  1. ^ ^ ^ I was thinking the same thing. Hopefully they park the generator trailer far enough away so we can hear the kiddies screaming.
  2. Well theres news most had assumed but it is tremendous to hear it from the horses mouth!!! Good luck to Mr. Shapiro, but I dont know how you can save the Titantic.
  3. The only ride I ever came close to blacking out on was Titan at Six Flags over Texas. The section where the rides goes in to whats called the centerfuge is extremely intense with g's. Goliath at SFMM has a very similar section and if you remember they have had a few incidents with injuries and deaths on Goliath. I honestly dont think its dangerous, just pre existing conditions aggrevated by high g's. Interesting about IJ:ST and Vortex, never felt that on either, but I love the g's through the spiral.
  4. SOB is not rough. Once you have ridden Texas Giant Ragging Wolf Bobs, Villian or had the chance to ride Drachen Fire before it was closed, then we can talk about rough. People that claim SOB is rough dont have much experience with coasters, especially wooden ones. Premier makes great rides, FOF, IJ:ST, Mr. Frezee, Batman & Robin... They do very unique rides that are quite enjoyable. I love the Son and can only hope there is another addition to the family some day.
  5. No SixFlags sucks at keeping the rides working, PKI sucks at maintaining the theme years after its new. FOF for example. Everything else I agree with.
  6. Thank you for that answer. Never saw the show, makes sense now. NU is going to have Seuss Landing quality theming... Highly doubt that becasue one Suess Landing is a briliant recreation of the world of Seuss and Nickelodeon is not even on the same level as Dr.Seuss. Also why would anyone think that PKI would be able to pull something off like Seuss Landing or any themed area like IOA. PKI does not have the resources, the finances, or the nohow to pull something like that off. Im not knocking PKI because they do a great job with what they have but dont have such high hopes. Suess Landing, Toon Lagoon, and the rest of IOA is absolutely the best theming in the world and PKI is nowhere along those lines, nor will NU be in the ballpark either. PKI is known for half assing the theme and in a few years most of it doesnt work anymore, so dream on Peter Pan, we are not going to see the NU version of Suess Landing.
  7. Doesnt Azul mean Blue??? Hopefully someone can answer that for me... Hate to be a negative person and all, but so far as we learn more I am not that crazy about classic HB characters being replaced by Nick characters and that for the most part the rides are being repackaged. Was I wrong to beleive NU was going to consist of more new rides than what has been listed so far? Maybe I just had to high of expectations or I am being to critical before we even have a finished product. Anyone feel the way I do?
  8. I would love to a live show like the new stunt show up north or even a Survivor themed game show. They need more shows than what is currently offered, thats for sure.
  9. Would be very cool for the live game shows to return. Probably not that lucky though. Just dont have the best feeling about this seasson, because it will be a summer of transition.
  10. Its gone, but dont count on it being a sit down service place. Just not hapening, but we can atleast hope for a dramatic improvement in the resturant and menu. Hopefully it will be well themed to fit in the area.
  11. "Just say not to drugs" LMAO Seriously people are disappointed because one, Jeff said it would be something tremendous, obviously with what ride we know are coming nothing is knocking me over also with the lack of work done so far there will doubtfully be any great themeing, not much time left. 2nd Jeff is gone. I know I know Maureen is still here, but Jeff isnt. 3rd Viacom wants to sell PKI and all PP's With these 3 factors how can you honestly have faith that NU will be any better than what the other parks have. So what it will be bigger. The NU expansion will consist of lots of concrete, carnival rides, and cutouts of nick characters. Great
  12. The Big Dipper is a classic. I for one still love the classic Blue Streak also.
  13. Right thats true, but where would you put a new ride?
  14. I would love to see a Screamin Swing, but how many people on these boards were complaining about the new Screamin Swing at CP because they said it would offer a similar ride experience to MaXair. Some people are just crazy. Can you imagine how many would use the same arguement on these boards if that ever does happen.
