The Boston Globe Interesting article, but honestly I dont get it. Why is there a need to go to Disney. Great you qualified, doesn't mean you must go, especially if financialy dificult. Also what ever happend to winning your local league and maybe a regional tournament, being happy with that and taking the kids out for pizza afterward. I know from all the years I played of youth sports I enjoyed it greatly and never was promised a trip to Disney for winning. Is it necessary absolutely not...

Great Wolf may lose Ohio resort

The last thing GE wants to do is forclose. -
B&C has been in the MB aread for a long long time. They also have many tourist driven properties and have no doubt been effected by the economy and lack of discretionary spending folks have. I know when we went to MB, more folks were just walking around their properties, but few seemed to be making purchases.

I understand opperating a hotel on or next to your park, makes perfect sense. But do they really want hotels spread out all over the country? I mean there numerous Great Wolf's that are nowhere near a CF park, not to mention that they would shut one of the 2 down in Sandusky. Doesn't make sense to me. I think cherry picking properties to opperating makes much more sense. Like buying the Mason prop on the cheap. -

I think Cedar Fair is far more knowledgeable about opperating theme parks than they are lodging. Yes I know they have numerous choices at CP, but I still see their main skill set as leading to the efficient running of parks and not moving in to the lodging market so much. Maybe a cherry picked property here and there, but I just see CF staying away from a large lodging network. -

The 2nd hill looks amazing, definate ejector hill. The speed at the bottom of the ravine is going to be awesome. The 3rd seems like it could be the biggest surprise of the entire ride. I think the curve leading in and up the 3rd hill will pull some nice lateral g's and then will offer an abrupt pop of air at the top. Could be the best hill on the coaster because of the numerous different forces that it will provide and how quickly they will change. -

I take it you have never been on a B&M? It will be much smoother than FoF. I also dont see it suffering from a case of the B&M shakes, non of their hypers I have been on had that issue. By my estimate I am somewhere around 20 or so beemers ridden and the only ones that I experienced roughness on were their first few standups like Vortex and Iron Wolf. -
I believe you are talking about Wild Wild West, which is known as Bandit now. Debuted at Movie Park Germany in 1999 and was built by RCCA just like SoB. FoF1996, I still love SoB and I think it rides much smoother now with the track modifications and new trains.

Heres a thought though. Cedar Fair cut the woodie for GA out of the budget this year. Could that be in part because they are planning on buying the Mason resort at a greatly discounted price? Yes I know that the mortgage is more than the total capital expenditures for Cedar Fair this year, but that all would not be due up front and they could possible get the property for less. I know what others have said, but just being a little devils advocate, after all it is an interesting conversation. -

I know when we built our house last year, that our basement walls were poured in early January, besides using the blankets they also used antifreeze admix to prevent these issues. I think that is something that is very possible with the concrete poured for Diamondback and this will greatly increase the set tempretaure tolerance -

Tigey, I agree about the second hill and just wondering if you are still questioning the height of the second hill. Looks pretty massive to me, especially next to the Giant Box:The Ride
