That was uncalled for..... Dont worry, this guy talks all tough like hes some big shot, hes just some loser on the internet who no longer works for the park either, and unlike hauntguy, this jackass has no good favor upon higher up positions.
-
^If you're trying to prove that, then dont use this source, the guy who "warned" KI has no more professional opinion than the ordinary guest. I'd rather take the states PROFESSIONAL opinion on this one rather than the ASO guy. This guy reminds me of that moron Paul Draebek who just because he rides the voyage all day and pays to be in a club that he is an expert on amusement park safety. And whos that one ACE fool who has the site dedicated to showing pictures of ride operators making mistakes? You think he would put meaning in his life or that he'd have something better to. One of these days......indiana jones....

Is this some kind of joke? What makes this guy more qualified than the state? Too bad a**holes like this win more often than lose, this is just more bad press out there against the ride and even if the ride is qualified to open again, it will still have things like this looming over it, does CF want to keep poring money in to fighting a bad reputation? I think we'll eventually see a new coaster in a spot were a 218 foot monster once stood rather than any 17 year old or 13 year old arrows.

PKICentral announces new film!
Gordon Bombay replied to Gordon Bombay's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
On sunday I will be meeting with Ryan and the rest of the gang at 11 A.M. under the tower and will be filming throughout the day as we go around the park riding rides. Theres a few more coasters i need to wrap up just a few small shots on so any of you could be lucky enough to get into the video. Not only will this film be coming out this offseason but just yesterday my self and a few other contributors/staff members were able to participate in something quite interesting that has lead to a short film that I will be able to release soon, most likely sooner than coasters of KI and while I cant tell you any details yet, lets just say its a little "too close for missles." -
What New Attraction Can We Expect From Cedar Fair
Gordon Bombay replied to RailRider's topic in Coming Attractions
Well put RZ, I'm sure the park did plan to add a major coaster in the future while still maintaining their "fun for families, something for everyon focus" as opposed to CP and SFMM who dropped major coasters in just about every year or other year and didnt really see any attendance increases or ticket sale spikes. PKI realized family oriented marketing and spending was the way to go to make the park profitable. I definently think that a major coaster would've come to the park eventually, well maybe not under CBS, but definently under viacom, they're staples of parks that can not be ignored. -
Nickroedl, pwnt.

Racer is essentially two different rollercoasters right next to eachother, they can operate independently and each ahve their own PLC systems. They're not morpheous racing coasters like the ones at kennywood, so raelly each racer only has one lift hill. Two Coasters, one attraction, two seperate lift hills.

PKICentral announces new film!

Why actually, I sure did, unlike certain Flight of Fear fans who like to take illegal POV's and post them in an asylum that gets no views Railraider, the video will include some footage of some of the coasters with the fearfet decorations set up and some taxi jam footage while it was operating during this past winterfest. Since the film will focus more on the history of the coasters and not the actual park (although maybe a new film such as that will be out eventually muwahaha) theres just bits and clips of fearfest and winterfest. I was not the one taking the Point of View videos thank you. Anyway the video is great. Oh thats right, you didnt do it for PKIA, it was UTZ. Thanks for the kudos. -
Max Pass Question
Gordon Bombay replied to TOPGUN1993's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
ah ah ah, no one knows for sure yet, and those who do arent going to tell. Well, maybe theyll hint at it. -
Is the processing center open in the offseason at all? I plan to buy a bass later in the offseason from a local place and dont want to have to wait in that horrid line opening day.

Funny you should mention that, as I was throwing the trailer together tonight I came across those hillarious tapes. Unfortuanently a few of the segments were lost due to the tape being a poor TDK tape that cuts out after the first 15 minutes of recording but I do have some of your channing tatum inpressions. Who knows, maybe they'll find their way into the bonus content of the dvd version or maybe they'll be on the net soon. But yes I do have them if youd like them. -

^The full feature is currently being wrapped up and edited with feedback from the PKIC staff and contributors. The a free, high quality, full length version will be available to all PKIC members sometime this offseason and Ryan and I are throwing around some ideas to possibly sell a full quality DVD that will include some added extras you cant find on the net, or anywhere for that matter. No matter what though, it will definently be available free once the full and final version is released but the DVD + Extras idea is still being tossed around. -
Today I am proud to announce PKICentral's new film: THE COASTERS OF Kings Island! The site has huge plans for the offseason. Great TR tom, I'm glad to see your nano is back in proper operating fashion. I went to CP for the first time this year with UncleHenry and fell in love with the place, its rides atleast, I didnt care for its guest relations employees. Its quite an excellent park.
-
I use a Sony DCR-HC21 and it has the night shot (night vision) feature on it, and while it can eat through a battery fairly quickly, its an amazing feature.

I'll take Bugs Bunny National Park anyday.

^And that my friends is why Hauntguy should be planning PKI's fearfest! Those ideas are so awesome, I especially like what you said about the circus of horros idea, i always wondered why they didnt put it in that tent next to the showplace and make it like a circus. I like the grunge/industrial idea, I was really pleased with the workzone this year and to see that on a much larger scale in AZ would be excellent. The park really went all out on Fearfest this year and even when its been crowded its been a great time and has only gotten better as the weeks have gone on.

It varies, usually its just up the park managements discression. Most of the wood coasters (excluding SOB) will be open and most of the rides should be ok. The steel coasters are primarily designed for warmer temps so they may close depending on how the temp. gets but like I said its usually up to the management and maintenances discretion. Regardless, there were will still be lots to do and plenty of fun, and although its cold be prepared for crowds. Hope you guys have a great time and hope your little brother has an excellent burthday!

I dont know if anyoen remembers from back in 2005 when there was a fire at one of the plants where the trains were being assembled. But, on the IJST construction tour the question was posed to Seibert and he said that the fire had not damaged, but delayed production of the trains. Three were originally sent to PCW, two to PKI. One of the three was moved from PCW to PKI so each would have two. Premeir was able to finish the third train for each park on time for their rides to open to the public. PKI doesnt have the facilities to construct a new train even if they had the blue prints, they could assemble it though as long as Premeir had fabricated it. As far as I know, all three trains are the same, except for one which has a special door on its white car to allow easier acess for persons with certain dissabilities. I remember the question was also asked to Seibert about temprature and wind and what the computer of the ride would display. As far as what I remember what he said and from the requirements I remember from working there, the only real weather condition that had a major effect on IJ was the cold (excluding the general ones for all rides like rain, hail, lightning etc.) The steel coasters can not run in colder temps that the wooden coasters are allowed to. I know Todd, hes a great guy and an excellent employee, but most of the time the rumors that fly around that rides dept. are just as good and bad as the rumors on here or those other sites. All 3 trains are probably the same but maybe someone from tech services could answer us since they repaired the audio systems........oh wait.....they didnt. It's strange how PKD's and PCW's audio works.

Actually Rail Rider, the exact quote of that guy was: "I will no longer go to Kings Island untill they put the camprground back in. I will not support an organization that does not support all forms of lodging" And so, the revolutionary boycot of Kings Island began... ...and failed.

While I dont doubt you Don, but where did you hear that?
