  1. You can get parts easilly for Vortex. Arrow's parts department still ran even while they were in chapter 11. Arrow does offer reprofiling. If there is a problem with the ride a new part of track can be made for it. Vortex never has a line cause it eats people. Dispatch is quick and really easy. OTSR's are moron proof get in pull down and your in there. People like the ride as well. It could navigate the batwing a bit better but its a very well done ride. They have somewhere in the ballpark of 82 coasters running(more than any one company I believe) some of them have been up since the 70's. Arrows are built to last IMO.
  2. BoObKiNoS play nice. I will close this if the topic gets out of hand. Remember Son of Beast was build without the aid of blue prints
  3. That comment was not needed. Also Jeff Seibert said on the last day that attendance was up.
  4. It looked like crap on the shirt trust me.
  5. Heres an artical http://www.enquirer.com/editions/2003/11/0..._masonvets.html and a photo Thanks to dragonlord for the info and the photo.
  6. I will have you know I had a hand in this. Aaron was going to use a funky green and yellow combo!
  7. It DID have the trick track
  8. C'mon I am sure they loved sending someone up the lift every 5 cycles or so cause of a computer fault. . Also could be the lawsuits from the people with hearing problems from KC's brakes.
  9. I have lived in Cincinnati all my life and have never been to the Art Museum. Been to union terminal many times but never the art Museum.
  10. No there isn't and I doubt anyone would object here.
  11. Like others I went to Americania instead of Kings Island for many Many years. Problem wasn't that my parents were cheep it was that we didn't have the cash to go there(americania was a better value when you had 6 kids with you at one time). I 1st went to PKI in 1992. I was tall enough to ride The Racers and beast. I passed on The Beast. I road alot of the stuff in HB. I remember begging my aunt to take me up in the tower but alas she hates heights. I went I believe in 1994 for the star trek earth tour(correct me what year if I am wrong). I loved Star Trek when I was little and I thought it was cool. Still couldn't muster up the courage for Vortex or The Beast. I was about 4 years before I went again. We went in 1998. At that time I was with my brother and there was no getting out of any of the rides. My 1st looper was to be Vortex but alas It was broke. We waited 2 hours for FOF and I was scared out of my mind. I came off with a stiff neck. That Night I took my 1st rides on Top Gun,King Cobra and The Beast. I don't exactly remember too much about my Beast ride but the Top Gun and King Cobra were memorable because KC brought my brother great pain going into the loop and top gun was the 1st coaster I EVER road alone. That was the only time we went that year. In 1999 I got my 1st season pass. I used it about 4 times. Memorable moments were Seeing bolts fall off face/off while in line and Seeing SOB start rising into the sky. 2000 I went 1 time. SOB's media day. It wasn't done yet though. The park was only open a bit as well. I never used my freebies. 2001. I went to the park 1 time. My uncles works picnic day. It rained and poured so bad it was not funny. BUT A few weeks later I became employed by the park. I needed a job and PKI was what I wanted to do. Hatesfully trained and put to work on gay pride night in 2001 I had no clue what I was doing. Check bars and thumbs up I had very little off time but managed to ride alot. 2002 I returned to the park as a ride op. Didn't go as planned. I ended up quitting. One day in Aug I was REALLY REALLY bored and I couldnt take it anymore I found my comp Tickets and I went up with no money and a PB&J packed lunch. I also attended the last ride of the year on Beast via help from my GF(she had some freebies) 2003: Ok I know this is earliest memories but Over 30 visits not bad. Sometimes riding SOB 20 times in a day. Also my 1st timberwolf concert
  12. PKI has a crapload of space why would they need a parking lot coaster? You are all skipping an era. Remember adventure Village. AZ is just fine the way it is. KC is dead. Those CPC folks Had to kill it!
  13. I disagree. PTC trains are good in some cases and in others they suck. Ever road Raging Wolf Bob's at SFWOA? Thats a case of bad PTC's. Plus PTC's would be bad for the speed and the loop.
  14. Hate to break it to you but KC is dead. Not comming back. Also Pre-AZ was adventure village. AV had nothing for theme. Which was leftover from Wild animal safari. I am so sure the park would tear down a multi million dollar rollercoaster and put up damaged goods. We already have a KC topic up so I am going to close this.
  15. That could be true or that feeling could be gas.
  16. Well Considering it commited sucide eariler this year it would be a bad purchase.
  17. Winterfest would be great to have again. Park would need to have lots of stuff going on though since the rides would be down.
  18. Find a job. Fix my car. Play videogames and DANCE!
  19. For me going back there was no biggie but everyone was in awe. You can see most of the area by riding beastie.
  20. Your from Kentucky and you expected this to be odd.
  21. oh crap I forgot to mail aaron my pics too oops!
