  1. Im curious if the woman who paid for these stamps was reunited with her 200 dollars. It's amazing how much time and energy people put forward just to be deceptive. The sad fact, is these petty criminals are more often than not, fairly creative in how they take people on a ride for their money with elaborate stories, and materials that corroborate the lies. I find myself watching the news all the time thinking why that type of creativity couldn't be harnessed into something more beneficial, instead of being harnessed in a jail cell, wasting away. Maybe I'm just a little timid, but I don't think I could ever have the kahones to materialize and follow through with a plan like that, regardless of scale... (from these guys outside Six Flags, to Bernie Madoff)
  2. Wait a minute. You mean to tell me you added an emphasis or two somewhere in your post? Im glad you mentioned it because it was somewhat hard to locate where you had added it. I do like the last sentence of your quote... "InBev's loss will surely be Blackstone's gain." I certainly dont profess to know a great deal about Blackstone, however, from what I have read about the organization and its investments, Blackstone seems to be a knowledgeable and trustworthy buyer for these facilities that are ultimately interested in maintaining a high quality product for its consumers to utilize.
  3. I certainly was not that brave when I was that young, I doubt I am today for that matter!
  4. The idea is to keep you in the merchandise location as long as possible to increase the odds of you making a purchase. The flow which you don't particularly care for, is the proper flow. Similar to how a nice Las Vegas casino is set up to some degree
  5. the funny thing is... I can see it now, if a member of the general public unhooked that chain and someone posted witnessing it here, the poor soul who unhooked the chain would be chastised from now until Tuesday.
  6. I have always been a big fan of Screamscape, I find it to be the most credible site on the internet and it is by far my favorite website to get amusement related news and informational tidbits from without having to scavenger the internet fan sites. (I often think people who post news stories from around the internet get the information from screamscape and just cite the original website as opposed to saying 'i saw it on screamscape', but thats another topic) In addition, I have always enjoyed the featured articles that pop up from time to time from the webmaster, and the latest one is no exception. When to take the little ones to a Halloween event seems to be a growing question as the haunt circuits seem to become increasingly popular. Its nothing groundbreaking as far as technique for having the younger members of the family test the halloween waters, but more just his experience. In my personal opinion, articles like these would be a great asset to have not only on KICentral.com, but on all fan sties. I'd love to see articles from 'contributing authors' in the 'features' section as opposed to the regular reminder to upgrade your season pass. Posting it in the forums just leads to quibble among users and unfortunately more often than not you find yourself debating, for example, when to take a child to Halloween Haunt, with someone who equates age wise, as a child. I suppose thats the blessing of internet anonymity though. In any event, I thought I'd offer up my two cents as there isn't much else to do at The James around 5:30 in the morning... And of course, here is the link to the screamscape story: http://www.screamscape.com/features/html/w...s_to_haunts.htm
  7. Did I miss something being wrong with VKI.com ? I knew what was being referenced but maybe thats just me. All these 'Sighs' make me feel like I'm listening to Scarlett O'Hara post on KICentral.com... You better slow down with all those sighs, you might pass out.
  8. ...yet I have not noticed a single line jumper during any of my visits this summer and haven't had a bad 'guest experience' either. I suppose if you go with the intention of spotting rule violators then you are bound to spot a few though, but to me that seems to be a waste of time.
  9. bengals parking anyone? 25 dollars in some instances can be a 'good' deal
  10. Hey Beast1979, why is it that you cannot close this topic?
  11. Similar to your post ? ... and mine for that matter?
  12. Woofer, I couldn't agree with you more. It is almost as though one day everyone decided to hop on this bandwagon of not trusting screamscape.
  13. It became a mess when everyone and their mom started making a huge stink about it.
  14. What have you seen this season about people leaving for food? I suspect its probably trip reports on internet message boards about all these 'amusement park addicts' that love the company so much they will buy a season pass and then do everything in their power to not shell out a single additional dollar the rest of the season. Now, if you were conducting some type of exit survey, that might be another story, but for some reason I doubt you are. Furthermore The Interpreter, from your experience how easy is it to load up three children, a stroller, all of there personal items, fork over your relatively close parking space to leave the park, wait in a drive thru, return back through the parking tolls, try to find a parking space, unload the three kids again (with said belongings) and hoof it back to the front gate? Sounds worth saving a few dollars to me... (or not) Alluna, thank you so much for posting your thoughts, but please don't ever apologize for posting something that a visitor to this site may stumble across, read and never offer their thanks for. What a warm welcoming vibe to another new kic member... to coin a phrase, *sigh*
  15. well as the topic is about what will be missed... I'm going to agree with the author and say the level of detail within the whole area will be an unfortunate loss. That and of course the live Nick characters my nephew loves to run up and hug.
  16. So when will 'Rumor Smasher' start up his personal crusade for Gay and Lesbian Day 2010?
  17. Sounds like perfect weather to swim with my pooch at The Beach Dog Day!
  18. this is just a side bar, but I really think the over-use of the word save in the context of except is rather humorous. As if one was trying to technically write.
  19. I've always wondered when Crown was finally going to have the chops to blow into the top 3 and apparently this was the year, and very deserving at that. I have often wondered when the good ole' boys (Cavies, Cadets and BD) would finally be challenged by some of the younger groups building momentum. 2010 promises to be another great year... Tomkatt... I dont blame your nephew for not wanting to march at OSU, they are exceptionally old school and traditional. But its what they do and it works. College band never held a candle to Corps or HS band for that matter to me. Ohio is fortunate to have both Glassmen (cough cough), and Bluecoats. In addition, most corps have audition camps somewhere in the Ohio/Indiana area - he should consider it. Drum Corps is an experience second to none! Although, if he ever utters the words "cascades or pioneer"... Kidnap him until auditions are over
  20. Monroe... Don't you dare tell that poor kid to get a BD shirt when he clearly needs to get one from Carolina Crown (my alma mater)! Based on your description of his band, it sounds like he attends Grove City, and if that is the case, he is a part of a fantastic program that due to an unsupportive community, lost all its funding for extracurriculars this year. What an absolute shame :-\ Football and Band at GCHS were quite the spectacle on Friday nights for sure. I was on the staff the year they went to London for the New Year's day parade... what an incredible treat! In any event - no Blue Devils... only Crown
  21. I know many, many families will echo your sentiment. I do.
  22. ahhh... the voice of reason speaks ... how refreshing
  23. while walking out 2 saturdays ago... none other than... Bad Day - Daniel Powter I was curious how many people were thinking "no kidding"