  15. ^ You and me both. The ole joints are a creekin
  16. No Kalahari is a seperate company than Great Wolf. This is going to be much larger than the Great Wolf located in Sandusky, which is amazing. Also if the resturant inside is family style like the one in Sandusky the food is fabulous and its all you can eat family style serving. This is going to be a major attraction that will draw more people to PKI, especially for the off seasson events like FearFest and WinterFest.
  17. I dont know how many of you have ever ridden the classic Screechin Eagle woddie at LeSourdsville Lake, but it is a true classic coaster and delivers a great ride. I am surprised the coaster has not been sold off like other great woodies of the past or that nobody has offered to buy it. Honestly it would be a great addition to any park. Other ideas for the LeSourdsville Lake. Wonder why nobody has tried to turn this park around. It could be as good as Holiday World if it had the right ownership and opperation procedures. I think it still could be very successful even with PKI so close. Just is a shame to see a nice park SBNO.
  18. I would put a DiskO in the new NU expansion.... Oh Wait.. Seriously, I would build an Intamin hyper coaster back in the woods behind The Racer and Vortex. The only thing visible to park guests would be the lift hill, the rest would be hidden in the woods and terrain behind the other rides. Have the coaster intertwine with some parts of The Beast and have a high speed pass of The Vortex, underneath the double corkscrew portion. Second I would like to see a Topple Tower built on Swan Lake. Kinda themed along the lines of the Timber Tower being built at DollyWood. Also at Coney Mall where the laser tag use to be Id like to see a Giant Jump2 instaled. But as long as we get a big coaster soon and some more flat rides Ill be more than happy.
  19. This is a future conversion I will have with my nephew next seasson and the new NU expansion. "Uncy Scott I have never been to a fair with concrete paths..." How will I ever explain this to him. I just dont think he will understand.
  20. You wana scream in agony and I would like to punch them in their face or atleast take the basketball they have been dribbling all day and shove it done their throat. 2 things that annoy me most at the park, screamers in line and the constant bouncing of basketballs. Hey look at me, I can dribble a ball. Yeah.....
  21. Well thats a credible enough source for me. Lets just throw some rumors out there and see what sticks. Eventually if you say enough crap you will be right about something... Back to NU photos... Honestly for the way this area was hyped and with only a few months left till opening, Im finding it hard to beleive that PKI will either have it ready or that this area is nothing more than some carny rides with new pavement, and cutoutts. Hopefully with the addition of all these great carnival rides we can also get our own carnies to run the rides. They could move their RVs in to the parking lot and live their all summer and then for FearFest this year we would just navigate the trecherous carny camp at night... Can you imagine how frightning that would be?
  22. Legend... My reference to Opryland and OpryMills was pure sarcasim. I despise OpryMills and the fact that they destroyed Chaos to build a crap mall. The industry is not growing or having the success like it once was and parks are being more conservative with the rides they add. But the industry will see the addition of some new big rides this year like Expedition Everest and Sheikra. Just a phase the industry is in and something parks will have to overcome by offering a great experience for value and not by just providing a new big ride again. I think guests are more particular now that they must choose the parks they visit wisely instead of going to them all because of high gas prices and other factors.
  23. Huss has had the land of Giants Concept for awhile... Surprised more parks have not added a couple of their rides, like PKI has. I personaly think Huss makes some of the greatest Flat Rides around. We could only be lucky to get another Huss Giant Ride at PKI
  24. Crap stock prices, more exspenses than revenue and higher prices. Its a no win situation, especially for a quick turnaround. SixFlags has years of work and so far the decision to raise prices and discontinue introducing big rides will be a major detriment to the future of Sixflags.
  25. So you have first hand knowledge of whats going on inside SixFlags? Do tell. Obviously you have forgotten that SixFlags Astro World is no more. Very nice park if I do say so myself. Not to mention everything is being sold for money because they got a good realestate offer. Gaylord Entertainment did the same thing when they swithced Opryland to OpryMills. Great Decision. Yeah so they got rid of some corporate people. Obviously that will make a huge difference on the daily opperations of parks, because they control that. Wrong the park management is what needs to change and there have been no reports of those positions changing. Give me your first hand knowledge before you acuse others of having none.
