Wow – what a great keepsake photo! Thanks Todd for you response I think your description of seeing first trimmers reaction to the Orlando parks is how many of us feel when we get similar opportunities and the Twitter updates has been a great way to share that opportunity with so many of us. For Todd's Eyes Only: highlight from here Todd - you are doing such a wonderful job in touring Ryan around and I know between work, touring the parks and updating us here has to be a very tiresome time. Therefore I must warn that you may want to make sure you do not pass any Best Buys stores in your area. Otherwise this could could turn into a much longer trip, weeks, months or even years. Just sayin to here. Ryan good to hear you are having such a great time and getting to visit with so many friends form the past first hand. I am enjoying your frequent updates keep them coming when you have the time and opportunities to do so. I always find that after a active trip like yours by the time you leave the first two days will seem like a distant memory. Its like a exciting stimulation overload for the brain, there is so much going on that the memory part of the brain is pushing out the older stuff for the current stuff. Have Fun and remember if your feet get to sore, Orlando is the scooter capital of the world for a reason(you'll blend right in).

You mean if Paramount did not order the rides before Cedar Fair bought the Paramount parks. Because if that did not happen and Cedar Fair's decision to keep the order in place and not cancel it, then it very well could still be called Swan Lake. But as for what Paramount would have called it, I have no clue but I could safely assume it would have a similar Paramount movie title.

So far it has been great fun hearing about Ryan's big Orlando guided tour trip. Form his first hand analysis descriptions and photos, it sounds to me this will not be Ryan's last trip to Orlando. Todd - thanks for your insight from a different perspective, it is not very often you get to tour around with a amusement park enthusiast who has yet to see the splendider of what Orlando has to offer. Also if it is not to much trouble can we get a picture with Ryan at one of the parks so no one can claim his trip was staged. TIA. I hope you guys are having a blast and holding up well.

Wow, I am surprised with all the updates Ryan is sharing. It's almost like an update after every attraction.

It's good to hear Hauntguy is still pursuing his passion and even taking a big step in having a financial stake in it. I wish I had known this sooner I would have made a special trip to support a few business owner. Zach great pictures I can understand your protectiveness of your work, many who take their photography a serious as you do tend to upload to a paid site. It helps them to organize and control their work I suggest Phanfare and Smugmug.

Great feedback post standbyme and CoastersRZ. The Toy Factory show even won a best show award. in 2005 we had planned to go but a couple weekends it got super cold and had canceled a couple nights due to snow. We decided to wait to go the next year in 2006 in hopes for better weather and that the second year would be better that the first years operations, sadly it was canceled.

Sounds like he still has some Sorin to do today.

I am so happy that you are finally going down too see for yourself what all the excitement is all about. I have great respect for Delirium_guy and love his reviews, I can not think of anyone better to guide you around. Please Please with your schedule finish packing by Monday night and just sleep Tuesday night so you'll be rested and ready to go. Your description of the trip is like a box of chocolates. You are just picking off the corner of each one to see what you like best. I look forward to your updates but with that schedule I would rather you update us when you get back rather than you to miss something. If you ride Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket I really enjoyed The Beastie Boys soundtrack under the rap section, It is synced to the ride great. Have Fun and know if you need any bail money we'll be there for ya.

Disney, Raytheon Debut Sum Of All Thrills
Avatar replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
They both seem similar to each other. Sum of All Thrills looks more open and futuristic and with individual viewing screen vs. Cyberspace which completely surrounds you while both rides view the same screen. My Daughter and I both took a ride in the Cyberspace Mountain a week ago Wednesday at Disney Quest. Have ridden both HRRR and Cyberspace Mountain in the past couple weeks I agree with Todd that HRRR is nothing in any way like what I see in Cyberspace Mountain or Sum of All Thrills and that HRRR is lame as far as thrill coaster goes. But unlike Todd I did enjoy my rides on HRRR, every coaster has its purpose, while they may fall short of expectations I am glad they are all not the same experience. -
Nice read I enjoyed the report loooks like you had a great visit with the family.

I enjoyed readinng your report and as others have said great pictures. Your come across as a happy go lucky type person in your posts and report which always puts a smile on my face. look forward to more TR from you down the road.

