  1. Themed costumes would be cool and give the park a Disney-like atmosphere. However, the sad reality is that they are too expensive and too many teens (the bulk of PKI's seasonal workforce) would be reluctant to wear them. Have a great off season! Italian Chef
  2. From what I gathered, nothing has been announced or leaked. Sorry. Have a great off seaon! Italina Chef
  3. As much as I love Scooby Doo, the Phantom Theater was something truly unique. No other park in the world had a Phantom Theater. The cast was original, even though the music seemed to borrow heavily from Bettlejuice and Tales from the Crypt. It really is a pity that PT is gone. Have a great off season! Italian Chef
  4. That's a hard question. For me it's a toss up between Magic Kingdom and Disney Studios. Have a great off season! Italian Chef
  5. The Earth is more than 4 billion years old. Will Scooby's Ghoaster Coaster be around in another 4 billion years? Will we? Will PKI? Nothing is permanent if you think about. So let's enjoy the goodness of life and the greatness of PKI while we can. What's the difference if the ride is called Scooby of Fairly odd parents? Did not Shakespear say "if a rose was called by any other name, would it not smell the same?" No one misses Phantom Theater and H-B characters more than me...but life goes on. Let's enjoy life and PKI as much as we can. yours truly, Italian Chef
  6. As much as I love Hanna-Barbera and prefer it over Nickelodeon, I am honestly surprised that PKI has not already started converting land and rides from Hanna-Barbera Land to Nickelodeon Central. Have a great off season! Italian Chef
  7. With all due respect, on this site PKI will unquestionably come out on top. VIVA PKI! Reverend Italian Chef
  8. That's a no brainer - WinterFest...maybe. FUN BY DAY FearFest is more childish than WinterFest. But Fright by Night FearFest is NOT NOT NOT for families with small children. Have a great off season! Italian Chef
  9. I am an ardent admirer of Hanna-Barbera cartoons and was very sad to see PKI pull the characters (sans Scooby Doo) from walking around the park. However, let's face reality: 1. Paramount's Parks license for Hanna-Barbera (sans Scooby Doo) expires in approximately 2 years. They ought to start making changes now and not wait to alter everything until the last minute. 2. Both Paramount's Parks and Nickelodeon are owned by Viacom and Hanna-Barbera is owned by Warner Brothers. Paramount's Parks would rather use their own characters for free than pay a competitor for its characters. 3. Most of today's youth are very familiar with Nickelodeon but don't know much about Hanna-Barbera except for Scooby Doo. Sure there are exceptions thanks to Boomerang and Hanna-Barbera loving parents like me who show videos to their children. But most kids today prefer Nickelodeon. Hence, knowing the inevitable, I think from a business sense all Paramount's Parks, including PKI, should start re-naming and re-theming their Hanna Barbera rides as Nickelodeon rather than change everything at the last minute. Just my opinion anyway. It would be nice if they would give the Hanna-Barbera character costumes and ride props to fans like me since they won't be able to use them anymore. But that is wishful thinking, not realistic. Have a great off season! Italian Chef
  10. I think she was sexy. She looks like one my ex-girlfriends and I'd be happy to take either one out to dinner. Have a great off season! Italian Chef
  11. Last year I heard the same rumor that SFKK was going to buy Phantom Theater. Unfortunately, I have found no concrete evidence to back it up. Have a great off season! Italian Chef
  12. Okay, how about a member of the week if not the month. The lucky person should have a minimum numbers of posts. Just my opinion anyway. Have a great off season! Italian Chef
  13. I vote for Disney. My wife and I LOVE Disney. We visited Tokyo Disney and California's Disneyland & California Adventure together. And we took our honeymoon at Disney World in Orlando. Can you imagine how awesome Kings Island would be under Disney ownership? We'd have a huge castle built in the middle of the park. Nickelodeon Central and Hanna-Barbera Land would be transformed into Toon Town. FoF would be transformed into Space Mountain. SOB or Adventure Express would be transformed into Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. International Street would become a mini-Epcot. It would truly rock. I would never need to go to Orlando, Florida again! Have a great off season. Italian Chef
  14. As far as I'm concerned, Phantom Theater was much more like Disney than SCATHC. I like both, but Phantom Theater had class. The jeering Maestro was a great introduction. The music was cool. I really wish they would revive it in Coney Mall as a newer and scarier ride. Have a great off season! Italian Chef
  15. As much of a Scooby Doo fan as I am and as much as I like SDATHC, I still miss the Phantom Theater very much. I miss the music, the characters, the special effects, the short lines, the story and the overall theming. Does anyone else feel this way or is it out of sight, out of mind for everyone else? Have a great day! Italian Chef
  16. Since I never ate there, I wish they would re-open. However, from what I gather, it won't happen. Have a great off season! Italian Chef
  17. Good catch! I just took the survey. Have a great off season! Italian Chef

Since I have a season pass, I am definitely looking forward to visiting: Paramount's Kings Island. And I might visit the following: Coney Island The Beach Water Park Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom That's all unless anything unexpected happens in the year. Have a great off season! Italina Chef
  19. It is increasing looking like The Great Wolf Lodge will be a reality and the campgrounds are gone. How, if at all, will this influence how often you visit PKI and where you sleep when you do? Have a great off season! Italian Chef
  20. I visited the Campground and walked around it.....but never actually stayed there. Quite frankly Mrs. Chef and I are city slickers whose idea of camping is spending the night at Travelodge. The closest I ever got to camping was sleeping on my living room floor when I was too drunk to go to bed after a party. Sorry. Nevertheless, I have great respect for camping and campers, even though I am not into camping, All I can say to the folks who are sad about losing the Kings Island Campground is I feel your pain. To this day, I still miss my beloved Phantom Theater. Have a great off season! Italian Chef
  21. It is a pity that the closing of the campgrounds and the proposed building of the Great Wolf Lodge is causing some of us to get mad at each other. There is stilll the possibility that PKI will build a new campground, so I hope that we can all remain optimistic until we know. Either which way, I hope that we can all get along. Have a great off season! Italian Chef
  22. I wonder how expensive rooms will be at the resort. I'm sure it'll be cheaper in the winter when PKI is closed. We'll have to wait and see. Have a great off season! Italian Chef
  23. What do you think the Paramount Theater should feature each year? If you don't like my choices, you can choose other and type it. Have a great off season! Italian Chef
  24. Yes you are correct. April will come soon enough. Have a great off season! Italian Chef
  25. Don't count on King Kobra coming back for the obvious reasons. And it really wasn't all that good anyway. What would I like? How about a Japanese themed steel coaster named.....GODZILLA? That would rock. Have a great off season! Samurai Italian Chef
