  1. I haven't been to Coney Island in 2 years! I've been too busy and with a season pass to PKI, I have less incentive to visit old Coney. In my humble opinion. Coney Island is a cute little park with TONS of history. If PKI closed for a season, I'd visit Coney Island as much as I do PKI for the flat rides and atmosphere. If I can, I will take my family there this season. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  2. I was cleaning out bookshelves and found my copy of the PKI unofficial guide the other day... Are there any plans for an updated edition, or did sales warrant a revision? I bought the book at the park, but I also saw it later in the "Ohio interest" section at a B&N in Columbus. I also found a book on the Six Flags chain by Tim O'Brien published in 1996--talk about a book that needs a revision Joel At the present time, sales do not warrant a revision. If they ever do, I'll promote the new book as much as possible. I know Mr. O'Brien and had the pleasure of meeting him at PKI. He did revise his esteemed book back in 2003. Have a great weekend! 3. I saw and liked the show. It was better than last year's show. However, though it may seem like ancient history...I still think that Graveyard Shift was the best show ever at PKI. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  4. As author of The Unofficial Guidebook to Paramount's Kings Island and a freelancer who has written about the park - I'd be honored to help in any way. Have a great day! Charles Infosino aka Italian Chef
  5. This is the only PKI site (other than www.pki.com) that I visit. I think it rocks! May The Force Be With You, Italian Chef
  6. Happy Friday, Late this afternoon I hit PKI with my friend Ryan aka Boddah because I finished work early. We rode Zephyr, The Racer, The Backwards Racer, Viking Fury, Adventure Express, Italian Job, Congo Falls, Top Gun, and Son of Beast. Then we ate dinner at the Mexican restaurant. Then we rode The Eiffel Tower (sadly PKI Diana wasn't there )SDATHC, The Beast and then we called it an night. Happy Independence Day! Italian Chef
  7. When is the next bring a friend free day? If anyone knows, please tell me. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  8. I miss the James Bond FX film, too. It was the best they had - much better than DumbBob SquarePants. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  9. Why are you going to Japan? Did you know that I lived there for one year and my wife is Japanese? Plus I've written several articles on Japanese culture? Believe it or not no one I met in Japan knew who Scooby Doo was! But they knew Snoopy. Odd. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  10. Assuming that all of this is true, I should photograph all the H-B rides this year because next year the theming will be gone. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  11. If the weather is good, I'm headed to PKI this Friday. Sadly, my wife cannot join me. Does anyone else plan to be there? If so, maybe I can meet up with another PKICer. I doubt that I'd have all that much fun alone. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  12. I'll be sad to see H-B Land go. But life goes on. Have a great weekend! Italian Chef
  13. My vote also goes to the Happy Days Diner. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  14. Quite frankly, I am not looking forward to the 35th anniversary of PKI because it will also be my 35th birthday - and I don't like getting older. I miss being young and handsome.
  15. Today Mrs. Chef, Baby Chef, and I went to PKI to celebrate Father's Day one day early. The first thing we did when we arrived was go to Hanna-Barbera Land to feed and change Baby Chef. After that we went to the Hanna-Barbera Carousel. Then we met up with Ryan (Boddah) and Bill. I rode Adventure Express with them while Mrs. Chef watched Baby Chef. Thereafter we met up with my family and PKIDiana, who was as nice and beautiful as ever. She was going to watch Baby Chef while Mrs. Chef and I rode The Italian Job - but his separation anxiety prevented that from happening. Mrs. Chef and I then ate lunch at Festhause and then ran to see School of Rock. It was a good show, but nothing compared to Graveyard Shift. We then walked around and then saw Tuned-In, which I liked because of the 70s show tunes. After that we rode Atom Ant's Airways. It was Baby Chef's VERY FIRST TIME AND HE DIDN'T CRY! I was very proud of him. We than shopped and left the park. It may not sound like a thrilling day, but with a 14-month old, your options are limited. I enjoyed myself. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  16. Due to various obligations, I think that I'll only make it to PKi 10 times this year - and I've been there 4 already. Maybe 12. We'll see. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  17. I liked TIJ. The ride wasn't too intense, but the theming is AWESOME! Have a great day! Italian Chef
  18. Although I think that Velma is sexy because she is chubby and wears short skirts, my favorite character is Scooby Doo. After all, Scooby is the star of the show, always scared, and makes us laugh. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  19. You may be a PKI addict if... you have a section of your living room decorated by PKI souvenires, including an Eiffel Tower statue, a copy of The Unofficial Guidebook to Paramount's Kings Island, a picture of you and your spouse riding SDATHC, plastic figurines of Scooby Doo and The Mystery Machine, VHS tapes of shows featuring PKI, etc. May The Force Be With You, Italian Chef
  20. That is great - and I want to go. But my 76 year old father and his 72 year old girlfriend are flying in from Florida to visit me that weekend. They are not in shape, not do they desire to partake in such activities. I hope that I can attend the next event at PKI. My family and I went to weeks ago and I was planning to visit this Saturday. However, I was asked to act in a public access TV show this Saturday - and I need as much experience and publicity as possible. I hope that those of you who can make it have fun. You'll find me at PKI this Father's Day. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  21. Sorry, it wasn't me. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  22. Actually, I'd say most of us do like Diana. Had I known that she was there, I would've made it a point to visit The Eiffel Tower with my family. Diana is a very beautiful, wise and kind lady. And it is an honor that she partakes in posting on this fine web site. May The Force Be with you, Italian Chef
  23. Today Mrs. Chef, Baby Chef, and I went to PKI for a day of family fun. We walked around a lot - and Baby Chef and I rode the Hanna-Barbera Carousel while Mrs. Chef took pictures. Then I bought blueberry ice cream from Huckberry Dairy for Mrs. Chef and me. We then took the Kings Island and Miami Valley Railroad to CDBB. I rode Coolangatta Racer for the first time in my life! Now I can say that I've ridden EVERY ride at PKI except for the kiddie rides that I'm too tall for. After that I rode Sydney Sidewinder and Down Under Thunder. Then my whole family enjoyed Kookaburra Bay. While visiting CDBB I bought a CDBB short for my son, and Mrs. Chef bought a bathing suit for him in a different shop. I briefly saw Jeff Siebert and even Craig Ross, who actually remembers my name because of that little book I wrote. And I saw George AKA DragonLord who spoke about school and he had many laudatory comments about PKI Diana. It would seem that he holds her in the highest esteem. After that, we shopped at Emporium - and spent more money, and walked around some more. I tried to ride AE but it was down. And then I tried The Racer, but it was too crowded. So, we called it a day and left. My family and I greatly enjoyed PKI and will return soon. May The Force Be with You, Italian Chef
  24. Looks great. I was supposed to be there, but Baby Chef got sick and I had to take care of him. Family always comes first. May The Force be with You, Italian Chef
  25. You mean the ACErs? Next time I need to get to the park earlier.
