  1. Nightmere could it be a coaster that doesn't make it all the way around the track? The ride hitting a maitance Bucket?
  2. SFWOA is one of the worst preforming six flags parks because operations exceed attenance. Those whale shows are great though PKI also got rid of the resort and conference center because it was not preforming well.
  3. Just was painted and the arrow trains are good for a long time if maintained (which they are).
  4. Welcome to Cincinnati if you do not like the weather..........wait a day or two! Also Home to I-75 Aka Orange Barrel zone
  5. I will adress both here as they are similar the Arrow POP as some refer to it. Yeah some of the restiants feel loose if your inbetween clicks. Don't worry you are safe. Seatbelts are not needed on Vortex. Arrow loopers have a pretty good safety record and the OTSR make its so everybody of shape and size can ride pretty well. Its been in use for almost 30 years now and has not failed yet. A seatbelt would be useless and if the OTSR failed a seatbelt wouldn't save you, centrifical force would. [rant] Already in the park there are 2 rides that have loops that do not have OTSR's BUT! if you need more proof goto Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom and ride there Shuttle Loop Greesed Lightnin. That ride uses an even simpler lapbar design and it holds you in just fine (even though you may feel weird going back though the loop. [/rant] A seatbelt would not help and would make dispatch SLOW!!!!!! We all like Vortex as the people eater that it is! Final thoughts for the loose issue. Your good you may have been inbetween clicks and your not going anywhere if its down atleast 2 clicks your safe.
  6. Arrow has been part of other ride company's before. Huss-Arrow for a short time. They may get back on there feet and break back off.
  7. Top gun has been confirmed its staying for awhile longer. You may see the themeing fixed back up again soon. As for AE alot was worked on. 2002-2003 was a big improvement. For TRTR the triangle thingy is problematic sometimes it works other times it craps out. Bubba Gumps was a HUGE improvement over what was there before IMO. I never really got the whole Octoberfest thing anyways. Plus it looks a whole lot nicer. Flight of Fear was constantly being worked on this year. The rivertown theme is kinda dead. No one gets it but TRTR was a step in the right direction. Coney needs some work BAD! better lighting and some paint would help alot there. It needs a rehab. With the water park its definatly a step in the right direction. I went to water works for a whole week this year early in the season and there was no body there at all. The main park was busy but the water park was deserted. I got pretty good at wipeout beach though The park will never be PKI Cira 1972 again. Its just not going to happen, but they are improving and listening and thats the key.
  8. Its a slow process its alot better than it was. I would watch Top Gun.
  9. Last I heard Arrow stopped making hypers. It may just be a standup issue but I haven't heard the greatest things about Paramount's B&M standups. Then again we all know about Arrow's standups
  10. OT but funny story anyways. Back when I 1st got my PC my mom was very skeptical of E-commerce in general. I begged and pleaded and thus she finally gave in and let me buy a video game online. She was shocked that 2 days later it showed up just as it was ment to. Shoot 5 years later to this summer. I am building my new pc. Place online is cheeper than any store. 1200 dollars spent and 1 day later it all is at my door. Once again she is shocked. Its taken 5 years for my mom to fully trust the ecommerce. I even have her addticted to netflix. my dad on the other hand thats a different story
  11. B&M's Don't age well. Just like Arrow steel coasters. Anyone ridden Iron Wolf or Chang this past season? I would honestly like to see somthing different if we do get a B&M. Ohio has no B&M sitdown Loopers.
  12. But then it would take an extra hour to open every day.
  13. Go get your own savings account and link it to a paypal account.
  14. He also has a wonderful fan page Located Here.
  15. I don't see a problem with a special members only area. Videos are bandwith killers. Go buy some hosting and make a popular webpage and tell me that you don't have overages. Advertising doesn't pay anymore either. Heck I am order #1 on the shirt I have already placed my order. Heck I helped design the thing. Trust me it will be worth it to have a nice shirt and a crapload of extra content. Also in a Highly unscientific AIM poll 5/5 people asked said its a good deal. I pay 20 a year for the coasterbuzz club and I get an ad free webpage and thats about all. I would say This is a better deal.
  16. B&M speed coaster B&M inverted Coaster B&M sitdown looper B&M standup B&M Dive Machine B&M Flyer B&M Wood Coaster Trains
  17. Well see I as a Great Moderator Pat have a demo on hand of HDTV life Vs Real life You can see it Here. Your sure to see a difference!
  18. You can figure out for yourself the rides in the park that use Windows
  19. I agree. Without Coney Island there would be no Kings Island. Its a fun place to spend a few hours.
  20. Thing with Racer is wood is cheep to replace. I am pretty sure theres no peice of wood left on there from 1972. As long as Arrow is making the parts and the ride stays togeather it will be there there.
  21. Please try to capitalize. Oh yeah and if you wanna know how the ride works Huss Rides and check out the Gaint Frisbee page. It may help somewhat.
  22. BoObKiNoS your looking at this from a rideop's POV. Its a B*tch to have to open early for the gold pass holders. With gold pass you get Close parking area Discounts out the wazoo Exclusive ride Times Early Water park entry Bring a Friend Free days (as flawed as they are they work) Double ride tuesdays Walk on Wed. Special gold pass only nights. Breakfest with the characters Good concert seats. (couldnt beat the seats for weird al or 3rd eye blind) And maybe Free softdrinks Free beach towls at BB Free sunscreen Gold pass is manily for PKI's Local crowd. It gives you a reason to come back again and again. Even before gold pass they gave out a coupon book with crap in it. Its a good value overall. Goldpass gives you more bang for your buck. Plus making it Limited time also helps bring in more sales. Goldpass really isn't for your vacationiers, its for people like me who live close and really had nothing better to do. I used goldpass alot in the spring because I only stayed at the park until 1:00 or so. if there was ERT I had a head start. Heck my mom who went to the park 2 times with me this year liked it. We were close to the gate because of goldpass parking (she refuses to get a hanicap sticker even though she can bairly walk alot of the times) and because when we sat down to get our meal we got a gold pass discount. Having parking on the pass was a goldpass thing till 2003. That was a GREAT idea. You cannot beat for 80 bucks a 2004 parking pass and season pass. I spent 127 bucks for my 2003 pass because I needed parking and I didnt buy early. 80 VS 127 is a deal to me. now a white pass Gets you into the park all season long And parking is on your pass. Hmm 5 bucks doesn't sound too bad after you size it up.
  23. You can get parts easilly for Vortex. Arrow's parts department still ran even while they were in chapter 11. Arrow does offer reprofiling. If there is a problem with the ride a new part of track can be made for it. Vortex never has a line cause it eats people. Dispatch is quick and really easy. OTSR's are moron proof get in pull down and your in there. People like the ride as well. It could navigate the batwing a bit better but its a very well done ride. They have somewhere in the ballpark of 82 coasters running(more than any one company I believe) some of them have been up since the 70's. Arrows are built to last IMO.