Halloween Horror Nights 19(2009): Ripped from the Silver Screen
Avatar replied to dragsterfan420's topic in Trip Reports
They told me that it's because the ride is so new and they are afraid that too many HHN attending guest will be in line for HRRR that they will miss too much and spend to much time in line at HRRR. That came from a manager who gave be a special escort to the front of the line right before HHN so I could ride. -
Thanks for asking but no. Sadly the Busch parks (in particular Discovery Cove) was what we where looking forward to the most for this year. We decided to scale things back this year so that we could stretch our budget so that we could do some much needed things around the house but also so we may purchase some other personal wants. Discovery cove and to include the other Busch Central Florida parks would have cost us over $1000.00, we considered just doing that this year and not doing the other parks. Then we decided to just go to Gatlinburg Tennessee, well the planning was going well for that until my brother in Deland Florida called and suggested we should still come down and stay with him and to use our free Universal ticket, also that he had a extra car for us to use while we stayed with him. We just love Florida too much and just could not resist his offer. Well one thing lead to another and Disney called and offered us that even after a month of our reservation was to be canceled that they would still honor the deal of Free Dinning. How can I refuse that so here we are under 8 hours from taking off and looking forward to another great trip. My wife and daughter do not know that we will be staying on site at Universal or that we are staying for an extra day at Disney to do some extra activities that they both like, they think we are leaving on the 7th after a half day at Typhoon Lagoon. I'll surprise them with a new Picture Itinerary on the air plane or at the beach tomorrow. Here is the picture itinerary except the one picture uploaded on line does not show a final lunch at Tusker House at Animal Kingdom on our last day (scored a reservation last night). Lots of new things to do while we are there, we like it because we know next year we will be able to focus our trip around the Busch Parks.

All the Disney offers have been offered before and and truth be known they are starting to go up but in subtle ways. If your are staying at one of Disney;s moderate or deluxe resort you need to look for the 40% off deal otherwise your locked in. Kifan1980 – all I can say is that you all know at least one who goes every year for the free dinning. This is our forth year in a row and if it was not for the free dinning we would not be going this year. Trying to compare Universal tickets, Resort deals and Dinning deals to Disney's is like trying to compare apples to broccoli, really! Many of you know me and know I go down to Florida often and I will be down there by this time tomorrow. I take pride in getting the best deal possible either through the special offers by the venue, by AAA discounts or even by buying a annual pass to get a better deal. Both Disney and Universal have some good deals in some areas they are better than the other but again it is apples to broccoli in comparison. Goodyellowkorn18 I have worked the numbers and visit various paid member sites to get the best deals and if you are getting the 7 for 4 deal at a onsite Universal resort for under $600. please tell me how and where and the time of year because there are thousands of Universal fans who would like to know how you can do that. I can tell you that you can get a Disney value resort with free dinning for six days for $636.00. The Universal dinning deal does not give you a drink. I am not ripping Universal and infact we are looking forward to our on site visit this next week and our on site visit to Disney the following week. Here is the true honest assessment. When we have added up dollar for dollar for what we get at both places that include food, resort and tickets our Disney visit actually comes out a bit cheaper. I will be showing the number break down in the trip report like I did last year. The thing that I want to make sure that most families understand both places offer deals and in the end it comes out about the same and they both are in my opinion very family affordable when you look for the deals. Edit to add: A 8 day Disney magic Your Way ticket is $252.41 http://www.mousesavers.com/wdwticketprices.html

Nice trip report looks like you two made the best of a rainy day. That must have been a nerve racking drive home though.

