Well I mostly drink water but yeah I take a few drinks from that souvenir cup and am not worried about cheating the system from those sips either. Especially after being told someone did not run wristbands to a particular stand a couple weeks ago so we had to pay full price all day, the supervisor only made suggestions on how I could pay more for their problem. So since they don’t play nice to remedy their shortcomings, I won’t feel guilty for a few sips in a shared souvenir cup.

If the price increase is true, then well just refill our souvenir cup. Another Gold Pass perk being adjusted to the parks favor to the point it should not be considered a Gold Pass perk. Although if they charged the general admissions guests $8.99 for a wristbands and kept the Gold Pass wristbands to $6.99, that would be a real perk.

I think if you count by your measure of an hour and a half loop on our last visit we were in BB from 10:30 to 6:45 and that means we would have been hearing the track for the seventh time. I glad some employees have gotten used to it, but as an guest it was getting very annoying and from other posts here it looks like other guests where annoyed too. But just as long as the employees are happy that’s OK.

Great - keep it coming! BTW at Disney World Fast Passes don't expire on the same day, you just can not go before the printed time but can go after the suggested time. They know you get caught up at dinner and so forth so the return by time is ignored. Before anyone says different, this is Disney official policy; they just put the second time to get most guests to return earlier to keep from having large crowds at the end of the day.

…..and interpreter keeps the beating of the drums right in line with the rest.

Wow!!! Sounds like you had a great time, nice pictures I would like to see more if you have time later. Sounds like the theming of the rides and shows helped you enjoy you Disney experience even more. Every Fall during our Disney World trip we enjoy the awesome themed rides and shows and I wonder why the seasonal parks can not do a little better in the theme area. So my first trip back to KI after our trip is the hardest but still fun and we are glad we have a park within a days visit. Again glad you have had and awesome experience and thanks for the great pictures, report.

Hey there stanbyme – sorry to be so long to post a response to your trip report but in the spirit of delay, I guess it’s better late than never! Hey though I did enjoy reading your report and thanks for taking the time to do it and the pictures with descriptions was great too. I liked the photos of rope holders. Also thanks for the photo and descriptions of the character breakfast, we have wanted to go to one soon as we have done several at Disney and have enjoyed them.

Markr – I hear you and your concerns about one price fits all but once I read Ryan’s FAQ thread http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?...st&p=230371 which he explains why price is the same and what all it includes I have no problem with the price and think the regular day admissions guests are getting a steal of a deal. I have planned a lot of events and conferences in my days past and know a lot of little expenses add up, but those little extras really made the events run smoothly and added more entertainment value for just a little more. I would always have a few who would question the price until they realized the expense that it took. The thing is the biggest cost that would normal drive the price up is the labor that it would cost to put on such events but often times that expense is volunteered and so the savings is passed to the participants. I know a lot of people are volunteering and the park is helping this event to keep cost down, so please understand they are trying to put a exciting event together but some costs will be necessary. I know they weigh the cost very carefully and if it is to steep don’t be upset as they are trying to please as many members as they can. I think the value is great for everyone.

I can not wait to finally get to come to one of these events, even though I haft to get rid of my tickets to tour the new Lucas Oil Stadium preview. My question is there a price difference for those who have season passes verses those who need a day ticket? If so what is the price for season pass holders for the KICentral Second Coming event?

There are three songs that I have downloaded on my mobile phone and one of them is Hot Fun in the Summertime, it is sung by The Original Family Stone. I have always liked that song and when I knew they would be playing live at Epcot while we where down there last September/October I not only had to see them but I had to get front row seats. But also while we were there and at Typhoon Lagoon Water Park my daughter would hear many songs played by the Beach Boys and she said at the time that they where her new favorite band (oh vacations). Since The Beach Boys were playing during our stay at EPCOT too, we had to see them. You can see in the photo below she was thrilled We love water parks a lot in fact we often spend as much time in them as we do in the theme/amusement parks and while at Walt Disney World last Fall for fifteen days five of them where at the Water Parks. Why did I tell you this; because as much as I like the two groups songs, plus the sentimental value to them and our love for water parks the short Sound Track at Boomerang Bay caused us to go away being sick of the songs from hearing them so many times in one day. I will love hearing them again but I need some time before then. Avatar

I remember the skit they did and it made the whole train ride an adventure. When they would jump on the train they would move along the metal outside step and with every step there cowboy boots would make a loud noise and made it seem very interactive to the guests. I can see where it would be a bit scary to kids but not like haunt scary but more of a nervous kind, to be honest those kinds of memories stick and I wish I could share that with my daughter now.

Thanks Ryan I started to head to Boomerang Bay’s Guests Relations office after the first incident but half way there I remembered how useless they were a couple weeks back and figured I would be wasting my time and risking making my frustration worse, so I turned around and went back to my seat. I often worry that maybe we fanboy’s can be over critical so sometimes I choose to think about it more before reacting to the situation. To be honest I have not been very happy with the attitudes of the water park and can back up my complaints with some names and experiences, I’m afraid that once I get started I may end up complaining about all my experiences there this year and don’t want to be labeled as a disgruntled guest. The part that gets me is I do not want other guest to haft to see or go through similar negative experiences, so that may get me to responded to KI main guests relations but for me I’ll learn from each of these occurrences and try not to put myself in those situations again. Now for a positive; the train crew and I mean all of them are very nice this year and have got more active with the guests with active cheers contests and points of interests. Great job KIMVRR Crew. P.S. does anyone know why a trophy was in the Telegraph Post Office Shed today?

