  1. You should be able to log into KIC using the mobile app. go to the top of the page on the home page for KIC. Next to the words :Kings Island Central Forum" you should see a couple ">>" on a button hit that and that should give you the choices you need to log in and give you some other choices. Edit Terpy beat me to it and on a IPhone no doubt. Good Evening buddy.
  2. If you go to the very bottom of the IP.Board app for this site (basically scroll to the bottom) You should see the words "Full Version Search" click on that and that should give you the full web version. We I do that I usually can not go back to the easier Mobile IP.Board for this site unless i power my phone off and on. We go through IP.Board and are limited to there contrasts so what we have is what we have until the next update.
  3. That is what I was thinking too windshawne. They are a family owned and run business so priorities play a factor here too. TheSonofBeast it sounds like you tried to voice your opinion and informed them that you inquired for information prior to your arrival to help the planning process on your end. That is about all you can do other than write them a letter addressed to the GM and owners. Another thing to do is do what you did here and I appreciate that you are not tearing them down but rather just expressing your genuine disappointment and trying to give a heads up to fellow members here. My family loves water-parks a lot and we used to have a annual pass to The Beach and enjoyed every visit there, in the summer and Christmas festivities. I regret though we have not renewed or annual passes for several years now. I do commend The Beach on finding a niche market and keeping their grounds beautiful and shaded after Kings Island open their water-park. If I had to pick between those two it is a split for me. KI water-park gets to crowded and hot with old attractions but offers rides in the dry park for evening fun. The Beach is very family friendly with late night pool shows and so forth so in all honestly both are equal in my eyes. now if you throw in Holiday World well lets just say Holiday World water-park is our choice coming and going and will be our real only choice if we are seeking a water park day. I just wish Kings Island would add to their water-park but do understand why they have not to this point.
  4. And here north of Chicago, I got no rain. Worked in the yard all day then to a block party. It goes to show how different weather can be just miles away. Luff somehow I must of missed that you moved north. I hope you and the family are adjusting well there.
  5. I agree standbyne about Robbie being the choice to take back in time. Since you like to hear it the way it is I will tell you why; as you can see Robbie stays calm during worried times and is very analytical in sizing up the situation. That plays well for me as if any dinosaurs would approach us by the time Robbie figured out what the best plan would be for the situation I would be 200 yards down the trial.
  6. I see you are still pushing for our members and guests to see Dinosaurs Alive 3-D Movie after they walk through the park. Don't blame me when you get hate mail. They absolutely should see the 3-D Movie but BEFORE they go through Dinosaurs Alive Trial. Just saying, maybe we should create a poll for this.
  7. Wow I enjoyed the surprise ending question! Ryan your video was so good it was like I was there, Great job thanks for posting.
  8. First of all thanks Delirium_Guy for sticking it out and riding Cheetah Run for us so you could give us a great review of the coaster and thanks for taking the time to write a review on a Friday evening Second I must admit I got a bit worried when I seen you post elsewhere that said "Cheetah Run was Fun!", see you left key words like awesome, Supper Fun and more than I anticipated. I like your reviews as it leaves out little speculation if I will like an attraction or not and from your description of Cheetah Run I know it is a coaster I look forward to riding. I know need to figure a way to get down there for a weekend before I go down with family in the Fall. Well all I can say at this point is the world s a better place now with Cheetah Run in it.
  9. windshawne - If you promise to wear a safari hat with me as we go through Dinosaurs Alive I would be happy to pay your way next time I see you at the park. standbyme - thanks for the kind words and to answer your question, Yes it is real sand and since the area is a bit new (not settled) and very wet right now I did sink about 3-4 inches when i attempted to walk into that area. I did raise a concern about using real sand versus a synthetic type material, due to kids getting a bit more muddy than the parents would find acceptable. (hows that for telling it like it is?) Also just let me add knowing you and a bit about your family I have no doubt you guys will like Dinosaurs Alive.
