Yeah I agree about the winning design, looks too much like a shirt that you would buy as a tourist at a tshirt store. You could replace KIC with MB, OBX, NYC. Not saying its bad design, it isn't, just not my taste. Then again obviously my taste is not shared with others who voted in the contest, because my design only got 2 votes. Then again maybe this isn't a pop art site... But hey the new tshirts look better than what was available previously.

Great job everyone.

New Orleans preparing to sue Six Flags....
RailRider replied to raptorcp21's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
New Orleans should have taken the $14 million 2 years ago, because now they are likely to get nothing. -
Still wouldn't mind seeing a nice giant wheel placed where the laser tag building was and a new flat on the old flight comander pad.

I have submitted 2 designs. When will these be going up for voting? Very cool idea and a great way to involve the community. -
Yes you sure can, as long as you are above 44" and under 76" I believe Little Bills is the only coaster with the must ride with child specification.

Ride Magnum - Support The Red Cross

Very cool promotion and a great ride. The personalized Medallions sounds like a very unique gift. I must admit that Cedar Fair has done some great charity work this year with the auctions for Prowler, Carolina Cobra, Diamondback and now Magnum. -
All signs point to Nick U leaving and HB Land / Cartoon Network coming in. I think its a great move.

Jesse, Loved the trip report. As always, great insight and pictures. Really loved your views of the day. Like others mentioned I was waiting for your report more than anyone elses and you did not disappoint. Thanks for sharing. Although I was a bit concernced with this part, I honestly hope parents aren't eating themselves... Couldn't resist.

I think that is still why Kumba is one of the more forcefull traditional sitdown style coasters B&M ever built. The tilt or recline in the seat lowers the riders center of gravity and allows the rider to tolerate g-forces better and also lessens the effect of g-forces because of the lower center of gravity. Then again the reclined seat is much more comfortable for the rider and provides a much smoother experience than the flat seats.

1. Kings Island - Not because of the rides, but because I have the greatest memories here. First date with my wife at FearFest, Zoe's first amusement park visit at 2 weeks old, and many many more. 2. Dollywood - Great atmosphere, Great rides, and the best entertainment around. No other park on the same level. 3. Opryland - So many childhood memories from this park. Great shows, food, and unique rides. First looping coaster ridden Wabash Cannonball and my first kiss. Chaos was totaly a unique and awesome ride. So sad its gone. 4. Islands of Adventure / Universal Studios FL - No other park is as immersive as IOA. I litteraly shed a tear every time I step foot in that park because it is so amazing. I also have a great love of Dr. Seuss, so Suess Landing is amazing. 5. Cedar Point - Great collection of coasters and still has parts that have a very classic feel. There is no better midway and I am a huge fan of staying at the breakers with views of the lake.

Enjoyed the trip report and the pictures, especially those of the cyborg monkeys.

It's Fast, It's Full of Venom... and It's Here!

The photos are amazing, the landscaping looks great and I love the use of brick pavers for the entry plaza's for Beast, Rivertown Junction and Diamondback. I think Rivertown will have never looked better than this year. -
I have prior commitments and am looking for a visit in May. Enjoy. 1. beastfan26 2. rcfreak339 3. standbyme 4. RailRider

Massive Airtime from the looks of the video. The 30 second figure looks to be pretty accurate. -

If you watch the video when they are talking to Don he is infront of the sign early this morning and it says on the left side "Do Not Disturb." -

Video from Channel 12 actually has the KI POV footage included and Don confirmed the 2nd drop may be the best part of the ride with an insane amount of airtime. Local 12 This just looks awesome. -
What Parks Will You Visit This Year?
RailRider replied to RailRider's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Currently planning the trip as soley Disney with the inclusion of Sea World, possibly removing Disney Studios and substituting Sea World. Still planning everything out. Not going to hit Universal or IOA until Potter Land is done, not to mention the little one will have very little interest at either right now, but in 1 or 2 years will be more interested in Universal. Remember I am not a credit whore and I have a lot of doubt the RRRC will be very reliable this year. I think the firehouse and first hill are perfect examples of the issues this ride will have ahead of it.