  22. Hey Nice seeing everyone even though I was not offically part of the PKI-C day. I spent time with dane today so yay!
  23. Day started at 9am as my mother dropped me off at the front gate (getting 1 last use out of 2003's parking pass) I walked around International snapping photos. I went over to GR for some reason and there was Jeff Siebert in there. I said my hello. I took a group photo of the GR people and asked jeff if he had a moment after the tour was over for some non Park related matters. We said our goodbyes and I went over to the Ace brick looking for someone i knew. Finally my buddy Tom showed up and since hes an ACE'r and your allowed to bring 1 guest I went on The Beast walkback. Beast woke up right on time and was running about as good as can be for a morning run. After that I wanted to ride the flyers. 3 cycles smooth loading and unloading. I met a few new people in line whos names escape me at the writting of this TR. Amazing what a week can do. Crew was fast and fun again. after 3 cycles on the flyers tom wants to go ride Delirium. We get over there and I nix that Idea. I am not about to wait for a ride that I may or may not get to ride. Then its over to SOB. SOB was flying today and there was no stacking. We were on in 15 mins. Then Top Gun. Tom rides I do not. I will not wait over 10 mins for this ride unless its 1 train due to Maitance error and a truck. I Bsed with the Overworked and underloved Skyflyer crew. I decided to give it one last ride. I was joined by a worker who had never flew. We both paid and road. He liked it very much. Tom rejoined me and we said our goodbyes. Next was Adventure Express. AE is quickly turning from a coaster I never road to one I always ride. It was around a 15 min wait. Infact thats the longest I have ever waited for this ride. After that Tom did Racer Forward. I don't ride Racer forward for the sheer fact IT HURTS. Backwards was way to long of a line so I waited. Next was...Well I think AE was the last ride I road today. The lines were horrid by then. We sat and BSED inbetween coney and Rivertown for a while. Then walked all the way back around to bubba gumps shrimp Co. They had to fish today. It was chicken ribs or shrimp. I got a PoBoy sandwich and a Salad. We ate watched football(VERY NICE BTW) and then proceeded to Festhaus. We metup with everyone and when the video started everyone else in there was suprised at what was going on. The Video is computer animated by BadNitrus. Its very good (some of the people moved a bit funky though). It had AMAZING detail and really helped you get a feel for the water park. Jeff then made an annoucement to everyone over the PA system. Thanking the GP for comming out today and telling everyone participating in part 2 to meet outside. We were all outside. Jeff made an Inaudable speech and we were on our way. We took a backstage tour of the backstage area. I ofcourse had seen it many times before but everyone else was snapping photos and taking video like there was no tomarrow. Jeff stopped and told about some of the winter rehab that already in progress such as SOB's 3rd train. AE's 3rd train and White water canyon. We then made our way over to the tracks where jeff put himself at risk for our safety and made sure everyone got across okay. We were in THE WATERPARK. I had been in WW when it was a Ghost town but this was errie. Alot of prep work has already been done. Jeff explained that they are doing things to make it so you cannot see across the waterpark to make it feel bigger. He told us what was going where. From the 1989 area to the 1998 area. He showed us with more detail overhere where the new cabanias are going. Also where the new bar is going. Also that the under the powerlines are being utilised for a sand volleyball court or 2. Jeff made several stops over in the newer area. I was busy taking photos so I didnt get all of it(luckly dane offerd to make me a tape of what he taped). We then walked back to the track where jeff took questions and made another speech. Then back in Nick Central he made another one and answered more general park questions. Then with about 10 ppl left he answered MORE. Thats right when alot of people left he still answered questions. Then with 4 he answered EVEN MORE. Then it was just me and him. I had an outside the park/semi educational question for him. He answerd that for me. I thanked him and I made my way though the sea of children into 1st aid for some water at the drinking foutain and some asprin (I stared into the sun while taking pics). Mostly for the water. I made my way though another sea of people and left the park at 4:50 Bidding PKI adeu till april 2004. I snapped 2 far off photos and then drove off. Much thanks goes to Jeff Siebert and the rest of PKI for an awsome season. Also Jeff again for being so cool over the whole fanpage thing(You think I am done YOU AINT SEEN NOTHING YET!). Also for the great walkback. Many thanks today goes to. Chef,Dane, other tour participants whos names I forgot cause I suck with names for the random conversations. Other thank you's My mom for the purchase of the 2003 season pass. The pass for not falling apart over my 30+ visits to the park this year. The SOB/Top gun,Skyflyer and Beast crews Specifically for putting up with me being there so much. SOB for over 150 rides this season! All the people that make these rides go around. My family for putting up with my PKI stories again (they thought they were over when I quit working there) Security for keeping the park safe. Everyone I met this summer and have forgotten about. Rob Nungester for going with me so many times this year. I now offically call my 2003 coaster season OVER!
