Coney set to Introduce Twister in 2009
westcoaster replied to CoastersRZ's topic in Coney Island Central
Custom build a tumble bug would rock!!!, And a flying scooter. However after reading the posts, People dont' give coney enough credit, the rides are 2nd fiddler to the Water side, But it does compliment the wet side of the park. Face Facts coney is the # 2 amusement park in Cincinnati. Question could coney afford to do a christmas celebration or is it to close to the zoo really to make a profit??? And one last thought question?? Is coney under any restrictions what they can build so they don't compete with Kings Island??? Or is it fair game>>>> One last thing, Is there any other story of Coney's success closed coney along witht the flood To build Kings Island, but then Coney did'nt want to die, and came back pretty strong,,, has this happened any where else??????? -
Coney set to Introduce Twister in 2009
westcoaster replied to CoastersRZ's topic in Coney Island Central
face facts, This is the best for Coney, what an addition and what a name, and 2 will be on tubes, 2 body slides that rocks!! Great for Coney: -
I was there opening night, it was cold, it was a great Christmas experience, mystical, magical, like disney the Parade rocked. Lot different than the first winterfests: Yep I guess paramount teased us, but really, they were hoping disney or the bush's of the world would buy the park for mega Buck$ But in the end over bush I'm for one glad Cedar Fair bought it: With Bush all up in the air right now: Also Winterfest Will never return for now Even thought I feel the beach packs them in for there christmas stuff , and the Zoo of Cincinnati, They will dominate christmas spirit forever, if Ki had never xcl there's maybe???

Here's the Article froDon't mourn the departed Trekkies yet. Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman and Neonopolis developer Rohit Joshi say the defunct Star Trek: The Experience attraction at the Hilton is moving downtown. S If it works it would be the biggest resurrection since Mr. Spock reanimated on planet Genesis -- both for the Experience show and the troubled Neonopolis development. Goodman let the news slip Thursday morning during a chat with reporters at City Hall. Later Joshi, developer for the struggling Neonopolis mall on Fremont Street, confirmed a deal was close. But he clearly wasn't prepared for the news to leak. "You kind of shocked me," Joshi said when asked about the potential deal. "I don't know how to respond to that." He continued: "We are in very serious negotiations. We think it would be a fantastic addition to downtown." Joshi also produced a bound agreement with CBS Consumer Products, the licensing division of the media giant that owns the rights to the Star Trek name, dated Monday. Leslie Ryan of CBS said the company had no statement on the potential move. CBS owns the costumes, rides and other hardware and intellectual property that make up the Experience. It licensed the material to Cedar Fair Entertainment Co., to operate the Experience at Las Vegas Hilton. But that agreement ended when the show closed at the Hilton, leaving CBS free to license the material to someone else. Cedar Fair spokeswoman Stacy Frole said the company had no involvement with the move downtown. Star Trek: The Experience had an 11-year run at the Hilton that ended Sept. 1. If Joshi is able to revive it downtown he will be operating an attraction that lured millions of people to Las Vegas for Star Trek rides, themed food, a museum and even weddings. "We don't have volcanos, we don't have fountains, we have got to create attractions," Joshi said. Reviving the attraction won't be easy, though. In addition to retrofitting space on the first floor of the mall to accommodate the rides, restaurant, museum and other show elements, Joshi would need to bring back the audience. Even hard-core Star Trek fans say that by the end of its run at the Hilton the attraction was getting stale and needed an update. And a new "Star Trek" movie scheduled for release in May would make the old props look even more dated by comparison. "I think it is a mistake to take what was there and re-create it," said Anthony Pascale, editor of the Web site TrekMovie.com. "It was getting a little long-in-the-tooth." Pascale said the version at the Hilton was aimed at a generation of Star Trek fans tuned into the series "Star Trek: The Next Generation." "That is just part of Star Trek, not all of Star Trek," Pascale said. He suggested a revived Experience would need to incorporate the new movie and more of the original 1960s television series which later spawned several movies including "Star Trek III: The Search For Spock," a film that included the resurrection of Mr. Spock, the U.S.S. Enterprise's science officer and perhaps the most renowned Star Trek character in popular culture. No matter how a new Experience unfolds, Goodman was clearly excited by the prospect of Neonopolis living up to its promise to attract new blood downtown, even if it becomes Nerdopolis in the process. He practically beamed as he dropped the news on Thursday. Neonopolis has long been viewed as a black hole in terms of development downtown. The complex is between the east end of the Fremont Street Experience canopy and the west end of Fremont East, a bar and entertainment district that includes the El Cortez hotel-casino. The mall has struggled to attract tenants and its lack of life has been blamed for reducing foot traffic between the canopy and Fremont East. "It would be ironic," Goodman said of the potential for landing Star Trek. "Perhaps the most successful place downtown could be Neonopolis, even though it has been an albatross around my neck all these years." m the LVRJ local Las vegas paper, Interesting Would Cedar Fair put a bid on it to still run this???

