What version of Android do you have? Some apps are not available for eclair, but are for froyo or gingerbread. I have the Motoralla Citrus. If you go to Settings -> About phone, what does it say for "Android Version"? It could be that you have an older version of Android (such as 1.5) which isn't supported anymore.

If you want wait times, get Ridehopper...

I don't think KI has announced this at all, as I never heard of it before this topic was posted. I do agree that having food prices and descriptions would be nice. It would also be nice if the "feedback" section actually let you send feedback to the park and/or its developers. Haven't used it at KI yet, but spent some time playing with it last night. Looks like a lot of fun! If it's showing "page not found" or something similar when you scan the code, that means the app isn't available for your phone.

Glad you finally got this posted. Can't wait for WindSeeker to open!

Windseeker & Coney Mall Construction Continues
Oldiesmann replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
It is not open to the public yet. If it were, the park would have announced it. The only "people" on it would be the water dummies. -
Every 3D movie I've been to has a box at the exit allowing you to recycle your glasses. Furthermore, it makes absolutely no sense to keep your glasses, as you still have to pay extra for 3D movies regardless of whether or not you have your own glasses. I doubt that KI will let you keep the more expensive 3D glasses. If the upcharge were for the glasses, they'd let you in for free if you already had glasses.

I haven't tried yet, but judging by the permissions it requires, I'd say it can: More details at http://market.android.com/details?id=com.wddonline.myParkKingsIsland or by scanning the QR code above with your phone.

I'm probably one of the few here who feels this way, but I actually enjoyed Spongebob. It was a fun film and a great way to get out of the heat for a few minutes on those hot summer days.

RideHopper is mostly focused on tracking and reporting wait times for rides. It also lets you view and report show times. It does not have information about food options, a park map or park news. The MyPark app has more features.

I pointed that out a few posts ago Has the park announced this anywhere? I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere prior to this post.

Here's a QR code you can scan with your phone to go directly to the app in the market: Apparently there's also an iPhone version available, so iPhone/iTouch/iPad users should search their market for it (I'm too lazy to fire up iTunes to find the URL to it right now )

Didn't know this existed. Thanks for the info! "wddonline" is the name of the company that developed the application. See http://www.wddonline.com for more info. Apparently this is the same company that designed and developed the website for many of the CF parks, including KI.

Yes, there will be a combo and regular ticket. Combo is for the DA Park and movie. Regular tickets will be for DA and movie. The park's website says otherwise: http://www.visitkingsisland.com/public/news/newsletter/index.cfm?item=174

How Many Season Passes Do You Have?
Oldiesmann replied to FOFreak's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Only a KI gold pass for me. 3rd straight season. Got a flyer in the mail in late 2008 advertising the $75 gold pass deal, and I couldn't resist. I had a blast that season and renewed for 2010, and of course had to do so again for this season. -

Congrats on your promotion Jesse! -
For those curious, the Soundhound app I have on my phone identified this music as "Omaha Beach" from the Saving Private Ryan soundtrack.

Are you serious? Like, visible during the daytime, or only at night? Lights that replicate sparks of showers, or little bullets of light flying past, or little strobes in the helicopter's gun barrels? I can't tell you how excited I am by the small details like this... Especially when last year, Canada's Wonderland's was reprogrammed to not even come to a complete stop at that brake run (why do it if there's nothing - not even a spinning helicopter rotor - to look at?) and Kings Dominion's had absolutely no flames! Either way, this will only increase my longstanding claim that Backlot Stunt Coaster is one of the top night rides of the 102 roller coasters I've been on... GYK, who unapologetically names Backlot Stunt Coaster as his second favorite roller coaster experience at Kings Island... Really! I don't know if they're visible during the day, but they were visible at night. They just look like little red lights flashing on and off simulating gun shots, and on the helicopter, there are 6 to 8 of them which light up in a circular pattern, simulating automatic gunfire. Also, another thing I noticed yesterday... The Eurobobbles are gone this season. In their place is a new "Pre-Historic Party Pavilion", which can be rented out for birthdays, group outings and other special events.

A few things I noticed yesterday: All of the old red restraints on Delirium have been replaced with the newer black and red ones There are now LED light effects in the shooting scene on Backlot Stunt Coaster simulating gunshots Many of the swings on Zephyr have new straps on them (nice bright yellow ones) - last year some of the straps were pretty frayed

The "WindSeeker1" cam is now either the Diamondback camera or the I-Street camera. Nice to see that they've put the WindSeeker2 cam back on their webcams page as well.
-
Good to see that the WindSeeker2 cam is back up, even though it's not on their website anymore. Thanks!

Windseeker & Coney Mall Construction Continues

Something must have bumped the camera... It was pointing directly at the pine tree to the left of The Vortex station, and is now offline again -
Windseeker & Coney Mall Construction Continues

The remaining sections of the fence are being installed. Won't be long now -
A Piper Cub, how interesting. Random you say? Inconspicuous by most maybe, but I shall say far from random..........Oh what's that Terpy term? Oh yes; saying just enough so I don't say too much. (Very nice pictures by the way) I figured there was a reason for that plane to be flying overhead, but I said random because I didn't expect to see it

Which one, there's like four of them on i-Street? Also, Flight of the Valkyries? On MY Backlot Stunt Coaster?! This sounds way too good to be true! The one directly to the left of Starbucks.
