  1. Happy Thanksgiving Everyone, A very interesting article about WinterFest is in this week's CityBeat. Read all about it! http://www.citybeat.com/2005-11-23/events.shtml Happy Thanksgiving, Italian Chef
  2. Last night I was suppsed to go to WinterFest preview with my wife and my friend Flo was to watch my son. Mrs. Chef didn't feel well so she stayed home with Toddler Chef and Flo went with me to WinterFest. Traffic was backed up due to an accident, so we got there late. We did ride Scooby Doo and the Christmas Caper, saw the parade, saw the holiday show at the Paramount Theater, and ate the delicious Christmas food. While there we ran into Boddah (Ryan) and chatted for a while. It was an awesome time. I highly recommend WinterFest. Happy Thanksgiving, Italian Chef
  3. Holy Moly! I am very surprised that Jeff and his family will relocate to Texas. It is a big change. Of course I wish them the very best. Were it not for Jeff Siebert, there might never have been The Unofficial Guidebook to Paramount's Kings Island. He helped me put it together. And that book launched my freelance writing career. I am indebted to Jeff and will miss him at PKI. Fortunately, Maureen will remain and she has been a great asset to the park and me as a writer. Happy Thanksgiving, Italian Chef aka Charles Infosino
  4. I wrote a soon to be published article about WinterFest. You bet Mrs. Chef and I are going! Have a great day! Italian Chef
  5. What is the name of Paul Hogan's stunt double who made the appreance at PKI for CDBB's media day? I cannot recall. Thanks, Italian Chef
  6. Is anyone going to PKI this Saturday? I was thinking about it, but don't know anyone else going. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  7. Now that my son is 18-months old, walks, and wears 4T clothes (because he is so tall!!!), I now call him Toddler Chef. Why is my son so tall and me so short I am often asked? Genetics. My wife's family is small and my mother's is, too. However, every male in my father's family under the age of 50 is 6-feet tall or more...except for me. In other words, the short Italian Chef carries tall genes and my son lucked out and got them. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  8. Today Mrs. Chef, Toddler Chef, and I went to PKI for a fun family day and to say good-bye to Hanna-Barbera Land. First we rode Yogi's Sky Tours. Next Toddler Chef and I rode Huck's Hot Rod's while Mrs. Chef recorded it to video. After that, my son wanted to ride again, so he did, this time with my wife. Then we rode the Hanna-Barbera Carousel. Next came lunch, burgers and fries, at Festhaus. I finished eating first, so I took a solo ride on The Racer. Then we all rode the Kings Island & Miami Valley Railroad to the Pumpkin Patch. Toddler Chef had fun running around dressed as a pirate. After that my son went trick-or-treating at PKI. Toddler Chef fell asleep and I took pictures of H-B Land for posterity. Then we went home. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  9. We all know that Hanna-Barbera Land will cease to exist. Many of the rides, such as TCTJ and FBB, will be re-themed. Others will be removed from the park. What do you think PKI should do with those obsolete rides? Have a great day! Italian Chef
  10. I know that the H-B Carousel and TCTJ will be re-themed. Does anyone else know which other H-B rides will be renovated and which ones will be removed? Have a great weekend! Italian Chef
  11. It's now official news that Nickelodeon Central will replace Hanna-Barbera Land. My question is does anyone have any idea which Hanna-Barbera rides are being re-themed and which ones are being demolished? If anyone knows anything, I'd really appreciate reading or hearing it. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  12. Today Mrs. Chef, Baby Chef, and I went to PKI to enjoy Hanna-Barbera and Nickelodeon. Unfortunately, the cold weather and the long lines worked against us. We did enjoy SDATHC, Yogi's Sky Tours, the H-B, Carousel, lunch at Wings, and Nickelodeon Corn Maze. After that, it was too cold so we left. Have a great weekend! Italian Chef
  13. Tonight I went to PKI after work with one of my friends. First we hit FoF and rode it twice since there was practically no line. It was awesome. Since I am becoming less fond of shaky coasters, FoF has now surpassed The Beast as my favorite coaster. Next came Zephyr and The Racer. Then we went to Circus of Horrors and ate dinner in Festhaus - pizza and beer. Next we headed to R.L. Stine Fear Street, which was fun and spooky. Next we went to the Action/FX Theater and enjoyed Funhouse Express. It wasn't as good as Superstition because I like sexy Elvira. We then rode Headless Hollow and walked to The Curse of Sleepy Hollow and then Cornstalkers and finished our Sleepy Hollow tour with Massacre Manor. All haunted attractions were fun. Next we rode AE and the Monster. By that time, we were tired and called it a night. Hence, I am now home typing this and planning my next trip to PKI, which is scheduled for tomorrow with my family. Have a great weekend! Italian Chef
