Sounds like a FearFactor episode. Maybe Kings Island should set up a FearFactor event and put it in the Paramount Theater and have guests be subject to all kinds of FearFactor antics. Then change the antics year after year, I could see how that would be entertaining to watch for some guest and some would like to partake in the creepy crawling and the drinking of gross concoctions.

Actually the Fearfest characters would be horrified when they got onto the coaster because it’s hard enough trying to fit on that coaster for someone who is fit, let alone for someone who has a full costume on.

Shman; Interesting .. Thanks. The reason why we were under that impression was because we could see the special costumes and make up being done to some of the cast members and so we asked why they were being made up in the manor that they were being made up. We were told that they were getting ready for and rehearsing for the FearFest show then we had a discussion about it, and how we thought that was going to be a great new addition to the FearFeast event. The person who told us this must have been a little confused because obviously there must have been two groups working in the Paramount Theater at the same time. That evening was the fist time I have ever been behind the scenes at Paramount Kings Island and I was extremely surprised at how kind and accommodating everyone was, from the top down. I glad to hear that there is still going to be a live show at Paramount Theater for FearFeast and thank you for setting the record straight!

The around $200.00 price is not including the admissions to the parks but we encourage everyone who is going on the trip to get one an Adult Max at their convenience. The trip is defiantly on and is being vigorously planned, notice in some other threads some meetings have taken place at the park. After meeting several of the members I can’t wait to meet the rest of you all and think it will be an even closer forum community after the trip . I think right now it really is coming down to which dates are best and when High Schools and Collages let out. I think after spending some time with some of the members here, I have decided to add my name to the NO Ryan in my room list. Everyday and after meeting more of you I know this trip is going to be a BLAST!! As far as the numbers go, the more the merrier but a smaller group offers its advantages too. So either way it’s goanna happen , so save your pennies and get plenty of sleep (because of Ryan), June is fast approaching and you don’t want get to the Park and wonder where everybody is. Like the photo below.

Thanks for the info I thought man that would be cool till I saw the picture of that dog on the roller coaster. I think if I took my dogs on something like that I would end up with a vet or a cremation bill!!!

Tell me more about and where is Strickers Grove? I was just suggesting to my wife that maybe this Saturday we should go down to Holiday World.

The Future of Geauga Lake
Avatar replied to cstrwomann's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
That would be nice I wish all Cedar Fair Parks offered a buffet style dinners, including Kings Island (that would be cool). Well here's to hoping. -
I really did remember I was just seeing if anybody else on the forum noticed the live show coming for the FearFeast event in October. It was looking like they are putting a lot of detail into it. I for one will enjoy a good live show during FearFeast. P.S. I can explain the noodle incident in one word. “Ryanâ€Â

Does anyone know about: Monster Bash (located in Paramount Theatre) 8:00, 9:00, 10:00, 11:00 . Is it just an old haunt movie, or what?

I think the picture below will answer your question, King Bowser; I don't know about everybody else’s dogs, but yes our dogs are pampered and I am constantly asking my wife “are we doing everything we can do to spoil themâ€Â. Another photo of intrest is the one below. They would throw a ball in the pool by the life gaurd and the dogs would run and jump into the pool trying to get the ball.

Hi this is Chachi; Jesse and Lisa's Yorkshire Terrier dog and I have a sister named Jewels. All summer long my family has been going to Kings Island and "The Beach" Water Park and have told us that dogs were not allowed. So the last time they went Jewels and me had to find out for ourselves so we got on "The Beach" Water Park website and we found out that on September 10th 2006 all dogs would be welcomed. So when father went to work we pulled up "The Beach" website on the computer. When father got home he said; look the beach allows dogs on Sunday maybe we should take them! Jewels and me got really excited., so Sunday came and off we went. When we arrived and checked in we were amazed by how many of our fellow canine friend were there. We sniffed around a while and watched the dogs in the wave pool. Then they announced the contest for the best dressed dogs, when Jewels heard that she drug father all the way too the sign up table! I was very proud of Jewels. She pranced around when they introduced her., she ended up getting first runner up. Jewels now has a crush on the winner. After the contest mother took us back to our table and we were very pleased when father came back with two big hot dogs, one for me and one for Jewels. Then after dinner father rented a water tube and put Jewels and me on one side and took us out to the wave pool. After we got done floating in the water tube with father he let us swim with the other dogs in the wave pool. When we got done swimming we were pretty tired and decided to take a rest. After about 45 minutes we wanted to go sniff some more and we did. On the way home Jewels feel asleep. I heard my parents say they really enjoyed themselves and look forward to doing it again. Because of all the attention I got and our own hot dogs. Jewels and me can't wait until next year now!! Chachi

LOL ; I think we should have the Admins do an investigation into the black jelly beans/bright green urine theory and then release a feature article on it!

Price Cuts Fail To Aid Some Cedar Fair Parks
Avatar replied to The Interpreter's topic in Kings Island
Very true and just think what Paramount Parks would have brought in as far as attendance and sales wise if they had lowered the prices for those families. If you were a family and decided to go to an Amusement /Theme Park, which park would you go to the one with a lot of Mega Extreme coasters or the one that has a huge kids ride area and a great kid’s water area. Then you as the family would need to look at your budget and decide to go to the more family affordable priced park or the more expensive one. Both former Paramount and Cedar Fair parks are right and wrong when it comes to trying to get more attendance and per capita spending per person at their parks, in my humble opinion. Former paramount parks for focusing in on the whole family as far as attractions for the whole family to raise sales and attendance or the Cedar Fair parks for aiming to be more affordable to families to attract more guests to the park. We the Guests and also the Amusement /Theme parks could really benefit greatly if they would just learn a little from each others successes. -
LongLiveTheSmurfRide; I thought that your avatar was a Smurf but after reading your Trip Report to Holiday World, I see that it really is your self portrait. . Well; at least you still have a smile on your face! I enjoyed the report and I hope that when we go next year that it is a walk on for us too.

