Of course you wouldnt know, you go to that concrete city across the river aka No Knowledge University. Hey, let's talk about this! I DO go to NKU and am part of the college of business... an INERNATIONALLY acredited college, mind you. PLUS, when I graduate and get a job, I'm probably going to be successful based off of my intellect and cunning, not a piece of paper saying that I have a bachelor's degree! And you'll probably end up being my boss, but thats ok cause I'll end up being Bills.

Count me in, just hope all the budays can make it and please no newport aquarium unless everyone REALLY wants to do it.!
-
^Are you sure about that? I'm pretty sure that just became a Paramount Parks company policy that their PTC wood coaster trains be outfitted with seatbelts. There are still PTC trains out there of the same make at other parks that do not have seatbelts. I think it was just a PP decision.

Correct, small portions of the two coasters are usually re-tracked over time. Although, for the 2006 season, The Beast received quite a bit more than it usually did. Almost the entire double helix was retracked and a lot of work done to the ride. The wood coaster maintenace team does a great job and I miss working with them.

There hasnt been an on-ride photo installed on that ride, nor has there been any mention of it nor proof that ones being installed. The on ride photos use their own flashes and the area is needed to be as bright as can be so that the picture turns out well even at night. A fast shutter speed on the cameras is needed, meaning bright light. If anything, the lights on the lift hill would help the camera out and according to the state of ohio, any portion of a ride area where a ride attendant is permitted to go in case a temporary delay must be illuminated. For example, the flood lights around and on The Beast lift hills and brake run, if an attendant is going to go guest relate to a train, the train must be stopped in these areas and the area must be properly illuminated. If the lights in fact have been removed then I'm willing to say their either getting new lights or that track is gonna take a flight down south soon!

I believe The Bat was the first full circut suspended coaster, I have the video you're talking about, and I dont believe the one shown was full circut but I could be wrong.
-
^You can only see the taller parts of the coaster from the road, not necesarily the station or que or anything, for that youd have to be in the parking lot and owuld have to be an employee.

PKICentral.com Flyover in the Fall
Gordon Bombay replied to Dane's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Great pictures Dane! Thanks to Gabriel (Captain Nemo) and his father for taking us up! That was a time I'll never forgtet. I've flown on commercial jets before but that doesnt compare to the flying we did that day. I thought Magnum gave good airtime, but that was before I flew with Gabriel and his dad. You can view my pictures in my personal gallery here. -Also, we shot lots of video on this trip which will be seen in the upcoming PKICentral film "The Coasters of Kings Island". -
^well I mean with all your experience in engineering and relocating and designing attractions I guess you could say that. *rolls eyes* But when did RZ he knew what we are getting? He said land was being cleared behind The Racer, and everyone with him and myself on PKIC day saw it to. He never said he knew what it was for, for all we know they could be replacing the grass.

Great TR jesee, especially the video you put together, it brought back so many memories of when I went to WDW for the first time back in 2004! I actually didnt care for the animal kingdom back then, but that was before everest and I was in a very bad mood that day. However, Disney World, no matter what your age, is one hell of a good experience especially when shared with family!

^Well you can blame the mics being too loud on SOB_TOM and his tech services cronies, god I hate those guys!

I agree with RZ and woofer, the train display is great and of course free, and theres plenty to do downtown you just have to know where to look and what you wanna do. Im looking forward to going to see the new and improved fountain square soon, I was down there a few times this sumemr and fall, once wtih Boddah1994, and the construction was terrible I hope the work paid off. Another thing to do down here is visit Unuin Terminal and its many museums, Im 18 and the childrens museum I still have fun at. The Omnimax theatre is great there to. In a few weeks I'll be going down there to catch a train to chicago.

As PKIBeast said, it was a combination of both rider error and ride itself. Yes, she was heavily intoxicated during the ride. Due to the lack of a seat divider in the capsule, when she went to flip it upside down, she slid right over to the other side and out she came. Sad, I actually enjoyed Flight Commander. I was fortunate to get to ride the version out at PGA before they got rid of it. Yet another PKI flat ride to bite the dust. - Todd Hey Todd, thanks for the info and for clearning some of that up. I have a question for you, now a days ride manufacturer's reccomend that when a seat is empty the lap bar be down regardless, or thats atleast how the policy at PKI has been in recent years whether thats manufacturer's reccomendation or park policy but wasnt the woman riding Flight Commander riding alone and the seat next to her had the restraint up and thats why she was so easily flung? I dont know if thats true and always took it with a grain of salt but thought maybe you would know. Also, why was PGA's flight trainer removed and did any of the other Taft/Keco parks have these? -Thanks

I gave him my vote, from multiple IP's! FIGHT THE SYSTEM!

The Villian is the worst coaster ever. It is far worse than SOB, Id rather take my chances on SOB then ride the villiain again.

^The ones in Octoberfest across from The Racers

Yes, they didnt believe in rotating rides and marketing htem as new attractions, but now they've accumulated about 1 billion dollars in debt and I'm sure while they're still a profitbale company, they're going to be pinching their pennys a little. In a recent conference call Kinzel said "geauga lakes footprint is too big for what it brings in" and noted that the park has soaring maintenance costs and too small a staff to cover all the maintenace needs. Could X flight be moved to PKI? Yeah its a possibility and I'm sure theres some who know but do they tell the internet? Nope. No one can give credit nor take it away to this rumor because none of us have inside ties that are so reliable that we can officialy categorize this rumor as true or false. If you read Geauga Guide certain people claiming to be x flight ride crew members say it could never happen, but speaking as a former ride op, the ride ops are never told anything confidential and never receive vital info before the GP. Anyone whos running their mouth claiming to know something doesnt really know whats going on. THe top of the coaster can be seen from the parking lot but you cant see the station or que line from the road. So if someone wants to show some proof, some local should just walk up in the lot and snap a few pics.

When I went this summer there was very little crowd for a friday when the park was open till 10 and we had most of what we wanted to do done by 4 o clock. It was a great park but is in no way family friendly. Even with light crowds it was near impossible to manuever around the midways. The park needs a lot done to it and needs a family friendly image.

PKICentral announces new film!
Gordon Bombay replied to Gordon Bombay's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
They'll be in it, dont worry, due to some camera problems and computer problems I wasn't feeling to good about putting that footage on my PC yet but there will be plenty historical fotoage in the vid, dont you folks worry! -
^heh, wasn't supposed to be, just funny how things turn out.

While most of what you said was right, a lot of it is just urban legend. X flight was never purchased with intent to come to PKI, Stealth was. Paramount Parks originalyl wanted to install Stealth at PKI but the current park manager, Tim Fischer, declined the concept and instead wanted to go through with the Son of Beast" idea. Paramount Parks then decided to install the coaster at Paramount's Great America. After onyl a few seasons Stealth was planned to be removed from PGA and relocated to another park so that the landlocked PGA could install a waterpark. The proposal was given to Tim Fischer of PKI once again, this time PKI was offered to have Stealth relocated to them, but they passed it up in favor of other concepts and the ride was moved to Paramount's Carowinds.

The operator is told to say "mechanical delay/difficulty/problem" no matter what the problem is. They're not going to tell you, or anyone the problem no matter what the situation to prevent morons like you from misenterpreting the situation and causing bad guest perception. I was working, I know why it was down, you dont work there, you dont know.
-
Lets get some things straight, do you know anything about manufacturer's reccomendations regarding wind and weather for both rides? If so, why dont you share with us? You dont know why either one was down or why either one was up.