  14. Yes, I Reverend Charles did bless the park. And my son's name is Nino. Since my parents and I are ministers in the Universal Life Church, odds are my son will one day be a reverend, too. Have a blessed weekend! Italian Chef
  15. Late last Saturday afternoon Mrs. Chef, Toddler Chef, and I went to PKI. We met our friends Kim and Ken there. I introduced this couple to each other at PKI over 2 years ago. They started dating, got engaged at the park - and got married last year. First all 5 of us visited Hanna-Barbera land and Nickeloden Central. Then we rode the Kings Island Miami Valley Railroad to the Pumpkin Patch. Toddler Chef (who is now 1.5 years - hence no longer Baby Chef) ran around in the hay and played with the pumpkins. I was so proud of him. Then we walked around some more and renewed our season passes together as a group. Then Mrs. & Toddler Chef went home. Thereafter Kim, Ken, & I rode The Beast, Adventure Express, experienced the CornStalkers Maze, ate dinner at Skyline Chili, rode Elvira's SuperStition - and then went home. It was a great time. I truly love PKI. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  16. Mrs. Chef and me hired a baby sitter and went to Media Night for FearFest last night. We enjoyed the scenery, sounds, and treats for the media in Happy Days Diner. And we experienced The Curse of Sleepy Hollow, CornSTALKERS, Headless Hollow, R.L. Stine Fear Street, and Massacre Manor. We also went to Elvira's Superstition but it was closed. Have a great weekend! Italian Chef
  17. I'd be inclined to say Disney World, but it would be too much responsibility and I couldn't have fun. Hence, my next choice would be Busch Gardens in Tampa Florida because it is near Orlando, has animals, has rides, and is very cool. And my other choice would be PKI because it rocks. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  18. As a Hanna-Barbera fan I am not happy to see H-B Land go. But as a father, I know that my son will just LOVE Nickelodeon Universe - especially now that he started walking. So I am happy for him and will enjoy the new area with him. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  19. This year...only PKI. All years together would include: The Beach Water Park Coney Island Park Gun Town Mountain Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom Six Flags Great Adventure (New Jersey) Magic Kingdom Epcot Disney Studios Animal Kingdom Disneyland California Adventure Universal Studios Hollywood Tokyo Disneyland (Japan) Monkey Park (Japan) Little World (Japan) Higashima Koen (Japan) Ise Sengoku Ninja Mura (Japan) Chita Beach Land (Japan) Lotte World (South Korea) Have a great day! Italian Chef
  20. What is South Pie?
  21. I read on this site that H-B Land will disappear after today. Is that true? I thought that the Nickelodeon expansion wouldn't take place until after the season end?
  22. Today I went to PKI with Mrs. Chef and Baby Chef - and they were open this time. The purpose of the visit was to hang out at CDBB and introduce Baby Chef to his first water slide. We hung out at Kangaroo Lagoon, which has a pirate ship, for Baby Chef. Mrs. Chef and I took turns walking with Baby Chef in the shallow water as he laughed and splashed water. And I placed him at the water slide. A life gaurd helped him down and I caught him. Baby Chef is only 17 months old, but he did his VERY first water slide today. I am very proud of him. We had lunch from Dundee's Outback Shack and after 3 hours, we went home because Mrs. Chef was tired. I had a great time and was proud of Baby Chef. Next time I hope to go with friends and enjoy big coasters. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  23. I went to see a movie with Kim and Ken - then we had dinner with my wife and son. INTERESTING PKI FACT: 1. Kim was my co-worker in Japan. 2. Ken is my co-worker in the USA. 3. I introduced them to each other at PKI. 4. They got engaged at PKI. 5. Ken and I are both ministers in the same Church as a certain PKI marketing lady. 6. I made a great speech at Kim & Ken's wedding and mentioned PKI. Have a blessed day! Rev. Italian Chef PS - I am looking to carpool to PKI on Monday to save money for all of us.
  24. Baby Chef was in daycare and Mrs. Chef was at work. I went with my friends so that I could do a day of big coasters - I can't do that with Baby Chef. Maybe I'll head to the park on Labor Day if I find a friend to join me. Have a great day! Italian Chef