When will we see new stuff added to Boomerang Bay Will Cedar Fair ever make it a seperate park? What are your thoughts they'll add, to the park and when: My predicitions: It will be a seperate park by 2012: (the beach will be out of business). We will add an action river ( kind of a lazy river with rapids and even more diversions etc. in 2010 With the action river in 2010 we will add another Wave pool. and 2011 we will see a new tower of slides:
-
its time for a coaster::::: for sure::::
-
1-beast 2-Firehawk 3-white water canyon 4-racers; 5-top row of the pirate ship
-
from all the reading of course: it sounds like no new dry side stuff this year, however in the wet side all new stuff. But maybe 2010 even 2011 a coaster of some sort: ]

westcoaster replied to Lake54321's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Yes too many waterparks in one area..But curious Wisconsin dells has how many waterparks, and indoor parks???? Maybe they were trying to create some of that magic. Maybe disney could start opening buying up indoor waterpark's and disney theme them??? -
what do you think cedar fair could do to improve ki?
westcoaster replied to skaterboy22101's topic in Kings Island
1) sit down restraunt: 2) something like a lost river or fantastic voyage: move all water rides to river town : 3)Nothing at all: -
I would say rides side at least a couple years away from getting new stuff?? What new canoes in 2008???? Also, The slide area will be awseome I'm sure. Coney is trying to thrive and really there are only 2 parks left in cincinnati Funny its the one that was created out of coney and Coney being the only 2 left:::: Wow just think Coney could draw more people than the beach water park soon Oh wait does'nt it already????
-
Cedar Fair Rocks: and the de theming is fine Firehawk is great : And the new coaster looks great Heck the park looks so clean:
-
so Will IR ever be a new restraunt or will they knock down the whole entrance to get a nice restraunt in there??? and revitalize the whole entrance.

Why don't they build a real lost river ? I know it would cost but it is always talked about around town.
-
it would have still been around and they ruined the building it sits in face it scooby is 10 times smaller and they should have built a seperate building for this. Enchanted voyage would have been as famous as beast;

Is diamondback just the start of a great amusment park
westcoaster replied to diamondback2009's topic in Coming Attractions
Or could this be a great new addition to a much needed part of the park River town in general for years has been cut or shrunk . It needs a reason besides The Beast to come to the river town Its a great area That can get so much better. We shall see. maybe they can get a store or two and country show to come back too: But overall Kings Island is a great park, and will continue to be maybe a hotel on site. and if they build another wooden coaster it will be a shooting star clone. what i think would be great in river town would be a remake of a tunnel of love with from old coney a lost river wow Would that be great!!!!!! or what!! -
Cedar Point was rocking millenium, magnum, top thrill dragster was fun, exciting. the park was great and its such a resort. Planet Snoopy new this year is incredible, the joe cool cafe was great, and my 5 year old loved the whole new land, I still say they did better theming with camp snoopy, but 4 kids parks is needless to say 4 kids park's. Cedar Point was not bad crowd wise on thur/friday. and the resort feel you get at the point is incredible. my favorite coaster still is magnum, great area on beach. The bmx stunt show in the old dolphin stadium on the lake was incredible show. and cedarpoint still has better fries than Kings Island. for those of you worried about seat belts on top thrill, millenium i'm 280 and 5ft 6 " no issues. great ride time, The great drink deal is good 2.00 for refills, is incredible. and the nice cool sit down restraunts help too for relaxation. favorite flat ride witches wheel like sky lab, and tie Firehawk the screamin swing wow!!! If you get a chance get up to the point;