  10. As one who has not been in your specific situations I do understand you guys frustration. My daughter rode White Water Canyon (her favorite then) for a couple years during the Paramount years and then when Cedar Fair took over they changed the height requirement. It took her a year to grow those couple inches, when we inquired about the change they said it was due to safety which lead to the next question of "so was it unsafe for her to ride before...?). I share my story as to try show you that I do in some way understand your frustration. So with that said please understand that the employees did do their job and that is tough for them to do knowing they will disappoint a guest but safety is at times discretionary and up to the ride operators to make. Just like Cedar Fair felt more comfortable for their guests safety by raising the height requirements on some rides it is also up to the ride operators to decide on a fly if they can help a guest get that last click in. I mean many factors weigh in here and may be due to a time issue in needing to dispatch quickly What worries me here is that if there is a out-cry for more consistency on rides it will not go in favor of the border line riders. I mean if they were to make it a policy one way or another with no discretion for consistency reasons. I am all but certain it will be a rule to instruct ride operators to not assist in any way of the last click in fear of liability. I guess what I am saying is yes it is frustrating but be more happy for the ride operators who assisted you versus being more upset with the ones who did their job but did not go that extra click. Good Luck Guys
  11. RingMaster - Don Helbig did address your question about single time entry or all-day entry to Dinosaurs Alive in an interview I witnessed back on opening day April 30, which can be found here http://www.KICentral...ndpost&p=428111 In that interview Don said Dinosaurs Alive will be a single entry per $5.00 and not $5.00 for return all day on day of purchase. Although he does state that you can go around as many times as you wish and stay in the area as long as you wish or until they close the trial for the day. So once you exit you would need to pay another $5.00 to reenter. I would suspect it would be hard to monitor who actually bought a ticket and returned for another entry or someone who would try to take advantage and pass/sell their ticket to someone else so they could gain dishonest entry to Dinosaurs Alive Park. As we left the Dinosaurs Alive gift shop yesterday we where asked in participate in a survey and towards the end of the questions they asked about haunt. Basically the question was in line of; If Kings Island was to add Dinosaurs Alive to Fall festivities would we like to see it themed to a family Fall area or for a night Haunt attraction. From talking with some of the Kings Island planners, they seem a little apprehensive and worried about control of Dinosaurs Alive being used for a Haunt attraction. Time will tell.
  12. Dinosaurs Alive - Opening Day Report – Photos – Thoughts – Suggestions Kings Island May 26, 2011 Report with Photos I meet up with the staff members Dane, CoastersRZ and BoddaH1994 of KICentral to visit, share some laughs and memories. In addition we had a mutual interest in experiencing a new beginning/addition of Kings Island new animatronic dinosaur park Dinosaurs Alive. We spent the early part of the day briefly discussing what each of us would like to do in pictures or video, going through the Dinosaurs Alive gift shop and taking various pictures of the surrounding area as you enter Dinosaurs Alive area. They had park associates out front of the area to answer questions and to sell tickets to Dinosaurs Alive as well as a Dinosaur Alive 3D-Movie in Action Theater. We also noticed an automated ticket kiosk across from the entrance to Dinosaurs Alive and we made sure our tickets were in order so we would be ready as they opened the new park at 2PM. Since it was getting close to 2PM we decided to get in line that was gathering for the ceremonial ribbon cutting and the opening of Dinosaur Alive. It was at this point That Don Helbig Kings Island public relations manager took to a podium to share some interesting stories surrounding the new park and then introduced some representatives who had a hand in the development of the animatronic dinosaur park. Then with a animatronic dinosaur watching over the festivities under an ominous looking sky the word was giving to cut the ceremonial ribbon and announce "Dinosaurs Alive is Now Open" So with that a new era of Kings Island history opens and guest enter to get a look as one of the first to see the park. As we enter the dinosaur park we were given a two sided information sheet that had a map on one side and fun facts on the other side We proceeded to go under Racer Coaster and enter into a densely wooded area and quickly came to a variety of animatronic dinosaurs which we noticed a reader and family of KICentral enjoying the descriptions of each Dinosaur. So then after we experience a couple dinosaurs we came to an area that offered us an opportunity to take a couple photographs which would be assimilated to a Dinosaur Alive background. So we had to have them photograph our party as well. For the fun of it you can see our picture and organize your party to a fun picture made for yourself. I notice that at this booth guest can get a rarely seen before view of the backside of Racer and other Kings Island ride attractions. From that picture you can tell we were about to get poured on by one of a few rain storms we encountered on this day. I really enjoyed as we came up on a dinosaur scene the scene comes to life with dinosaur calls/screams and movement. Here is a photo collage of the same dinosaur as it moves and I took