Yes, Ackbar I probably would still find it thrilling, the helix is pretty intense, and I love LIM launched coasters, most people woudl still find it thrilling, theres quick turns and sudden drops, plus its smooth so it would still do good, sorry PKI isnt buidling 400 foot tall rocket coasters that have horrible reliability, too bad not everything caters to the Acers, no offense but its a famiy ride for famlies. Im not saying ACE is bad, I'm just saying, the rides for the genral public, not just coaster enthusiasts and I think everyone needs to stop getting so upset that htey put it in.

Great Wolf Lodge Breaks Ground on 8-18
Gordon Bombay replied to CoastersRZ's topic in Coming Attractions
I bet in that one picture Scooby was sabotagin it because of the possible HBV removal. -
That was the idea for Top Gun: Supersonic, although it never said it was going to be Vekoma, and unlike the current tilt coaster it was going to be a flying version. It looked very cool.
-
I figured youd no more about the attraction, however it was not at all going to be a dive machine by B&M like everyone claimed, it was going to make quite a good coaster.
-
It was just in a survey held by paramount, but paramount doesnt have the rights to make the coaster and use the theme, so it may not ever.
-
^Exactly, an IJ re-theme wouldnt be hard, and Ij will not lose as much popularity as you think. You comparing crappy fake artsits to a rollercoaster is pretty stupid when theyre too very different things. IJ wont lose its popularity because, a big variety of people can ride it and its not like anything else in the park, and dont compare ti to FOF because while it may use the same launch system they are two completely different rides. If IJ sucked and the feedback (Im not talking about the judgement of its poularity by line time, like you are, but the feedback received from surveys and intervies taken at the park) wasnt good, then it wouldnt be getting cloned, IJ wouldnt have been made in the first place if it didnt do well in the survey, and I know your gonna say like everyone else on the board "It did live up to be what they made it out to". While some of us coaster enthusiasts (and Im not talking about ACERS, but people on baords like these who are more into parks, thrill rides, and coasters than the average person) may think it sucks, the average people at the park is loving it, and its a winner.

I hear Soundwave did really well on the paramount surveys I think we will see it I dont know when but ... I think we will see it in the near future. Where did you hear this from, do you have any of the results? Soundwave would be garbage, I cant even listen to the radio anymore because the musics so bad these days.

The original theming for the ride was desinged by the same man who designed the sets in the movie.
-
Oh, I forgot, you have that crystal ball that tells you exactly whats gonna happen in the future. The Italian Job has been in the public eye for quite some time, its been made into two successful movies, one in the 60's and the curretn plus a sequel will come out soon. And how do you know IJ cant be re-themed to another movie some day? Do you have knowledge of every paramount movie coming out in the future? FOF still gets long lines every day for being agreat ride, IJ is great because its made for anyone from kids to adults, and thats why it will stay popular.

Admiral, speaking of Filling Bat's shoes and footers, I got some great pictures of some crumbling Bat footers and other Bat remnants that can be seen from the midway, I'll post soon.
-
Yes I have, and the reasons MC hammer is no longer popular is because he wasted all his money, not because he wasnt any good at what he did. IJ is good at what it does, its thrilling for multiple types of people, not just one group and thats why its a success.
-
IJ is a hit with the public and paramoutn has seen that, if it didnt receieve good feedback then it wouldnt be getting cloned.
-
The public seems to disagree, if the ride sucked and wasnt doing well, then Paramoutn wouldnt be duplicating it.
-
Maybe for the Acers IJ is broing because it doesnt have 400 foot hills and goes over 60 mph, but the public is loving it, and it will be a big hit at PKD too.

Id like a more current theme, such as Star Trek with the borg, but I never ever want to see Soundwave!
-
Really? i was told you guys took only one off the track last year, but now you were just leaving them on.

YIKES!!! That ( http://www.rcdb.com/ig141.htm?picture=8 ) is where you load onto the coaster!? Theres nothing on the left side of the train, Id be so nervous. -
Thanks for the video link CoasterKrazy! That prototype model of the suspended inversion coaster looked like it was going pretty fast, its too bad no one that Ive read about is researching something like that today, Id kill for a long suspended coaster with inversions, anyone know how they made that tiny model? maybe a little work on RCT3 will let me come up with something cool... Check this out...

That would be great if you could, are they in the itnernet does anyone know?

What was sitting at CP? Demon?

I think just in the back yard of Arrow Dynamics, Im sure they had a lot of space as at the time they were the leading designer of steel coasters. Kind of like how when S&S introduced the thrust air coaster, they built the prototype Thrust Air 2000 in their back yard. Do you know of any pictures or can you tell me what the video of the prototype is called. Id love to see it. The suspended coaster is great and really simulates the feel of a fighter plane better than an inverted coaster from what ive heard, but man, if Top Gun was longer and had say a corcskrew and some theming........we can only imagine. However, if say they did find some way to do it it would probably get re-themed to something like Sky Captain...pssh.

FOF/z, why do they only run 2 trains now? Were 3 trains purchased when they switched to the lap bar trains? I noticed today while working that only trains 2 and 3 were running. Ive also heard rumors that when FOF opened it had 4 trains. Can you answer any of these questions?
-
Hahahah I hate that about the internet, you cant express emotion, no hard feelings, neither one of us was trying to be harsh. FOF/x when you worked at PKI did you ever get sent to Beast and have to catch trains lol?
-
Chill out, when I said you were wrong, I didnt mean it in a rude way, I meant that you were incorect, I thought you said Beastie and Racer were the only ones that took their trains off. My mistake.

I used to hate FOF when I first rode it with the OTSR's, the lap bars are not only more comfortable but make the ride even more exciting with the free fall effect as FOF/Z said. FOF is a fantastic ride, the only problem is theres no signs or videos or voice recordings instructing people how to use the seatbelts. Also, does anyone remember if there was more room with the OTSR's? Today I worked FOF and many people who were to big or too tall to ride said it was much easier to fit when they had OTSR's.
