INTAMIN or B&M?
Gordon Bombay replied to The-Snapper's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Yeah that guy who took pictures of the patriot track sitting outside its manufacturing facility really screwed things up for the rest of us. What a jerk! -
I will get to be one of the last people to go to the bathroom at Holiday World this year!!1!!!11!! Oh yeah, Sunday! Gotta love those HW bathrooms at night!

I always make guests aware of the non smoking areas when they are smoking outside them, usually they are nice about it and instead of forcing them to put out their cigarettes I make sure they walk over to the area, however when they are rude sometimes they dont listen and just flip you off, curse at you, or just shrug and walk away. If you told an employee that someone was smoking and they jsut shrugged at you Mike, you should definently report them. One problem with the ban is that PKI doesnt really have the force to enforce it. While security does a fantastic job, they cant constantly look for smokers and while employees like myself try to enforce it, sometimes we arent taken seriously. Especially the younger ones. Its a shame that it even has to be that way and that some people arent eve courteous at all.

By the way, I am not lying about this. This was featured in the Enquirer a few days ago. She will be there signing autogrpahs around 12 noon. Im trying to find a link to the article but the search feature on the Enquirer's website sucks!

Its pretty much common sense that The Racer train was not running on SOB and I highly doubt that The Bat train was running on Top Gun.

This looks like another family coaster

Yes, Ive read the concept, theres also a feature where in the pre-show room as you watch, the floor drops one inch to make everyone jump and get startled. The thing with the dive machine only showed a picture of some art concepts of the theming and a pciture of a dive machine car, spinning and twirling describes a wild mouse coaster and te track layout featured in one of the surveys, the same one as the Top Gun Supersonic, was too tightly put together to be a B&M.
-
Where was there a picture of a dive machine? Dive machines are not compact at all and while Id rather have a B&M than a wild muse any day, I dont see it working with the theme.
-
Was it a PKI concept put out by Paramount or just one someone made? From the pictures I've seen on the PKI concepts, it was a wild mouse.
-
Why? It would still have the problems that it has right now. The design of the entire ride is what makes it rough. Plus, it would require Intamin trains designed to take a loop and take the angles that SOB does.
-
You want bigger thrills and Im not trying to star crap or anything but if its a wild mouse dont get your hopes up, it probably would only be as fast as if nto slower than IJ. Although theme would completely kick @$$ really the only thrilling thing it has going for it is a 90 degree drop. I agree with Joker, I think an X-Car coaster would do great or a Eurofighter with the 93 degree drop. Also scoob, when was there a concept for an Adams Dive machine, I think the only reason people think that is because of the popularity of B&M dive machines, but B&M's are big coasters and from reading the concept, it seems more like a wild mouse coaster. Ghost is right, the Hautned Mansion at disney is amazing. I think the best thing they could do with the Adams Family coaster, is right before they drop you 90 degrees they have the effect where you look in the mirror and see the ghost sitting with you. I definently want and Addams Family ride, but it hasnt been confirmed if Paramount has the rights for an amusement ride themed to AF.

Running a Racer train on SOB? come on. When would they do this? This would require taking a whole train off one ride, modifying it, running it on another ride, taking it off that ride, modifing it again, and having it ready to run by the next operation day. That means they wouldve had to have done it between after sunday night close and the day the park opened the next friday. Not im possible but come on, when theres many other things that need to be done, they wouldnt do that. As for the trains I dont see what your all complaining about, its the track that makes it rough, the trains have little effect. Your better off with those Premier trains than anything else. If those trains didnt keep you in so tightly then youd be thrown around even more, and why do the trains get thrown around? Because of the tracks state, construction, and design. Be glad that the Permiter Surveilance Vehicles hug you so tightly, it could be worse. Imagine SOB with the older PTC trains, one lap bar and no head rest.......ouch!

Are both sides of the Action FX theatre open? I was reading the map the other day during work and it was describing the NICK or TREAT attractions and it said there was a kiddy 3d show or something with moving seats. Are they showing that instead of Spongebob currently?

The Beast went much faster before it had the trim breaks, it would go much faster down the hills after the first and 2nd lifts. I believe The Beast has slowed down considerably.

You can say that again! I worked Pride Night, unsure of what it was going to be like. Im not GLBT or have anything against the people at Pride night, I just didnt know what to expect. It was a good experience, that was definently the nicest and one of the best crowds at Kings Island. Withe the exception of a few drunk individuals who needed their friends to help them up, there were no guest problems and unlinke on other days, everyone told me thank you after helping them. Pride night definently has the most courteous crowds.

Fearfest only made me jump a few times too, and I wasnt horrified or petrified. But Im that way with all haunted houses cause I know its not real. However, some people are easily frigtened by that stuff and the look I saw on some peoples faces and the reactions they got when being scared was priceless. Fearfest was great. I wanna work as one of those sliding guys with the sparking knee pads.

The Beast was an airtime machine when it had the buzz bars, and can still be if you know how to not staple yourself. Put your lap bar down so its atleast an inch off your leg and ride in the 2nd car from the back and over the first and 2nd hills you will get plenty of air. After that, your likely to be stapled, but if you survive that then hey..its a good ride. Snapper's right, the trims do ruin The Beast, theyre not even played down, when you ride in the front you feel them and theyre way too obvious.
-
That one employee at Beast, whos always on his toes and taking care of guests while not losing his sense of humor or sense of sarcasm. God darn he's good at what he does. I think his name is Rodney.......errr..........ron.....oh yeah.....Ronny! darn, hes good. Oh yeah and that one sup. at white water canyon named Brandon aint bad either.

Mission Impossible Stunt Spectacular
Gordon Bombay replied to Skippy's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
If its a limited engagement then why are they buidling a new theatre for it? Could this mean other new high quality shows in the future? -
I believe that is the night, Whoopie Goldberg, popular comedian, will be attending the park. I remember reading it in the Enquirer.

Uhm, your the first park to get Mission Impossible Stunt Spectacular. So therfore, pki is not the first park to get everything. -
What park will get the next 4d coaster?
Gordon Bombay replied to The-Snapper's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I didnt know B&M was working on one, but I do know that Intamin has a working model of one. There is a rumor that S&S is building one in Japan right now slated for a 2006 opening. LINK!!!! -
Snapper, you think the trains are too heavy but pretty much every other wooden coaster uses those PTC trains. And youre right, beast can get pretty boring. I bet it was better before the trim brakes, headrests, and individual lap bars. I rode it today in the 2nd seat from the back and got a lot of airtime untill I was stapled, allowing me to get no more airtime or sensation after the first two hills.

Fearfest was great, my first time ever, the park looked amazing.
