  1. Today at Coney Mall I saw a metal skelaton for a globe-like structure at what used to be Euro-Bungee. Does anyone know what it is? May the Force be with you! Italian Chef
  2. I had to wait on line for 10-15 minutes to get a ticket to come back to wait another 10 minutes to ride TIJ. May The Force Be With You, Italian Chef
  3. I met and got photographed with Amy Allen, who plays a blue skinned Jedi knight. More importantly, I recently met Mary Oyaya who plays Luminara Unduli and interviewed her for a magazine article. Additionally, I wrote an edittorial: http://www.challengernky.com/articles/2005...52821246013.txt May The Force Be with You! Italian Chef
  4. Today I went to PKI alone, hoping to meet up with ACErs since I've been a member for nearly 2 years and never hung out with them. However, by the time I got there at 9:45, none of them were there. Hence, alone I rode FoF, TIJ, and The Beast. Since I felt lonely and physically didn't feel too well, I went home after that. PKI is an awesome place, but it's much better with company than alone. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  5. The Racer being removed from PKI says you? All I can sau is that it is quite possible, but most improbable. May the Force be with you, always. Italian Chef
  6. I hope that the rates are cheaper in the winter. That's the only time I'd rent a room since I live 45 minutes away. Italian Chef
  7. I hope that they'll give discounts to journalists. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  8. With the coming demise of H-B Land, my money is on a Nickelodeon expansion as the next big themed ride(s). We'll wait and see. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  9. Were I not such a pragmatist, I would speculate upon the alterations of Kings Island Theme Park under Six Flags' ownership. Sadly for me, I am a realist who knows all too well that Six Flags cannot financially afford to purchase our beloved Kings Island because of poor management. The recent trend at Six Flags has been to sell assets to enhance cash flow, not invest in new assets for long term investment. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  10. Both. Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), David Prowse (Darth Vader), Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian) and about 18 other actors showed up to give autpgraphs. Did you read my post about my article previewing the convention? I interviewed Peter Mayhew for it. And there were hundreds - perhaps over 1,000 fans dressed up in costumes. Quite frankly the fans in costume were more interesting than the actors in every day garb. My favorite costume was the Princess Leia slave girl outfit from ROTJ. I got photographed with 3 ladies wearing that skimpy outfit. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  11. I liked Indy a lot. They have a small Downtown which looks a lot like Newport on the Levee. They've got Jillian's, Claudaughs, and a bunch of restaurants and music venues. When Baby Chef is a little older, we plan a family vacation in Indianapolis. It's got a great zoo and lots of awesome museums. May the Force be with you! Italian Chef
  12. On Saturday Mrs. Chef, Baby Chef, and I drove to Indianapolis to attend the Star Wars Celebration III Convention. We visited both Saturday and Sunday. It was an awesome experience. The highlights include: 1. We got photographed with and autographs from Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), whom I interviewed for an article. 2. I got photographed with and autograph from Amy Allen (Aayla Secura in Episodes 2 & 3). 3. I bought toys and t-shirts. 4. We got photographed with lots of fans interesting costumes including Darth Vader, Boba Fett, and best of all - the Princess Leia slave girl from ROTJ. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  13. Hey Dane, when will you re-post my Phantom Theater story in Chef's Ristorante? I wrote a dramatic story about the Phantom Theater - it was a love triangle and tragedy. There was far more depth to Phantom Theater than met the eye. The Maestro was a mad genius, Helga was a voluptuous lady with low self-esteem and couldn't commit to one man, and the great Houdelini was a charlatan. The other characters had their charm, too. That's how I interpreted the characters anyway. In someway, Phantom Theater was like Phantom of the Opera. The Maestro was the Phantom, Helga was Christine and Houdelini was Raoul. That's my interpretation anyway. To this day, I still miss the ride, its characters, its music, and its charm. Have a musical day! Italian Chef
  14. Where was this from? What does it mean? Rev. Chef
  15. Last season I noticed that PKIC invested much of its resources trying to assist The Chippery at PKI. However, this season, The Chippery is gone. What happened? Were sales too low? Have a great day! Italian Chef
  16. This week's CityBeat newspaper has an article about what's new at PKI for 2005. Guess who wrote it? http://www.citybeat.com/current/events.shtml Have a great day! Italian Chef
  17. Fox News just showed PKI and Mrs. Chef and I were seen pushing Baby Chef's stroller into Happy Days diner - but a side profile. You had to look carefully. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  18. I don't know why my last post disappeared as it contained nothing bad, but I'll try again. Today Mrs. Chef, Baby Chef, and I went to PKI for media day. Since I'm working on a freelance article about the park, we all got to wear IDs - even Baby Chef. We ate at Happy Days Diner and were greatly impressed with the quality of the burgers. We saw Ms. Ross (Mrs. C) but didn't get to meet her. Baby Chef and I rode the Hanna-Barbera carousel for the very first time! I was very proud of him. And the 3 of us rode SDATHC - and Mrs. Chef scored over 1000 points! Plus we bought Baby Chef some clothes and ate Graeter's ice cream. It was a short, but pleasant day at the park. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  19. Delirium - most certainly. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  20. Considering the scarcity of indoor rides at PKI and the harsh weather that the park experiences in the cold months, I am obliged to say "no". However, should PKI convert many of its outdoor rides into indoor ones and build new rides as indoor - it would be financially more feasible. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  21. Forgive my ignorance, but what is Troika? Have a great day! Italian Chef
  22. italianchef replied to jlopez's topic in KI Polls
I voted for behind SOB because that's where it's most likely to be. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  23. Since 2003, the only Hanna-Barbera Land character roaming the park is Scooby Doo. No more Flintstones, Jetsons, Captain Caveman, Quickdraw McGraw, etc. which makes me sad. I am a member of the Hanna-Barbera generation. Magilla Gorilla Grill will become a Chick-a-Filet soon - and I know that H-B Land will cease to exist around 2008. However, I felt a great sadness today when I went to PKI and saw that the only Hanna-Barbera merchandise now sold are Scooby Doo items. No more Flintstones stuffed animals, Hanna-Barbera Land t-shirts, etc. Twilight is upon Hanna-Barbera Land. The characters and now even the merchandise are gone - sans Scooby Doo. This is a sign of the times. My generation has grown up and the new generation is the Nickeloeon generation. As far as I'm concerned, the old Hanna-Barbera toons beat Nickelodeon any day. However, my son will grow up with Nickelodeon. His only exposure to Hanna-Barbera will by Scooby Doo and my old tapes. Let's hope he likes Dad's taste. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  24. Today I decided to drive by myself to PKI for some R & R. I rode FoF first - and noticed there are more sound and lighting effects than before, Next came SpongeBob 3D at the FX Theater. It was fun, I've done it before of course. Then I rode The Racer - which was smooth and enjoyable. I thought about The Brady Bunch riding it going up my first hill. My last ride was AE, which is always a blast. Then I went to animation station and bought two Scooby Doo outfits for Baby Chef. Being alone, I decided to return home because I had no one to chat with. PKI is more fun with company. I am really glad that the park has re-opened. Entering the gate was like returning home. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  25. I believe that Paramount Story should stay. Not all of PKI's guests are coaster freaks like you and me. Some of them are eldery and wish to enjoy the peaceful scenery of The Paramount Story, the shows, and tame attractions like The Kings Island & Miami Valley Railroad. In conclusion - keep The Paramount Story. We need some nature and relaxing scenery in the park. Sincerely, Italian Chef PS - Today is baby chef's 1st birthday!!!!