pictures. As we walked we noticed the pathway through the area was wide and easy to walk in grade. It also leads us from one scene of an era of the dinosaur and the interesting information about that time and species To another era of the dinosaurs. About ¾ away around the park we came across an area for children to dig while parents get a bit of a break on one of the many benches in the area. I also liked the setting and wondered about the many beautiful photos of children playing with such a picturesque setting that will be shared through the years. Along the trial Kings Island staffed many individuals eager to help with any question we had and even had some props to share. This staffer was showing dinosaur poop which I know many boys and including my daughter will find the humor in that. After a few more scenes we ended back up at the Dinosaurs Alive gift shop to view our photo we took earlier on the trial. I also got to spend some time to shop for my daughter back home still stuck in school. I like the wide choices of merchandise from shirts, hats and play sets To nice showcase collective merchandise. We decided now to go see the Dinosaurs Alive 3-D Movie in Action Theater and I apologize for not having any photos to add here as we hurried in the rain to get there. The 3-D Movie was informative and the quality was stunning and clear, even as good as any other 3-D movie I have seen in theaters. The 3-D Glasses used where comfortable and appeared to be of high quality. As we walked back past Dinosaurs Alive entrance we were approached By Don Helbig and Ronny Salerno from Kings Island to ask us about our opinion of their new park addition. My Thoughts: Being a Kings Island enthusiast I am always curios and interested in park happenings and how they will affect guest experiences. When Dinosaurs Alive was announced I admit I was very excited not so much because I love dinosaurs but because I saw the new park being something I could see many other guest getting excited about doing individually or as a family. I was excited that Dinosaurs Alive would open up that area of the park in a whole new way and it offered a very promising way for my home park to raise addition revenue during a time they seem to be reinvigorating Kings Island decor. Now that I have been through Dinosaurs Alive animatronic Dinosaur Park 5 times I can safely say it has exceeded my expectations and desires as a park guest that I could have hoped for. The quality is great; the arrangement was about right with lots of room for expansion. I also point out that with each and every trip I made through the park I noticed new things I missed before and even learned with each trip through. We went through under sunny skies, when it rained and in the evening, with each and every one of those trips through it offered a unique experience so I will not hesitate to go through Dinosaurs Alive in any condition or time of day. The 3-D Movie was good but not one I would do without doing the walk through the park. I do recommend the movie for first time visitors to Dinosaur Alive as I believe it will enhance their experience and understanding of dinosaurs better. The up-charge for the 3-D Movie is worth the $2.00 up-charge when done with the walk through park only. As mentioned in the report section the quality of the 3-D effects and crispness is top notch. Dinosaur Alive is new and obviously just opened and since much of the construction occurred during a very rainy year so far the area is a bit soggy. The natural vegetation has not had a chance to fill as of yet, so the park will only become more beautiful as it matures. I enjoyed the feeling of being far removed from the rest of the Kings Island and felt I could easily relax as I tried to imagine life in a much earlier time. I wondered before this visit how many more trips I would take through Dinosaurs Alive and now afterwards I will not hesitate in another walk through when the opportunity arises when with others or anytime I get the urge to do so. I feel most who visit Dinosaur Alive will enjoy it and feel the value of time and money to be worthy. I know some guest may have reservation on the up–charge of $5.00 but out of curiosity they will go ahead and enter the park anyway. I feel most if not all those guests will be glad they did go ahead and experience Dinosaur Alive for themselves. I do believe some who do not care about dinosaurs or enjoy getting away in a theme exhibit park probably will not enjoy what Dinosaur Alive has to offer. Suggestions: Let me premises this a bit first, obviously dinosaurs have been extinct for a few years, so no one should try to go into Dinosaurs Alive being over critical of the area or they may miss the enjoyment and beauty of the area. I encourage everyone to take your time going through, maybe walk through then circle back around and read the information signs, sit on a bench and soak in the atmosphere. Very Important Tip here. I highly suggest that those who buy the combo package of doing both Dinosaur Alive Park and 3-D Movie start by seeing the 3-D Movie first. I suggest this from experience and after seeing the 3-D show after my walk through I thought to myself I wished I seen this earlier. So then when we did go back through after the show I understood better about the theme environment and different characteristics of the different dinosaurs. Let finish by saying great job Kings Island for taking the risk in bringing us your guest new and exciting things to do for a wide diverse audience that call your park their home park. I wish you the best of success with this new venture. I look forward from reading and discussing with many KICentral members about their thoughts and experience about Dinosaurs Alive. Thank you for reading and hopeful response; take care until our next adventure Avatar/Jesse
