  1. I like how the poll on WLWT has Sky Ride listed, in most likely scenario they mean a tall thrill ride. However maybe the Skyride is coming back, but taller to keep on the tradition of bringing nostalgia back.
  2. Re-entry is allowed at every gate, you can even exit one gate and re-enter at another without a problem as long as you have a "hand" stamp.
  3. I'm sorry, but Sheetz rules. I often order up some subs on the way to the point for my lunch and dinner. I must say Sheetz is superior over WaWa, however I have spend much time in western PA and not in eastern PA where WaWa operates. On a side note, if want to see the ultimate sheetz, go to the 17th st. location in Altoona, it is unbelievable.
  4. Nor is the McDonalds at Rye Beach any better, thus is why I stop at Amherst on my way home from the point to grab a bite.
  5. They let him ride without a partner? That it self would be interesting to see.
  6. That is standard operation, after park close you will get to ride (except for weather or serious mechanical issues) however you are NOT guaranteed your selection of seat. Ride ops would like to go home as quickly as possible and not send out extra trains.
  7. Who said we are all so certain of that? Certainly not the Terp, nor did he say he was not...anyone for a coaster in China? Is that a hint Terpy? Buffalo would be in either market, as would Windsor and other parts of southern Ontario. From an email from CP Take my breath away, reminds me of a certain ride at KI, and this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEOem7U2LPE
  8. RWB will never run again, it has been striped of all metal (rails, chain, motors, brakes, etc.) and the turn out of the station has been removed. Dipper hopeful will run again, but with what cars or brakes?
  9. http://www.facebook.com/cedarpoint?v=wall Announcement, Tuesday the 24th. On the same day as Canada's Wonderland?
  10. It is not, Jack Rabbit is all about the double dip element giving insane amount of airtime. Also, Jack Rabbit does not have a moveable lap bar, talk about an intresting experience.
  11. http://www.suntimes.com/lifestyles/2597582,TRA-News-ohio15.article Two excerpts; Steam? when was the last time an amusement ride ran on steam? Also, the launch is 3.8 seconds not one second, it would be a heck of a launch if it was one second long. Actually the seat got smaller 15 years ago, when they "modernized" her.

  13. You are reading to much into the logo. It is the exact same logo used around the centennial era, complete with sixteen "rays".
  14. Premier Parks bought Funtime Inc. in 1995, which included Geauga Lake. Premier then acquired Kentucky Kingdom in 1997 before buying Six Flags in 1998. Six Flags did not buy either park and GL was acquired before Kentucky Kingdom. The questions are what would have happened if Premier didn't buy Six Flags? If FUN didn't buy GL? or even KI? what would be the fate of all three parks then? Even Wyandot Lake, as it was part of Funtime Inc/Premier/Six Flags.
  15. Oh the lawsuits that would follow said decision, plus all of the negative PR that would happen.
  16. Here is the big conundrum, what is Phantoms Revenge at Kennywood, as it is only 160 ft tall yet has a 230 ft drop?
  17. It wouldn't surprise me that the other ex-PP get starlight experiences next year.
  18. That logo was used in variants through the 1960's, it's main claim to fame was the years around CP's centennial celebration in 1970. In the 70's the 1870 was replaced by the Giant wheel logo.
  19. The latest CP Funtimes has this little tidbit
  20. I want to see a tougher challenge, riding a stand up coaster in the nude.
  21. I was at the park today and got a cookie! A fair size was it and amazingly fresh. They had so many, they started to hand them out to the kids at heart, thus is how I got one. Cookies were basic Chocolate Chip with no frosting.
  22. Playland is such a classic park with classic rides that one cant find much anymore. The dark rides, Old Mill, Dragon Coaster, and Derby Racer which is better then Cedar Downs IMO. Losing Playland would be a tragedy in the amusement world.