Florida: It's Boo Season Again
Avatar replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Dave have a great trip the MNSSHP is a real blast and well worth the money and in my opinion, I can not think of a better way to end a Disney trip. It usually never sells out until late October dates. The don't miss activities is the Villains Mix and Mingle, Boo To You Parade and Hallowishes ( on Main street but not to close, seriously. Please make sure you dress up, I did not my first time and regretted it but last year I did and it really helped being in character for such an event with the whole family. Captain we were going to go to HHN and on the 8th but my step-son found out he could not go on vacation with us so we changed things around and decided to wait to go next year with him and who knows maybe we could get more KIC's to go next year. I know you guys will have fun as usual and that business stays steady after you get back. Diamondback FOF thanks I have done that for years and it only takes me about a half hour to do one. The family likes it to see what they are doing from one day to another in a fun way. I offer the Picture Itinerary to members of a paid site and to date it has been downloaded or e-mailed over 5,000. times to about everywhere in the world. If anyone wants a copy to get started just let me know. I am cheap and like to find good deals so we can do more with our budget. Like doing the Disney Halloween party for $50.00 for 8 hours with extra special activities versus paying $78.00 for 12 hours of regular park fun. So sometimes the deals dictate what and where we go. I don't really plan on what we do once we get there other than have made a reservation ahead of time so we can enjoy an air condition meal when we would like to eat. Like I said earlier I belong to a paid site that teaches members how to tour a park (not tell them what to ride in order) that fits our needs so that we may have lots of free time to enjoy the magic as it happens instead of being in lines in the heat of the day. Not to sound mean so please don't take it that way, but the paid site counts on 90% of the parks guests to tour they way you said. That makes touring a park great because the general public will tour very predictable and knowing what others will do and on what days we do opposite. I have done it for so long now it is just like second nature, keep in mind I have no set way to hit one attraction over another other than knowing the type of rides and how the public will generally tour. To us it gives us a lot of free time to do other things. It seems so many KIC's are going to Florida this year, I have always thought it would be fun to get a group to go down together. -
When they started the free dinning promotion 5 years ago is was only offered during the late summer early fall months like last week of August through September. This will be our fourth year in a row to take advantage of this deal. The first year included two meals with one being a table service which included appetizer, main entree, desert, non alcoholic drink and Disney picked up the tip as well. Then since it has been scaled back to not include the appetizer and waiter tip. We booked last year so we are grandfathered in to get the older deal this year or we would have skipped this year. The general public was offered the old deal last spring but during the summer months to fill up rooms they offered the free dinning to everyone and to include more dates. The big catch now is if you stay at the Value Resorts then you only get 2 counter service meals unless you pay an extra $10.00 per adult for the regular plan. Still a good deal for some but really there are better deals out there now. For us in the future we will be forced to pay more for less and for those who know me know I like to get the best deal possible so next year it looks like we'll be staying off site more. Dave I hope you have a safe but very magical trip.

I am looking forward to the latest trip report over to Dollywood.

Florida: It's Boo Season Again

Delirium_Guy how exciting about checking Disneyland out, I can not wait to hear more about it form you because you give the best reviews. I have never been to Disneyland but I want to go next year after they open their new night show "Wonderful World Of Color". We are putting of the Busch/Seaworld and Discovery Cove parks this year so that we can save a bit this year and concentrate on taking full advantage of the free Universal tickets we have. The thing is we looked forward to the Discovery Cove and the Busch parks so much that we are kind of bumed but know next year we will be able to have more time there and will have gotten other destinations out of the way. Delirium_Guy we have been to the Food and Wine Festival the past three years and have loved the food samplings and the free concerts, with Starship and Beach Boys being our favorite. This year we will be limited to WDW for 4 days so EPCOT is scheduled to happen for us on the 5th of October and that nights concert does not do anything for me. Oh well , we can not win them all. Hope to hear more about your trip, have fun!!! - Jesse Edit to add; Picture Itinerary here is what we have planned thus far for our trip. -

Nick when are you going? We are going to US/IOA Sept 30- Oct 1 and Mickeys Halloween on the 6th of October. Hope to see you there. -
Sorry I have not been on much lately as I have been extremely busy with several projects, although I have been reading a lot of KIC on the IPhone. The newly announced projects by Disney is huge and what I have seen on here is only a small sampling about what was announced and how. First Disney created D23 a new serious Disney paid fan enthusiast club. They charged around $80.00 to join and many complained but Disney offered a magazine and said D23 will be given access to special opportunities and be the first to find out information. So they decided to hold a special D23 Expo last week (Thurs – Sat) for the new D23 club. That is where the information has been flowing out Disney should be very proud about announcing the large variety of Disney projects to their best fans, everything from housewares, wedding dresses, movies, TV lineup, Music, Movies and new theme park projects. If the Golden Ticket was awarded to best announcement presentation this year I think Disney would win that hands down for the way they did it and to whom they announced it to. Now Orlando Attractions has been there all week gathering information and video taking many of the announcements with photos to show other aspects of the D23 expo. So for those who want to see who was there ( most Disney management, Actors Robin Williams, Nicholas Cage, Johnny Depp, Singers Miley Cyrus) follow the link to the page of Orlando Attractions Magazine page that shows many of the events, just follow the link. http://www.attractionsmagazine.com/blog/ I personally can not wait to experience the New in Disney.

