  1. I wouldn't count on it. The drain's been plugged on that thing since a couple months into the season last year (I posted on June 24th of last year that it had been clogged the past two times I'd been to the park).
  2. Interesting. Do you live in that area? That would explain why he was getting off in Lawerenceburg (since that road is right off Route 56, which ends at US 50 in Aurora). Must have been stopping at home for the weekend on his way to wherever that track is going.
  3. If I weren't already taking 4 days off of work that week to go to Nashville, I'd definitely do this. Sounds like fun!
  4. Tower Gardens is nothing more than the park's largest designated smoking area. Unless you're a smoker, there's really no reason to go there. Back when Paramount owned the park, it was called Paramount Story and was quite a nice place to visit - waterfalls, nice park-like setting and a timeline of Paramount films. CF turned it into Tower Gardens and turned off the waterfalls, then turned it into a giant designated smoking area last year. Back on topic, Channel 9 just reported a bit more info on this. According to the police report, the victim was a 7-year-old boy and he was sexually assaulted in a bathroom. The Mason Police are going to hold a press conference about it at 2pm today.
  5. There was/is an old drinking fountain hidden behind a caricatures stand right outside of Greaters. It was the only one not at a restroom and is the old pedal-type. http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19824&view=findpost&p=386888
  6. Got a response to my feedback
  7. I've only visited the park on the weekends this year (four separate Saturdays - April 30th, May 7th, May 28th and June 4th), but the lines seem to be about the same as last year - anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour depending on the time of day. ERT seems to vary depending on the day. On the 28th, they were assigning rows and the SRL was open. On the 4th, it was much slower during ERT (13 rides for me including first train of the day and a string of 7 consecutive rides without having to walk back around - I either stayed in the same seat or moved to another empty one).
  8. I've got the latest version (1.1.1) and webcams are broken for me. In addition, there's a bug with the option to update Twitter - it doesn't recognize that you've already authorized Twitter. If you go to Twitter and authorize again, then go back to the app, it crashes. However, if you just go back to the app (by hitting the back button in Android; not sure what the procedure is for iPhone), it works fine. I've sent them an email through their website (http://mypark.wddonline.com) so hopefully these issues will be resolved soon.
  9. The videos are still there. Click the link in the first post, then click "Watch the Videos".
  10. The park has stated that the ride will last 3 minutes, so it will indeed last longer than that test cycle did.
  11. Found this on Youtube... A guide to Coney in its final season before KI opened.
  12. Since most of us here already have KI passes, this is mostly for everyone to pass on to anyone who doesn't... Fox19 is giving away a pair of tickets to KI every day from now through August 21st. To enter, go to http://www.fox19.com/story/14809718/enter-to-win-kings-island-tickets and fill out the form.
  13. I just went ahead and paid the full $7 for parking. I think I could have gotten money back by showing my ticket/receipt to Guest Services or at one of the places where you buy pool/ride bands, but I'd left my receipt in the car and didn't feel like hiking all the way back out there to get it (I ended up parking out by River Downs, so it was quite a hike from there to the park). Also, out of curiosity, why is Pipeline Plunge closed for the season? I'm not big on body slides, but find it odd that it would already be closed for the entire season when the park just opened this past weekend.
  14. Unfortunately you're out of luck then.
  15. Try this URL in your phone's browser. This will take you straight to the login page: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?app=core&module=global&section=login (I put it in code tags because it won't show the full URL otherwise)
  16. While waiting in line at Dodgems at Coney Island on Sunday, I heard a guest say that Coney Island used to have a lot more rides "until Kings Island bought them out". Yes, KI is home to several rides that were once at Coney, but they never bought out Coney.
  17. Sure... A ride spinning at 35mph can easily throw an object weighing over 100 pounds out of the seat...
  18. It likely won't be too much longer until WindSeeker opens, but that's dependent on a lot of things - testing progress, the weather, how long it takes the state to certify it (no idea how long the certification process takes), etc. Yes, DA did open yesterday. There are plenty of pictures of it here: http://www.KICentral.com/photos/thumbnails.php?album=339
  19. Tempting offer. That might warrant a return trip to Beech Bend on my way home from Nashville instead of that possible trip to Lake Winnie...
  20. The "mark all items as read" link still shows up just fine for me in Chrome.
  21. Even with a rooted phone, it is ultimately up to the application developer. I have run into apps before which are "copy-protected" and thereby do not allow me to move them to the SD card. Do you not see a "Move to SD Card" option for that app? The application's permissions indicate that you should be able to move it to the SD Card. StumbleUpon specifically says that the "Modify/Delete SD Card Contents" permission is what allows you to move their app to the card. I would also recommend contacting the application developers about it at http://www.wddonline.com/public/services/mobile_application_development/MyPark.cfm. Maybe they can help you out.
  22. I am going to the Weird Al concert this Sunday at Riverbend, and am planning to hit Coney before then. What do I do about parking in this situation? I've never been to a concert at Riverbend before and have only been to Coney once in the past couple of years (for Balloon Glow in 2009).
  23. If you want to use the embed code from Youtube, go to the full reply box, click "Click to configure post options" and choose "HTML On - Auto Linebreak Mode" from the dropdown list. Alternately you can just paste the URL and the forum will automatically embed it for you.
