  1. ^the construction of Flumes was outlawed in most modern day countries after the Thunder Splash accident at Disneyland Moscow two years ago.
  2. You gotta admit........that was the BEST 30 seconds of your life.
  3. ^I remember when you had all that speed and you hit that hydroplane ramp it was a pretty rough bump.
  4. Farmer Mcdoodles. Nuff Said.
  5. I was one of The Beast employess who talked to you and your friend after your 5th ride, the one who was a friend of Andrews. Great pics CoastersRZ!
  6. That would be Uncle Henry, sorry I thought he introduced himself, shame on Henry........shame!
  7. Howcome its called The Legend, The Captain, The Alien, And the Mod, why am I not featured? How about The Legend, The Captain, The Alien, The Mod, and that one kickass Beast Ride Op!
  8. On Rides Associates games night they had some lighting on the tower that could be seen perfectly from the highway. Its a shame they dont do that all the time, it would make the tower look very nice.
  9. The cemetery is still there and can not be seen from Top Gun unless you can tourn your neck comepletely behind you, the thing to your left used to be the old campground, the cemetery is located by the North Parking entrance by Kings Mills road and can not be seen from Top Gun. No one ever died in the royal fountain, it was the oktoberfest pond where Lt. Dans porch is now. Hope that clears some things up.
  10. Whether or not the picture from another park is the same doesnt really matter unless it completely misleads you and PKI's website doesnt do that. Theyve never shown a picture of Carowinds Top Gun referring to our Top Gun, they just show the inverted seats in our top gun logo which you can barely tell unless you look extremely close. One thing Ive noticed though is that PKI doesnt promote things on their website very well, like when you click family rides, Italian Job isnt even under there but Zephyr and Viking Fury are. They leave out so many rides under their rides page and dont promote things well on there at all.
  11. ^I love it when people complain about how the park is run and criticize the managers of the park yet they dont know anything about running a park, the employess do a darn fine job.
  12. While I respect what Combat said,The fact remains Paramount Pictures bought exclusive rights to the smurfs which included an attraction clause so maybe if the Movies are well done and there is enough hype to surround it I'd say so ..maybe an attraction themed to the smurfs of some hype.. look at Shrek 4-D at universal. The First Smurf Film hit theaters in 2008. I bet you guys dont have pictures of the smurfs enchanted voyage halloween part of the ride or the Spring/Summer parts. What I meant was that right now the Smurfs are not popular with kids but hopefully a movie will provide a resurgance.
  13. ^Probably not, while Im sure a bunch of people on this site will complain for it and im respect their childhood memories and that im sure it was a good ride, 90% of the kids today dont know about the smurfs or watch them so its not in the parks interest to put in a smurf ride.
  14. ^Got a picture of it!?
  15. I gotta go with TTD because I like the view better from the top and the theme. I like the drag racing cars (eventhough they lack the fin) and the checkered flags and just how nice the ride looks and the view of the lake and park you get on the way up and down.
  16. Actually it could be smooth if built by a better company,. and the post above this one, you dont need to be rude, shes trying to say that we dont need to have the argument as to why PKI doesnt not need and will unlikely not get a hyper or giga coaster anytime soon. The focus is families and theming and hyper coasters arent falling into those plans, we'd definently all like to see some massive steel coasters at PKI, but face it, its not happening.
  17. Goose totally got pwnt by that cockpit malfunction.
  18. ^Which Arrow suspended dissapeared recently? I guess AW's counts since they may be closed permanently (not if CF is doing what ive been hearing rumors of) and the one Arrow suspened in England called The Vampire was retrofitted with vekome invert seats.
  19. Looks way too short, and inversions do not make for a family coaster.
  20. ^Yeah, I love our Top Gun I just wish it looked like it did when it opened with the fake missles and the smoke and the nice looking red track. What happened to its hollywood makeover this year PKI?
  21. I posted that ^ and realized that Im stupid and know the answer.... I forgot PKI already had plans with Arrow to build a suspened coaster called Thunder Run then Paramount bought the park and re-themed it to Top Gun. Brain fart. *slaps head* Edit... and I just remembered that PGA did not get the first invert, because the first B&M batman invert was built in 92. geeze whats wrong with me.
  22. While I love Top Gun and think it needs to be saved and upkept and themed well, I wonder why Paramount Parks decided to give us the Arrow suspened coaster in 1993 that we've grown to love. While our Top Gun is one of my favorite coasters, my ultimate favorite is Top Gun:The Jet Coaster at Paramounts Carowinds, an inverted B&M coaster featuring zero g-rolls and an underground tunnel. While the Arrow suspened coaster is more like actually sitting in a plane and flying, it doesnt do any inversions and is nto as thrilling as a Beemer, I always wondered why PKI never gave us a B&M instead of an Arrow, I figured it was because B&M hadnt started making inverts yet. So today I did a little research, I wanted to find out when the first B&M invert was built. I found out it was in 93 and figured the reason Paramount parks didnt give us a B&M invert was because it had been built at some other park and it was only B&M's first coaster like this, untill I found out that the first B&M inverted coaster was the Top Gun out at Paramount's Great America. So my question to you guys is, does anyone know why in 1993 did we get an Arrow suspened coaster and they got a B&M invert? I love our Top Gun, but give me a Beemer any day.
  23. Good point Hank, the Italian Job may be considered short, but although its short it constantly has something going on, theres never a dull moment and everytime you ride you notice something new and it gives the illusion that the cars are moving very fast. Its a good ride, Id much rather have the IJ coaster than the antique cars.
  24. No offense, but a lot of the things you just said were rumor and very far from the truth as to why certain things arent working.
