Homer Jay as I stated before we are nto saying Top Gun is on Rollercoaster Death Row. We are saying that this is an alternative to removing it when the time comes. No one said its going to be soon. Like i said in my first post.... WAY into the future.

I dont think they ever planne don putting a flying coaster in PKI

^^ They loop the whole soundtrack while your going through the line, even if its not a long line it still annoys you cause your walking so far, but songs like danger zone get you pumped up for the ride, if you like the movie like i do

Actually the rides dont really interfeer with how loud the music is, the people around you trying to stand on their seats and annyoing the others behind them and everyoen argyuing because of the bad view is what takes away from the experience. The only real ride interference in the loud noise SOB makes when it crests over the lift hill but like I said you cant really hear it over the music

Yes the current Top Gun cars are very cool but I wish they had wings on them to make them feel more like a fighter jet and I wish they would use the aircraft carrier itnerior theming!

I dont think theyd re-name SOB but antoher woodie would be cool, but I think from now on most rides that come in are gonna carry a paramount theme. Weird Al is fantastic! but he could play at First Star Center or something. Timber wolf is in the way because it does not get used as much and many people do not like it for its bad seating arrangement.

You are right reclaimer, I really think KI will be taking it out in the near future.

When was that supposed to come to Kings Island and why? It was never advertised and what theme was it going to have?

Too bad the Core was an awful movie and did not do well at the Box Offices

Timberwolf is not good at all to see a show at, the seats are placed terriblly and you can hardly see unless your up close.

I think I can handle it now, but that was a few years ago and I was scare dout of my mind.

I got stuck ont he Beast about a year ago on the first lift hill and they sent up a park represenative to talk with us and tell us everything was ok and that they were just having a few matineance problems. It was strange, I was very upset because I did not want to hav to walk down those thin wooden steps......gives me the creeps.

I miss kIng Cobra the most but I also mis KCKC and the tiques+eagles. They shouldve kept, KCKC, KC, Tiques, and Eagles then torn out Timber wolf and put TRTR and IJST over there (because they fit in with Action Zone) plus Delerium there. Timberwolf isnt needed and is an awful venue.

Thanks, this would save the park a lot of money and still be a great ride. I could really see them doing this. Id really like to see some great theming though around the ride, maybe some explosions or something depending on what you theme it to. They could theme it to Sky Captain but I dont think that movie did to well at the box offices.

There are such things as lay down rollercoasters and flying roller coasters (a lay down rollercoaster in which you are turned upside down to give you an effect like you are flying like superman) I do not believe that there were any plans to put one of these at Kings Island. The first flying coaster was built at Paramounts Great America and was relocated to Paramounts Carowinds. This may have confused your friend or he was just pulling your leg.

The reason you probably couldnt hear the sound effects to well is because the sound effects like braking and engine sounds are played through speakers in the headrest and probably arent noticable from the midway

I would give it high thrill ride for all its records!

Although it may be somewhat slow you get shot at by a helicopter, have explosions go off all around you, feel like your going to fishtail out of control which makes the cars actually leave the tracks, go up at an almost 90 degree angle, crash through a bllboard, and get to experience what its liek to be a stunt driver. Its the SAME speed as the mummys revenge and that is an amazing ride, and IJ will be too.

Ok, a lot of people in other topics are saying that Top Gun will be the next ride to be removed or whatever. While no one knows what the plans are for the ride, its still a great ride and runs well and is a crowd favorite, a lot of people feel KI will tear it down. I came across something interesting on RCDB and thought this would be a muche better idea than tearing down Top Gun. On an Arrow Suspended coaster in England called "Vampire" it was renovated to use Vekoma floorless trains, the same trains that are used on Vekoma suspended family coasters like Runaway Reptar. It was also renovated. I thought this was an awesome way to make a great ride even better. I could really see KI doing this: Eventually the Top Gun theme will be dropped and the trains would be changed with floorless vekoma ones and they would heavily theme the coaster. I could see them theming it to something like war of the worlds or Star Trek. I dont know if it would ever happen though. I just thought it was interesting. Coaster RZ's is right they wil only keep trains if they need the parts for them. I noticed last year the 3rd SOB train was sitting back under an awning up on supports and had certain parts stripped off of it.

I dont think you are correct scooby doo, i do belive paramount has the rights to wotw, some brouhgt up this question at the recent tour and jeff said the only reason universal has that display for war of the worlds set up right now is because they are open year round and KI was closed at the time they wanted to do it and that is why paramount didnt get it.

OK we really need to stop, this has been started elsewhere and arguing about it isnt gonna get us anywhere because its too biased here
