hopefully they offer a souvenir version as well!)
  22. Looks like we may be treated to Winter Photos of the park sometime soon...the photo gallery is empty for now, but the category was just added: http://www3.cedarfair.com/kingsisland/news/list.cfm?mc_id=97
  23. Wow. Up to 5. I must've caught that at just the right time. lol
