  1. Stop right there, before this thread goes off on a tangent. KI will more than likely not take legal action against a news station or any other media source for sensationalized headlines or pops to pull viewers back after the commerical breaks. They may have a polite talk with these outlets about correcting their stories, but nothing else. Please stop posting to watch your count grow and just because you have a question does not mean you should ask it. A little reading on this site and you will learn quite a lot, without ever posting a word.
  2. TylerRider, grow up and come back once you have something informative to say. Not crap. I am not going to stand by and watch as individuals who are here for no other reasson than they are bored and they want their post count to increase and in the meantime destroy the credibility of this site. Either get with the game or go away. Simple as that. ~RR has had enough and isn't going to take it anymore...
  3. Holiday World To Unveil it Second Most Expensive Ride Ever.... Courier Press $5.5 Million, interesting...
  4. I know Im late to the party with my congratulations, but still want to add my thanks for what you bring to the community and not only in what you post but also behind the scenes. Thanks for being who you are, it is appreciated.
  5. I like Value and there are some great values to be had in the leissure industry. Should be interesting to see what happens in the next 3-5 years atleast that is my horrizon.
  6. Seems liked Cedar Point is getting the desired results they are looking for with their not so sublte Tweets and Posts.
  7. Interesting article inside the life of a Cedar Point Ride Mechanic Sandusky Register
  8. Funny, I have been around this site for a few years. I have seen many things happen to this site, the good the bad and the ugly. Always seems that during the seasson, with a new pretty ride lots of new faces appear. Some become great members, others not so much, but the off seasson will come and many of those members will disappear never to be seen or heard from again. The core members are here year round and those are typically the opinions that most listen to and respect. I remember when Jackson was trying to figure that out, maybe I was a little hard on him in the begining but he stuck around and does quite well for himself. Unfortunately there are too many that aren't even trying and I really don't care what you say you are not worth the time it takes to read your post. I know who I respect and who I listen too around here. I look for what Terpy is not saying, another great Avatar trip report, RZ to break down the technical aspects of something, Jackson to give his youthful perspective, and the list goes on. I just wonder if it is time for the higher ups to empower more with mod status to patrol the forums because of their busy schedules? There are many long time members who would make excelent mods. I think the site has grown too big for too few to patrol. I also wait for features like the KIC Newsletter and so on, that were discussed yet havent happend, havent seen too many KIC texts lately either. Im just saying, these are things that make KIC unique in a thrill ride web culture that is overrun with tpr and coasterbuzz forums, KIC is different, always has been and always will be. Atleast that is what I hope. Some of the new folks don't understand the knowledge and insight that the membership of KIC posses, I dare anyone to find a more knowledgeable base around. Sometimes it is best to shut up and just listen. No more stupid random thread because you just reached 100 posts (great I dont care, nor does anyone else), or You get a cookie comments, another poll to determine what is the best amusement park poll around, burn SoB to the ground, and the list goes on... Don't post because you are bored, post because you have something insightful and knowledgeable to share, post because you care about this site and the direction it is going, not because you will be one post closer to Terpy. Realize no mater how hard you try you will not reach his quantity and if you do by some chance you are nowhere near his league or quality. Remember quality over quantity, Terpy is the rarity because he masters both. I enjoy this site too much and have put too much time and effort in as a member to earn my place and my respect within its ranks. I will not standby and watch as morons degrade and tarnish what has become a haven for entusiasts of KI and the industry in general. Do your part to make this site great and remember respect is not something that is given to you, it must be earned on this site. I challenge each and every member to try and continualy earn respect from others on this site, if you are not willing to put in the effort, than leave. Simple as that.
  9. Or this something that is a foot is leaving a trax...
  10. There are 2 thoughts. 12E could just be a refrenced to Disaster Transport and is 12 ENUFF? This would be coaster 13 for Carowinds. Also 12E, could be 1+2 = 3 as in #3 of NASCAR Fame Dale Earnhardt, the Intimidator who is a legend of NASCAR and Charlotte will see the NASCAR hall of fame open next year so Carowinds might have a tie in here with White Lightning, the Intimidator and NASCAR.
  11. Seems that a large shipping container has dropped on the front of the park and it refrences "Lightning Really Does Strike Twice" and "IZ12ENUFF" http://www.thrillnetwork.com/news/3038/car...more-hints.html Very very interesting indeed. Hmmm White Lignting also refers to Moonshine and NASCAR started by Moonshine runners. 12E, 3E, The Big E. Carolinas, the opening of the NASCAR hall of fame. All so very interesting.
  12. A midway I am currently walking down, tagged with Disney. My own little leisure mutual fund.
  13. Really a bad idea. Why clear the park? Whats the benefit? The marketing cost it takes to get a guest through the gate and you are going to risk loosing that person not coming back through because you are affraid of scaring some little kids whos parents do not heed the warning. I do not understand the logic behind this or why the park would choose to clear the park. I predict this happens one weekend and thats it.
  14. Emphasis added. I will let the report speak for itself. http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2009/08/dr...s_kalahari.html
  15. There is a reasson parks have lockers. So you do not put your valuables in ride bins where they are expossed to all of the various individuals at the park and if it was a perfect world we would not need to lock our cars or our homes. I believe Gunnery Sergeant Hartman regarding thivery and footlockers.
  16. Would be very interesting with the corkscrews coming out of the MCBR. I would voth OTSR like those on Carolina Cobra. Secure, safe and no headbanging.
  17. The only other restrainsts that I find as minimalst and thrilling as those on B&M hypers are what S&S has used on their Screaming Swings and rides like Powder Keg. Very minimalst, yet secure.
  18. Like Avatar and others have said. Disney does not want you to come for just one day. Disney is more economical if you visit multiple days, stay at a resort, use Disney transportation and take advantage of the dinning plan. As someone wise in these matters has taught me. If you are committed to Disney take advantage of the discounts and the package deals they offer and the trip becomes more affordable, the worst mistake you can make is buying a Disney one day ticket.
  19. ^ Avatar, while I am with you on not being quick to judge. From the reports of the second article it sounds like the mother was watching both children and the youngest who died was only 3. Im not sure how to translate watching, but me as a Father with a 2 year old I am going to be by her side whenever she is around or in water, because of the danger water can pose to children and also because of news reports about incidents at some Disney Water Parks. Then again maybe I am over protective.
  20. From the article, besides Ohio clearing the ride this is the only other thing that sticks out. Sounds like pretty normal wooden coaster maientence to me, so I dont really see anything out of the oridinary. Anyone with a little more insight in to these repairs?