That is so true; my wife’s biggest complaint for the last couple of years is that the shops are mainly just selling Park related items. As ones who come often those items don’t appeal to us as much as other always changing specialty and unique items would. If they did go in that direction I can say with 100% certainty that our families per capita spending would go up at the parks.

Why Are All Posts Not Counted
Avatar replied to RailRider's topic in KICentral Footnotes & Small News
So then should the original poster of a Trip Report get 2 post credits for their effort? By the way I’m not being serious, and I won’t get a credit for this post either. -
I agree with you ^ RailRider; at present Kings Island has taken away so mush entertainment and it doesn’t leave a lot of areas for guest to find a nice relaxing area to get away to. The Gardens did just that, I found a lot of seniors like sitting by the International Street Fountains or at the Paramount Story Gardens (a little quieter).

Motley Fool's Take On Maverick
Avatar replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Also another great article find; they really didn’t say if Maverick was going to be good for Cedar Fair or not, except they do say Maverick is good because Cedar Fair has learned to reach out and use the internet resources effectively. Which to me means this is great news for internet fan sites, because amusement/theme parks are actively going to the website to promote their new acquisitions and really see the value in them. -
Great research find, The Interpreter; It really kind of says that Cedar Fair attendance and spending per capita is about the same which is ok, but they have been working real hard to build attendance and spending. So knowing that, it really isn’t good news for Cedar Fair.

I’m hopping for one of the double tubes with a bottom on one side, so I can put our dogs in and go out in the wave pool and float. They have no idea what’s about to happen to them. Jewels has to go to the groomers tomorrow because she will absolutely refuse to go out in public without a trip to the groomers first! But Cha Chi he's a typical male "who cares about my hair let's GO...".

For those of us who have dogs and are looking for something to do Sunday, Seaptember10th 2006. And since we can’t go to Kings Island. "The Beach" is having their Dog Day’s of Summer Sunday, Sep. 10 Dog Day Bring your dog to The Beach for a day of Wet & Wild fun. The Wavepool will be open for doggy swim. The League For Animal Welfare will host Dog Day Olympics to include contests such as the Dog Dive, Toy Retrieve, Bobbing for Wieners, Biscuit Toss and more. Print out a coupon for $12 admission for September 10. A portion of the gate will benefit the League for Animal Welfare. Enjoy live music from Aleatory on the Kokomo Stage. RULES FOR DOG DAY: • All dogs attending must be kept on a 6' or shorter leash. • All dogs must have proof of current vaccinations • Female dogs in any state of heat will not be allowed to participate So if you have felt guilty leaving your four legged friends at home all summer while you played at the parks, well here is your chance to make-up for it!! Maybe we’ll see you there!!

I got the feeling from them that it is because of the members contribution to the forum, is why they try so hard to give us quality information and to go that extra mile for us. And for you two hoodlums above I’ll never tell.

I just wanted to take a minute to tell you all what I have learned first hand about the Admin’s who run PKICentral.com. Since I have started to help with the plans for the pkictour2007 trip they encouraged us to go forward and as it grew they have seen that this would be something that a lot of members would enjoy. So they contacted me through other avenues and thanked me and expressed appreciation for Reon for his efforts. Then they told me how they could help in several area’s in the planning and that they thought this would be a wonderful trip for PKIC members, themselves and for Kings Island. They went on to tell me how much they appreciate the members on the forum and wanted it to give it everything they have to set a standard for what PKICentral.com is all about. So I’m going to fast forward a bit; I was invited to meet up at Kings Island over Labor Day weekend to discuss ideas and have a face to face meeting. We did so and got a lot accomplished, but I left that evening with so much more and I wanted you all to know what touched me about these guys. They are very very devoted to this forum and to you the members. I asked questions about some members and they always answered with knowledgeable information on the member and gave thoughts how that particular member has contributed to the forum, In short they value and listen to their members. I was taken around the park and was shown little less known facts about the park, I felt like a VIP and while they were doing that they were hoping and wishing aloud what they would like to share and do with the members of this forum. I really enjoyed the time with them and was amazed at their total dedication they have towards PKICentral.com and its members. With attitudes like theirs I can say with the utmost confidence that PKICentral.com is in good hands and has a long future ahead of it. I’ll just end with this; Thank-you guys for a great evening and I look forward to working with you guys in helping you meet your goals. And that I just wanted my fellow members know the dedication you guys give every single day to PKICentral.com and its members

RailRider; I’m glad that you thought it over and maybe can reason out why they went with Maverick. I mean I like a great coaster and all, but sometimes something different and unique is great too. I haft to admit I do like IJST at Kings Island and would like it a lot better if it was longer and that they could get it working with all it’s features going at the same time (but it has a bad location).I love the idea of mixing interactive themes in with coasters. I think the public really likes to be entertained and there is an endless amount of imagination and ideas that mixed in to give us the best of both worlds, let us hope!! You also mentioned that you might go on the trip and I hope you do. I also will haft to take off work to go and I’m mindful of others will haft to do the same, so a split over weekend & weekdays and also with the help of Admins it’ll be more than just bare bones to make it worth your time off,

I can only speak for myself; I would much rather have a long ride with more attention paid to the details and the quality of the ride than ride a short rough coaster to just break new records. I am looking forward to going up to Cedar Point next year as I have never been there before. I knew that there was going to be a lot of super high thrill coaster to try out, but now with Maverick in the mix it sounds like I’ll have a coaster with more attention paid to the length and the special designed effects area’s of the coaster, as only Cedar Point can do.
