That's what I was trying to say. CF takes out ALL of our theming, and they get to keep a ton. We have no left over TR:TR theming, no BLSC splash, no waterfalls in Rivertown anymore, nothing. What theming has CF removed from KI that wasn't liscened and what theming have they installed at any of the acquired former Paramount parks? Paramount is responsible for most of theming that is in the parks and they are responsible for most of it either being taken out or not working in an optimal fashion. CF is not in the theme park business... My humble opinion but KI is in a much better state now then it was under Paramount.

I would say KD is worth the trip by itself, plus you are close to Busch Gardens Williamsburg so stay a little longer and do both. Nice TR by the way and Grizzly is still one of my favorites. Great airtime filled woodie. Love it.

Former Hard Rock Park has a new name
RailRider replied to nhimes90's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Really? I dont know how a theme park and a beach town have similarities or a theme park which had lands themed to Egypt, Greece, Rome etc compares to a park themed to music? Then again Im not paid the big bucks for providing theme park advice and catchy phrases... -
Chaos is a great flat, awesome to watch and really puts on a show with the light package at night. I would love to see more of those around.

Take the Plunge At Amusement Parks
RailRider replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I like the Lagoon of Doom. Nice ring to it, but also sounds like a putt-putt course. -
Any wonder why the Huss Giant Ride concept never took off? The Crypt and Delierium are perfect examples.

Wow this topic again? Can we just take this topic along with trims, footers vs footings, and Vortex is being removed as is Top Gun being removed, lock them in a crate and burry the crate and never speak of them again? I know I am asking for way too much. Who is up for a good footings vs footers debate?

Yes great advice is using the grandparents, but also travel with your children. My wife and I love taking quick weekend trips and we were always gone before the little one was born. We made a promise to continue to take these trips once she was born and we have done a fairly good job of it. She has been many places with us and she is not even 2 years old yet. Here is a quick rundown of her trips with us. Kings Island at 2weeks, Indianapolis for a weekend, Williamsburg, Virginia Beach, Myrtle Beach twice, Niagara Falls, Chicago, and numerous trips to zoos and aquariums. We love traveling now more than ever. Here are the links to trip reports from our various travels. PTR Niagara Falls Myrtle Beach PTR

One of the funniest posts I have read in awhile, yet I can sympathize with you. Riding has become more dificult with the little one yet we still have our sights set on KI, SDC and CP this year, with a few other parks worked in along the way.

^ I would agree Boomerang Bay could use some new slides, atleast a new multi slide tower. I would love to see a tower with a ProSlide Tantrum, FreeFall and a few Turbo Tunnels. ProSlide Or a tower complex from WhiteWater that featured an Aqua Loop. WhiteWater

Don't you think five years is a loooong time. I would say thrre, maybe four at the very most. I'm not saying it would be a huge, expensive, state-of-the-art coaster, but I think KI WILL get a coaster before five years is up. I would say it would be five years, if, and only if, KI gets a flat ride or two in two or three years, or four to possibly five years if there's more than one flat. Then, I think it will be five or six years before a new coaster is dropped at KI. No I dont think 5 years is a long time to go without a new coaster especially after the instalation of DB and Firehawk along with the looming debt issues Cedar Fair has as a whole. Like I mentioned earlier I would expect some new shows, flat rides, and dinning improvements at the park over the next 5 years.
-
I would hope no breaks are necessary or designed as part of the ride. That is a frightening thought. Brakes on the other hand I can live with and they are the lesser of two evils, because without brakes you will have breaks on most rides...
-
I would say Cedar Fair will not be installing any coasters at KI for atleast the next 5 years. Having installed Firehawk and then the $22 mil spent on DB I don't see anything major in the next 5 years coaster wise. I would look for continued improvements throughout the park, new shows and maybe a few flats thats about it. I believe Nemo is right.

Terminator Salvation coaster trains
RailRider replied to raptorcp21's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Yeah still scratching my head at the Wooden Terminator ride, but I do like the looks of the trains although I would have incorporated some more silver in for a little color. Maybe left the diamondplate a polished silver instead of the flat black. -
Former Hard Rock Park has a new name
RailRider replied to nhimes90's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Continuing their awesome naming, HRP errrr Freestyle Music Park has renamed Led Zepplin to......... Drumroll Please....... The Time Machine... And the crowd scratches their head??? The Sun News Read the article because there is some great info on their pricing strategy, I don't think they learned from the failure of HRP -
I have been waiting for the race maps to show up on the website, still nothing. As mentioned the kids fun run goes through Nick U, I would imagine sice the 5k is the Diamondback 5k it probably intertwines with the Diamondback track and probably goes back the construction road, and I would imagine that The Beast 10k follows The Beast construction roads at some point. Just a few thoughts.

While this ride does look fun, I am still scratching my head. Holiday World has always been very conservative and when they add a new major attraction they do something unique but also appealing to the eye. While PP is unique it is not appealing to the eye, nor is it cost concious. I just wonder at what else they could have done with the money they spent on PP and for a small park to spend that much during these times. I hope they have a strong year for their sake.
-
I am now a huge fan of that company and their logo...
-
Great pictures and glad to hear the ride delivers. Watching the video on Holiday Worlds website I cannot believe the speed it has going down, but the splash is very lackluster. I wonder if that will be changed as the weather gets warmer, I would imagine it is as simple as raising the water level. Looks fun overall. Thanks for sharing.

Hmmm those were my same thoughts as well, sell it on eBay or the black market.... Seriously though you can have him just cross through the train and wait at the exit for you. I would also recomend making him aware of the lost parents/ baby care facility in NU. Just incase something were to happen and he got lost waiting for you guys. Also make sure he understands to ask any KI associate for help if needed.

The only bobsled coaster I thought was fun was Screamin' Delta Demon. Avalanche, Avalanche Run, Disaster Transport, and La Vibora were never very exciting or amusing for me.

Much funnier when I hold my tongue and say apples to apples than it is saying oragnes to oranges... -
Kinzel's CEO Salary "Biggest In Region"
RailRider replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Well compare that to Mark Shapiro's salary of a little over $1.3 Million in 2007 and with everything else he received his total compensation was almost $5 Million. This year Shapiro looks to get an additional $3 Million bonus for either restructuring or bankruptcy of Six Flags. Interesting when comparing apples to apples. -
I dont feel bad. Actually happy that I was somewhat able to put something together. When we did PKIC Survivor I was not a bit skilled in any photo editing or photoshop programs, now I can actually do something that looks somewhat decent.