I have been able to check-in on KIC briefly for the past couple days and this thread has has kept me interested to check-in as often as I could. First let me say this type of topic in my opinion is one of the reasons I love KICentral so much. See we/I love Kings Island and discussing Kings Island with others and news of a big change is big news in our community. This type of news deserves to be well discussed and I appreciate all who have contributed to the discussion with their own open, honest and concerns about such a change, good, bad or indifferent.. In my opinion discussions like the one you all have been discussing here benefits not only us in gaining perspective of diverse opinions but I also believe it can help Kings Island understand how the general public may react to it and the concerns or support they will have. Let me share the following with you; In many ways the work of a critic is easy, we risk very little yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their-selves up to our judgment we thrive on negative criticism which is fun to write and to read. But a bitter truth we critic's must face is that in the grand scheme of things, the average piece of junk is probably more meaningful than our criticism designating itself. But there are times when a critic truly risks something and that is in the discovery and defense of the new. The world is often unkind to new talent, new creations, the new needs friends. I know that is a mouthful and feel free to rat me out but like much of life it is bitter sweet. I feel twisted about the news of Planet Snoopy taking over the Nickelodeon Universe and truly understand the feelings of others on their position and I like that we have a place to share our feelings. I know at least this much, when the 2010 season rolls around I know KICentral members and because of their passion for Kings Island they will be a friend of the new in Planet Snoopy.

This documentary is exceptionally produced and is a treasure to every Kings Island fan enthusiasts out there. I want a copy of this documentary for myself. I think KICentral should consider having all new members watch this documentary before they can post their first post. Being a Kings Island enthusiast myself since 1972 I an overwhelmed with this treasure chest full of new unknown facts to me regarding my home park. Riding History to the Limits is a must view for every Kings Island fan and theme park history buff.

Hello again. After attending Great Ohio Coaster Club and invited KICentral members Mid-Summer Scream event I went through my pictures and videos and thought I should share my experience by doing another trip report of the event. I decided I wanted to try something new in sharing a trip report. As I started to look through my photo album I said to myself the best way to share the experience would be to invite you over and go through the pictures together. Well that got me to thinking and I decided yeah let's do that, lets go through the album together. I'll put some music on and let the photo album tell the story of Mid-Summer Scream. All you need to do is hit the play button (sometimes twice) below and sit back and enjoy. You know I have said many times the KICentral members make every event wonderful and memorable, this was true Saturday as well. I think KICentral members would even have fun touring the parking lot and riding the Kings Island Resort bus for a ERT. That speaks volume about the members here. I feel that we are very fortunate to have a place like KICentral to come to and share our experiences, I also think KICentral is fortunate to have such great members who participate in various activities. I had a great time as usual and got to meet so many fellow members again and even for the first time in some cases. I enjoyed and felt very welcomed by the Great Ohio Coaster Club, they seem like a first class organization and I think I will join Great Ohio Coaster Club so I can get to know them better and to go to other events with them. I am linking to my album as I told many of you that I would share my pictures and videos with you and feel free to download and use them as you wish. I did use some of the picture from fellow attending members in the video to help tell the story. Avatar's Photo Album Mid-Summer Scream Thanks for taking the time to view my Photo Album Jesse/Avatar

Nice report, I really enjoyed spending time with you and the excitement you added to the day by ridding Drop Tower for your first time with us. Ryan took the video on my camera and I have it uploaded and will send you a copy after I post my video trip report sometime tomorrow (I think you are going to enjoy the last part of the video the most).