  13. I m glad you got that trip to Sea World in. i look forward to your Trip Report.
  14. I knew I was going to enjoy Manta at Sea World for its thrill of the ride but more because of the theme. I love theme and I prefer it over the super thrills of some coasters but after riding Manta I was blown away as how they successfully combined the two. Manta is the coaster I crave to ride. So now with Cheetah Run I have high expectations for it and will wildly enjoy it if it measures up by half to Manta. I love theme and already I have seen so much going into Cheetah Run that I declare that Cheetah Run is my must do coaster for this year. It looks like a coaster that I can convince my daughter to ride. I hope the trend of these type coasters continue and that others parks will incorporate some more them into their coasters, it really makes the difference to me. Delirium_Guy thanks for all the great updates and I am looking forward to your review of Cheetah Run. I love the fact you get to be there on day one, enjoy the ride!. I also want to tell you that I enjoy your reviews of various attractions as it seems you are very detailed about all aspects of the attraction and do not just focus on the thrill of the attraction. .
  15. Dinosaurs Alive website went live earlier today, here is the link for those interested in this attraction or the park in general; http://www.visitkingsisland.com/dinosaursalive/
  16. Hello and welcome to KICentral. The topic you started with your very first post is already being discussed in two other threads and I will refer you to this one http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=23856 that has a lot more discussion on the DA fire. In the future please try not to start a new thread about a topic that is already being discussed, Topic Closed
  17. That is probably where they are putting in the new Dino Legs stand and are firing up the outside BBQ pit.
  18. I have had a few days to think up some video concepts that would be interesting and fun to do while incorporating the rules of this contest. this will take a bit of time seeing how we need to incorporate DA or WindSeeker in the background at some point. I think this contest is a cool way to see some of the ever increasing creative side of the members here. I also think this will give KICentral some exposure to some potential new members. I have always wanted to go further back into the woods surrounding The Beast so I think this will be a real treat for all those coaster enthusiasts. Anyone else putting thoughts to doing a video too?
  19. Cedar Point resort guest are allowed to partake in their ERT so they may have a larger guest crowd to accomadate.

    Lockers

Welcome to KICentral, You can rent a locker to your left as you enter the front gates or there are a few coin operated lockers available throughout the park and you can find those locations and any restrictions they may have on a park map as you walk in. I hope you enjoy Kings Island as much as many of us here do. Please feel free to let us know about your trip we are always interested to hear the thoughts about Kings Island from first time visitors.
  21. I am with you Robbie. True that Dink Kinzel should take a lot of pride in what he has achieved over the years working with Cedar Fair. Running a business or corporation is not always pretty and often the right choice is the lesser of two evils. In Mr. Kinzel's case he has sustained a long viability tenure in building the LLP into what it is today and you could measure that with dollars or smiles on guests faces. The problem I had with the open letter is that it left out some of the darker moments as if we are to just gloss over those issues, because it is the whole package that will determine a mans legacy. When the less than your best moments are not addressed by the people directly involved it allows others to interpret their understanding properly or not. So I had trouble with the I lead the way to a big investor return but I am not going to acknowledge that I about sold them out at half the price while I will come out OK either way. I admit from there on the open letter meant little to me. Just my opinion. I wish the whole family at Cedar Fair the best in the coming months and years to come.
  22. Well I used that bathroom last Friday and I would not say it is too shinny other than the paint. One more week till we get to experience Dinosaur Alive for ourselves I am really looking forward to this.
  23. Nobody on here could tell you for certain if Kings Island will honor a souvenir cup from another Cedar Fair park. Your best bet would be to call Kings Island guest services for an answer, Phone: (513)754-5700 . Hope that helps

    Windseeker

Hi Lauch as was mentioned WindSeeker has not opened as of yet. We have a quite lengthy discussion about the construction progress in the "Kings Island Central News" section of this board (a bit confusing I admit) so I am closing this thread and direct you there for the latest news that we have so far. Thanks for your understanding.
  25. Yeah it was between last Friday or Monday for me and I am glad we choose Friday now. I think I heard the park say that this year was a try and see year for opening up later but earlier for daily operations. I am afraid with the weather they will not be able to realize their full potential to draw a crowd for Mid-May weekdays. I figured the first year would be slim as the word has not spread enough about them being open. In a way I hope they offer Season Pass sneak peak days with/without this early week of operations.
