Two friends and I took the day off from work to go to PKI. As we drove in to the entrance, there were two cars behind us. Then we saw - the park was closed. D'oh! I thought that PKI was open daily until Labor Day. So did my friends. Not much of a report. Have a great day! Italian Chef

There's nothing wrong with SDATHC - but it lacks the charm, originality, and Disney-like atmosphere of Phantom Theater. I think PKI should build a new, bigger, and better PHANTOM THEATER somewhere else in the park with the old - and some new characters, the old music, and the old charm. Have a great day! Italian Chef

Perhaps Great Wolf should purchase The Beach Water Park to get its water. The land can be re-developed as luxury homes for Homerama with Tiki decor. And the staff at The Beach can work for Great Wolf - they are a great staff. Just a silly thought. Have a great day! Italian Chef

Until today, I hadn't been to PKI in a whole month because of weather, work, and other obligations. Sadly, unbeknownst to me, it was bring a friend free day. The park was so jam packed that we had to park at CDBB. After that we rode the Kings Island and Miami Valley Railroad to Rivertown. It was a nice ride. Then we walked around and had lunch at Bubba Gump Shrimp Shack. After that I went to AE because the line is never longer than 10 minutes - and I waited 22 minutes to ride! I never waited so long. The park was way crowded. After I was done, I decided to skip rides for the rest of the day. My family walked around some more and then went home. Next week I'm taking off from work and will spent at least 2 days at PKI. Hopefully I'll be able to avoid crowds and enjoy rides. Have a great day! Italian Chef

Though The Beast is my favorite wooden coaster at PKI, I voted for "I don't care". I'd much rather ride FoF which is smoother and doesn't hurt. Have a great day! Italian Chef

I agree with you Coastergirl. My son is only 16 months old. Though I like Nickelodeon Central and Nickelodeon cartoons, my heart is with Hanna-Barbera cartoons and H-B Land. Though I've taken my son with me on the H-B Carousel, Atom Ant's Airways, SDATHC, and Quick Draw's Railway.....he'll have no recollection. The PKI he'll grow up with and remember will be devoid of an Hanna-Barbera Land. C'est la vie. Italian Chef

This is a hypothetical question. We all know that Hanna-Barbera Land will disappear at the end of the season and be replaced by an enlarged Nickelodeon Central. What if Paramounts Parks decided to return Kings Island to the way it was back in 1972 and got rid of Nickelodeon Central and enlarged Hanna-Barbera Land? Let's say Rugrats Runaway Reptar would be re-themed as The Powerpuff girls, Wild Thornberry's River Adventure would be re-themed as Scooby Doo and Zombie Island, and a Hanna-Barbera parade would replace the Nickelodeon parade. A German show would be cool at Oktoberfest. You can say that today's guests aren't interested in such a show.....but if that were true, Hoffbrahaus in Newport wouldn't do so well and there wouldn't be Oktobest festivals in Covington and Cincinnati every year. The Beast was my favorite coaster for a long time. But as I get older, I appreciate a smoother ride. Hence, my favorite coaster at PKI is now Flight of Fear. Have a great day! Italian Chef

Personally I like the Wild Thornberry's better because the theming gives it a Disney-like atmosphere. Rather than just riding a log flume, I enjoy the fantasy of living out a Wild Thornberry adventure. Have a great day! Italian Chef

Today I took Mrs. Chef and Baby Chef to PKI today for the purpose of seeing the Nickelodeon Parade. Before it began, Mrs. Chef and Baby Chef began suffereing from the great heat. They suffered enough that they needed cool water on their heads. Anyway, we saw the parade, which was VERY cool. I noticed several new characters and floats this year. After the parade we went to Emporium, where I purchased a new PKI shurt. Then Mrs. Chef and Baby Chef cooled off in Festhaus while I rode AE. Due to the heat, which my family couldn't handle, we went home after that. Perhaps I handled the heat better because I am 100% Sicilian, my ancestors are from a hot, hot island. Have a great day!
