  1. I learned in Psychology 101 today that our memories can sometimes be the most unreliable account of what really was...maybe that class is worth something afterall
  2. Too bad it could go under, and i know im dredging up an old thread, but I had a wonderful idea! They should have put in a top spin of some kind, and themed it around THIS (for those of you who don't want to follow the link...it's tommy lee in his rotating cage of drums...(very very EXTREME language warning, sorry about that but it was such a great idea i had to share haha, and this was the only video I could find that really got the point across.))
  3. Im still thinkin it's just because they want to...and it'll be pretty much awesome...
  4. I think some of the best memories don't have anything to do with the rides or the park itself, the real memories come from the companionship and friendship fostered in the park. Watching someone close to you enjoying themselves in your presence is the best feeling. Especially if they are "coaster virgins," to see their eyes light up and to know all is well, and to leave the pressure of the outside world for a day.
  5. Yeah...I think the simplest answer would be, "because they want to"...Im not complaining
  6. I always liked the sound of SOB going up the lift...As long as I wasn't on it . I cant say that there is one specific sound I listen for, I love the whole atmosphere...
  7. I'm still trying to figure out where a splashdown fits into the theme...Not that I'm opposed to it...But when I think of Diamondbacks (Rattlesnakes)...I think of the desert and things of that nature. But at the same time, it'll still be really cool, and I can't wait for it.
  8. I think red paint was on sale...don't forget Maverick...even though it's a Cedar Point cousin, it's still similar and around the same time period ish minus...
  9. I don't remember my exact age, but I know it was a small church trip, I wasn't actually old enough to be involved in it, but my dad was a chaperone and let me tag along...I had ridden the Raven at Holiday World, the year it opened, and I hated it. Scared the crap out of me, still have the picture, you can't see me cuz my heads ducked down between my knees and my eyes are closed. Nothing had changed when I went to KI, we rode AE and The Beastie, didn't like either of them. That whole day was spent with my dad and his friend riding rides and trying to trick me onto them, and it always ended up with me sitting in the kiddie corrals. It was several years before I could go back, I rode The Racers and AE all day, and realized they were sort of enjoyable. The next summer I went back again, and my dad got me on The Beast...after getting off The Beast, something clicked, and I wound up dragging my dad onto Vortex. Never had a problem since, I don't even think twice about getting on anything anymore. Long story short, I was young, and I didn't much care for it.
  10. It's interesting to see people come and go...there are some that don't come around anymore that I miss reading from...the atmosphere has definitely changed since i joined oh so long ago...back when a certain company still put the P in PKI, can I still say that? Is it taboo? However I think it's moved for the better and being on here has definitely given me a sense of belonging, now that Im in college and can fend for myself, I'll start trying to go to more events and such.
  11. I filled my truck up this morning at 3.89 a gallon, it cost me $89.30 for about 23 gallons. I was holding out as long as i could, but if i didn't do it this morning, i wouldn't have made it to school. Plus if I waited much longer it probably would've gone up, knowing how things work.
  12. Firehawk could take a 5 minute wait and make it seem like 3 days just from the heat and glaring sun...When I stood in line for about 45 minutes for it this summer, I lived for the 2 or 3 minutes I got to spend standing by one of those mist fans...And they have the canopies, but they don't help a whole lot.
  13. I never buy the pictures, cuz i usually can't afford them. But if I had, I would have some dandies. 1) My dads sunglasses fell down on his face on The Beast one time, he kept beating himself in the face trying to push them back up. 2)When we rode tower of terror at MGM studios, they wouldn'ttake my friends bag, so he latched the seatbelt through the strap. All the way down it hit hime in the face, and on the way back up it would crush, parts, if you *guys* know what I mean. The funniest part was the sound he would make everytime it changed direction.
  14. I was right...get a job with the company that rented it...I feel smart...I should be the PR director...
  15. Yeah...get a job with whoever rented the park that day...
  16. ^^^ some people might think you're talking about a family member...
  17. I use exactly 1/8'th of a tank a day in my 05 Dodge Ram...About 90 dollars a week...takes two transactions since my check card is only allowed to go up to 75....the fact that I can't find a job is making it hard for this poor college kid.
  18. Those are some awful expensive halloween decorations
  19. ok...3...and you should probably get that cough checked out...hope it's not contagious haha
  20. In the same four years, Screamscape has been right maybe twice...I'll give them D-back i guess...I don't even remember what the last one was...
  21. I dress myself in clothes I've bought from weird places, or events I've been to...90% of my shirts have a story...makes getting dressed more interesting cuz I remember where they come from...I have my KI tee's, the shirt I'm wearing now I won at a drumline clinic...Nascar shirts I've bought at the track...Marching Band Shirts, that I get cuz I have to (I hate most of them)...vacation destination shirts... It's expensive though, as a normal t shirt is really like five bucks...But as soon as you add a logo to it, and the owner of that logo behind it wanting as much profit as they can get...suddenly you have a 25 dollar tshirt...which is rediculous, I avoid those haha
  22. Looks pretty fun, however the only thing I can critique at the moment and I haven't seen it in person either, but the modern elevator lifts and stuff seem like they would clash with the traditional look of the park...But thats a minor thing, I just had to pick on something haha
  23. I was the resident expert in my high school...Id have random people chasing me down in the hall way asking what I knew about Such and Such coaster at some park...and then there were the people that thought theyd get one on me and pull out some obscure park, and Id still know...That's when I got made fun of...
  24. O Contraire...In the three or four years I've been on this site, it's been true about 98% of the time...and those that know and talk, typically get fired, so it doesn't happen very often...
  25. Yeah I really missed that path the other day...when we first learned it would be closed, I thought it would just be a minor inconvenience, but it means walking all the way through nick u or coney mall to get back to Int. Street and AZ...I spent more time walking than anything else that day.
