  1. http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2010/06/cedar_fair_chief_operating_off.html Article from The Plain Dealer.
  2. I was either 6 or 7 when I rode Geauga Lake's Double Loop for the first time. During the Funtime era, the height restriction for DL and Corkscrew (my second coaster) was 42 inches.
  3. http://www.cleveland.com/goingout/index.ssf/2010/06/memphis_kiddie_park_has_a_long.html A very nice article about Memphis Kiddie Park in Cleveland. It mentions any ticket ever purchased there is still good, regardless if you only bought it for 15 cents.
  4. To be on the safe side, enter at main or resort/Soak City as they have GR centers, marina gate does not.
  5. Dominator is one of my favorite coasters, though it was better over water. Rebel Yell is similar to Racer and Shockwave brings back memories of King Cobra. Ricochet is a fun wild mouse, Avalanche is a cool little coaster, and there Ghoster Coaster is okay. The most important flat to ride is the Eagles, then try to smuggle them to KI (even though Carowinds have ours). If your interested, watch the movie Rollercoaster and see how the park used to be, with most of the rides in the movie since removed.
  6. I rode Iron Wolf last week, thus I can confirm it's operation.
  7. Those four are the tallest Coasters at Cedar Point, that's why they are the "challenge". The show gave me a headache from the editing, none of the midways were correct in his path and Millennium Force's course was not shown in order.
  8. What is confusing about flying Dispatch Master Transport through space with your robot controller trying to avoid space pirates and your robot desperately trying to regain control to crash land you in Alaska? The sad part is that I'm not making it up.
  9. Don't forget, ALL resort guest get in at 9 as well, including the campground and Breakers Express. There are lots of resort guest and it can feel like the GP are in. As a reminder, Dragster and Magnum do not open until 10am and do not begin testing usually until 9:30.
  10. It hasn't been completely torn down as mentioned in the article, the economy has slowed the redevelopment.
  11. Gemini's near by cousin CCMR also has a history of not making back around during testing. It also relies on sandbags for testing weight, along with no back car riding in the morning.
  12. [quote name='Dbfan' date='08 June 2010 - 03:09 PM' timestamp='1276024158' post='382892' When did they change disaster Transport's queue? I went last summer, and I barely saw 1/4 that queue in the video. 2008 was the last year for that version of the queue. Before Halloweekends started, the queue was even longer.
  13. If you want to race on Gemini, ride it between 12-8. When they run both sides, it actually races unlike a certain aptly named coaster.
  14. Angie, you should know that row 8 has they crazy forces, as row nine is non existent.
  15. IMO, from front of the park to the back. Raptor: front or back row Blue Streak: 4-3, 1-3, 4-2 DISpatch mASTER TRANSPORT: ride space spiral insted Wicked Twister: Row 15 exit side Wildcat: 1-1 or 1-2 Iron Dragon: Front or Back car Mantis: Front row Millennium Force: not a bad seat on that thing, I prefer near the back. Corkscrew: 1-1, 1-2, 6-1, 6-2 Top Thrill Dragster: 1-1, 2-1, 2-2 (there is only one row in the first car) Magnum: 1-3, 6-1, 6-2, 6-3 Woodstock Express: Back Car Gemini: Anywhere Cedar Creek Mine Ride: Anywhere (if you have long legs, sit in the first row of any car). Maverick: Front Row Mean Streak: Front row only, if you ride anywhere else you will not have a spine afterwords. Maxair: Front row Flats not to miss Skyhawk, Calypso, Chaos(if open), Cedar Downs, Power Tower (both ways), Witches Wheel, CP&LERR, and if you dare tame the most terrifying ride in the park, Sky Ride!
  16. Or maybe it will just stop working, like every other CF effect.
  17. Thus making it a horrible replacement of White Water Landing, which it supposedly was. I guess people wouldn't spend 5 dollars if the weren't drenched to the bone now would they.
  18. Most Likely you saw a freighter, not to many steamship are to be found on Lake Erie or in the Sandusky Bay 1.3 owns 1.2 in air time, it is the only way to ride up front Although a top notch railroad, and my preferred mode of transport to and from Frontier Town, there are better amusement railways. Most notably, Dollywood Express also the Tweetsie Railroad (Name of road and park) come to mind. Both of those destroy CP&LE's scenery. The train however is the only ride to have it's own website http://www.cplerr.com/. What CP has done with that thing is just awful. The band organ is destroyed, the mechanics and floor were changed in the 1994 move which give it that horrendous groaning sound. At least they gave the horses fresh paint this year, but the new rounding board scheme is terrible. They best thing about the carousel, is that it still operates. Don't forget about the Kiddie Kingdom carousel, which is a Dentzel menagerie that operates nicely but for some reason has carpet on it. I might as well go for the Superfecta, Cedar Downs has been slowed down to much and the new music is awful; the Frontier Town carousel is all but one horse in Allentown. I also got a trimless ride earlier this year, with out that trim the first two inversion are highly forcefull. I even blacked out for second, however after that it is a headbanging paloza.
  19. Four different occasions to be exact, Gemini in 1978, Magnum in 1989, Millennium Force in 2000 and Top Thrill Dragster in 2003. They also claimed Blue Streak was the Tallest in the world, but that was just a gimmick I believe. Finally, Mean Steak, Raptor and Mantis were the tallest and fastest of there type when first built.
  20. ^Top Thrill Dumpster, reliably down since 2003 . That thing goes down often enough (less now than before) it's almost impossible to keep track of why for each one (unless you read the DOR(if you did read the DOR, you wouldn't be allowed to post such info here)). Just be glad it works on a daily basis, and you got to ride it.
  21. The Wildcat should be ridden by all, it shows what a brilliant mind Schwarzkopf (Sp?) was. No blue Streak? That ride is more comparable to Racer than Gemini is.
  22. ^As a reminder, it is against park policy to use any electronic device or photography equipment on any ride at KI, especially while the ride is in motion. The two exceptions are Eiffel Tower and the KI&MV RR. http://www.visitkingsisland.com/_upload/pdf/2010/2010%20Rider%20Safety%20Guide.pdf scroll down to page 5.