We visited KI water park today 7/19/08, we left our souvenir cup at home to try the new Gold Pass drink deal, when we went to the Outback Shack get a wristband and a drink the cashier said yes and rang us up. We waited about 3-4 minutes then he comes over and says I need to refund your money, because they have not brought the wristband to us today” I questioned it and asked will they get them later and he said yeah they should , I complained some more and the supervisor came over to help the cashier refund my money and repeated that someone has not brought the wristbands over yet. He said he understands how I felt but offered no solution but come back later. I said but what about my drink now he offered to sell me another souvenir cup for full price or drinks on their menu for full price. We said we would come back later. After an hour and a half (12:30PM) my wife went back and they still had no wristband so she paid full price $3.69 for a Coke and did so for the rest of the day. I over paid for soda all day today because I went with the false presumption that I would have been able to get a wristband for soda service. Not happy with the service at Boomerang Bay it seems to me that no one cares over there, but at least they offer a response of they understand how we feel. It did not ruin our day by any means but wonder if they feel bad that we were not able to participate and save from their offer as they are concerned about others taking advantage of their offer.

Agreed but they probably hear it like I cant hear my Grandfather clock chiming 3 feet from me all day.
-
Sorry to hear that House I would not wish that short looping sound track on anybody, don’t get me wrong I like the songs but to hear it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and…………..
-
LOL we where at the park today too and only stayed in the water park area. I heard that same sound track probably 10 + times, we even discussed that fact at the park and while we were driving home. When we got into the car wife grabbed iced cold sodas I immediately turned the radio and said “YES finally a song I have not heard 10 times today!!!!!!!!” Mplebanon – I can relate to what you are saying about not returning to the Water park because of the music, that thought crossed my mind too. I will say we spend a lot of time in the water park and I think while the dry side is getting better in a lot of areas, the water park is getting equally worse. I truly feel this way from a lot of visits and many personal negative experiences there this year.

Well if the Amusement/Theme park operators can not see the opportunity to raise a few more nickels by requiring all guests to put their hats in lockers before getting in line to ride various coasters; then maybe someone from congress can pass a law forbidding guests wearing hats within 1,000 feet from any coaster in operation, for our own safety of course. When will this senseless hat retrieving practice end?
-
Maybe to avoid confusion they could offer single issue writ bands for the set price and a family/group wrist band deal that would be at a set price for 4 wrist bands or the first wrist band at a higher price with each additional at a lower price to cover the multitudes of family/group sizes.

I agree that most pod casts I have heard I would have rather watched paint dry. But those are ones that usually just have one person doing all the commentary and seem to be reading their notes with little enthusiasm of the topic they where discussing. The ones that I have enjoyed had 3-4 regular commentators each show with a couple periodical commentators. They divided the topics up and give each commentator so much time to discuss their topic while the others offer serious/comical anecdotal comments to keep it interesting. Example if one of the topics was merchandise the commentator may be someone that enjoys shopping and gives listeners tips on what’s new in the stores games and so forth. Another one could get into food and beverages and discuss the food options, bar areas, quality, and reports of sampling of the items. Other ideas would be Rides Park Maintenance Merchandise Food & Beverages Tips and Tricks (including helpful Touring tips) Entertainment Lodging I think splitting it up to several commentators usually allows someone who may be interested in that topic to get more insight because they are interested in it which comes across to the listeners more insightful and entertaining.

7 rides in and a concert; sounds like you had a great day.

Ronny – when I see a trip report and the author is Gordon Bombay I know before I open it up that it is going to well thought out, planed, written and most of all a fun entertaining read. You tend to add humor and insight that is easy to understand and instead of just saying nice trip report, I just wanted you to know what I was really thinking. Nice Trip Report Ronny! It seems that everyone (including myself) who end up venturing over to Coney Island say how pleasantly surprised they are with the park. Coney has charm and is a nice gem to have in a community.

I just love live trip reports, this one has been so relaxing to read. When I came home today I was looking to see if you posted an update yet, glad to hear you are enjoying your time with your dad and sister. I like the pictures so far and just want to thank ichase for helping out.
-
Hey Thanks! I enjoy these generational reports a lot. See this year when you go and pose in front of the Kings Island sign it will be different already a sign of age. My favorite pictures in the slide show are the one you are holding her for two reasons one because she is so adorable in the green outfit and two because the pride on your face is priceless. The second picture I like a lot is one of Zoe on the Grand Carousel looking up at the lights. Got to love those times. The song you used “I think I love you” was that used with Zoe or your wife in mind? That is such a romantic time and I think where most couples find the true meaning of what partnership is. Thanks you know I will always be glad to see more trip reports from you guys.

Sounds like a platinum of a plan. So will the young one be staying with grandparents? (they like that)
