  1. I am pleased. Now that CF has seemingly taken possession, KI and the other former Paramount Parks, can commence transition into the new company. Change can be good. Change can be scary. In this case, I think that change will be very good. I am so happy that CF purchased the parks instead of and investment company. I am so happy that Maureen Kaiser and the same dedicated staff will be at KI to serve the guests. I am so happy that PKICentral or KICentral as it might soon be known is here for KI fans like us to share thoughts and information. Have a great great weekend! Italian Chef
  2. When will the final deal be signed? Maybe this week. Maybe next month. I think the BIGGER question is when do the properties actually switch ownership. Will it be during the season or after the season ends? That, I don't know. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  3. Your trip reports always seem to end with some sort of tragedy... whether it's someone getting sick or the park being over crowded. Kind of a bummer really... Glad you had a good time. No tragedy. It's just being the father of a 2-year old with allergies. He gets tired, crankly and his allergies act up. When that happens, it's time to leave the park. And as for crowds, Toddler Chef doesn't have the patience for long lines. You'll know what it's like someday. Being a parent isn't easy - but it is all worth it. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  4. Not yet - no pics. It's not a Scooby Doo costume. It just a pair of shorts with a Scooby Doo t-shirt. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  5. The new GM of Kings Island, whomever he or she will be, will make important decisions that affect our Kings Island experience. I think that we will be in good hands with Cedar Fair. Sure I will miss "Paramount", but the reality is what it is. So long as we the enthusiasts communicate to Maureen Kaiser and her awesome staff what we'd like to see......our ideas will be considered. Let us face it. We don't interact with the higher ups. We interact with the line folks. They are the ones who have always given us an awesome Kings Island experience and will continue to do so regardless of who owns the park. And I'm so relieved that an investment company didn't take over because it would have made nothing but budget cuts to maximize profit. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  6. It is a shame that Six Flags will probably sell SFMM. It has more coasters than any other park in the world - except for CP. But if it isn't profitable - c'est la vie. One would think with all of those coasters, more people would visit the park. Granted, I haven't seen any figures. For all I know, it can be very profitable. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  7. My bad. I still have a headache and am under the weather. Toddler Chef is feeling ill, too. Seems we may both be ill. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  8. Today I went to PKI with Mrs. Chef and Toddler Chef for a family visit. First we rode the Nickelodeon Carousel. Then came La Adventura de Azul followed by the pictures at the Nick Meet & Greet Area. We took pictures with SpongeBob SquarePants, Angelica Pickles, Susie Carmichael, and Sandy Beaver. After that we rode the Kings Island and Miami Valley Railroad. I wsa struck by a severe headache, so we bought Toddler Chef a Scooby Doo outfit in Emporium and then went home. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  9. It's NOT that scary at all. The loop is actually very fast and smooth. As a matter of fact - the loop is steel - not wood. Hence, it is very safe. Just enjoy the ride and relax. May the Force be with You, Italian Chef
  10. We all know that Cedar Fair will purchase Kings Island and her sister parks. In 4 years from now the Nickelodeon license expires. Will CF renew it or replace NU with Camp Snoopy? Who knows? What if you won the Power Ball and got to purchase Kings Island. Knowing that the Nickelodeon license expires in 4 years....what would YOU do and why????? Have a great day! Italian Chef
  11. Click on the link below. http://www.ohioslargestplayground.com/list...bend=S&notify=1 It lists all of the campgrounds in Warren County. I'd say the one in Lebanon is teh closest to PKI. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  12. I totally agree with you on this. I'd like LaRosa's to offer the same menu of pasta dishes that it does in its restaurants - not just pizza. And I'd like to to play Italian music. And I'd also like to see "international" restaurants - such as Chinese, Thai, Irish, German, etc. and imported souvenirs sold at International Street. Have a great day! Italian Chef

Does it really matter whether Kings Island serves Coke or Pepsi? Will anyone stop going if Kings Island switches brands? I don't think so. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  14. It is sad that I can no longer see Hanna-Barbara characters at International Street and elsewhere. Also, I don't dig how the Nickelodeon characters stay in one spot now - other than the parade, which rocks. There is something magical about seeing characters roam the park. I hope that CF will bring back the magic and have the characters roam the park. Blessed Day! Italian Chef
  15. The rides, characters, shows and atmosphere. But I admit - I liked the shows and characters A LOT more back in 2000-2002 when Hanna-Barbara characters roamed the parks and there were Scooby Doo & Country Music shows. From my perspective the park was BETTER then. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  16. For me it's Drop Zone. I only rode it once and was freaked out. The fall didn't scare me much - it was the eerie ride up. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  17. It makes perfect sense to keep the Nickelodeon theming for the next 4 years as Nickelodeon is way more popular than Peanuts. As far as the Paramount theming is concerned, with the exception of Star Trek: The Experience and the Borg Ride at Carowinds - I don't thnk that any Paramount-themed ride is worth the license anymore. People will enjoy TIJ, TG, Days of Thunder, CDBB, Drop Zone, and Face/Off regardless of the names - and none of those movies is all that hot anymore anyway. TR:TR might be an exception - but even that can be re-named and re-themed. That's just my opinion anyway. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  18. What does "Moskau" mean and what language is it? Thanks, Italian Chef
  19. I'm surprised that CF hasn't decided what to do with the Nickelodeon and Paramount licenses yet. Perhaps they'll conduct marketing surveys after the acquisition is complete and then decide. Have a great weekend! Italian Chef
  20. Here is a post that asks you to use your imagination. What if Cedar Fair hired you to help with the transition of Kings Island from PP to CF? You would be required to re-name all rides and shops with Paramount names - except for Nickelodeon because it is very popular with the children. What NEW names would you give to Paramount-themed ride and shop names?? Below I am listing what I would do. Have a great day! Italian Chef Old Name --- New Name INTERNATIONAL STREET Paramount Theater --- Studio 1 Paramount Story --- Toyota Japanese Garden Thrills are Paramount --- Yukari’s Souvenirs PARAMOUNT Action Zone --- Action Zone Congo Falls --- Amazon Falls Days of Thunder --- Soapbox Racer Drop Zone --- Skydiver FACE/OFF --- Boomerang Top Gun --- Air Force Academy OKTOBERFEST Bubba Gump Shrimp Shack --- Cajun Shrimp Shack Lt. Dan’s Bar --- Bayou Bar CONEY MALL The Italian Job --- L.A. Highway Italian Job Souvenirs --- Charles’ Souvenir Shop Happy Days Diner --- 50s Diner Flight of Fear --- Asteroid Field Paramount FX Theater --- FX Theater RIVERTOWN Wings Diner --- Nino’s Family Diner TR:TR --- Treasure Hunter CDBB --- BOOMERANG BAY Dundee’s Outback Shack --- Outback Shack Wally’s Walkabout Pub --- Walkabout Pub Mick’s Seaside Supplies --- Auzzie Seaside Supplies
  21. CF re-named all of the DC Comics (owned by Warner Brothers) and SF names of rides when it purchased SFWOA. Hence, it is logical it will do the same with all of PP. However, since it has the option of using the license for a number of years - when the changes will be made is questionable. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  22. I think it would be cool if an outdoor Japanese rock or American botanical garden was built in what is now the "Paramount Story". But I doubt that will happen. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  23. It almost looks real. Funny. No such change has been made and CF hasn't even finalized the deal yet. And in my guess, CF will keep the ride the way it is, but change the name to something like "LA Highway". Have a great day! Italian Chef
