  1. Some of disagree, when there are already two soakers in the park, we wanted a sprinkler to replace the defunct White Water Landing. We ended up with another Snake River Falls, not all of us want to get drenched.
  2. http://www.facebook.com/dorneypark#!/dorneypark?v=wall and a response of Is every coaster "sinking". sigh.
  3. HW and SS are set up like KI and Boomerang Bay, it's all one park but separated into different sections.
  4. The Truth may be in hanger 18, but according to the government "It's a publicity stunt by a local amusement park for a new attraction".
  5. Huss rides, making many fine flat rides. http://www.hussrides.com/ They have been doing this for a long time, older Huss rides still say West Germany on them.
  6. http://www.cleveland.com/newsflash/index.ssf?/base/national-132/1277990816301110.xml&storylist=cleveland Unfortunately, PTC 19 will not return to it's former site, rather it will be in University Circle.
  7. ^Hopefully they went to the Town Hall Museum, where they have Gemini's 30th anniversary banners, Mean Streak's promo model with the words coming in 1991 and a Blue Streak model which may or may not say built in 1964. Or they could watch the movie which would answer those questions.
  8. The problem with trying to get a closer hotel is Sandusky Bay. You have 2.5 miles of causeway (or 4 of chausse) just to get to the mainland, then most hotels are located down on 250 which is another mile and half. Thus leaving you at least a ten minute drive to get to a hotel (unless you stay on US 6, which is about seven minutes).
  9. Blasphemy! The front is something to behold, however I recommend doing the front in the day, as for at night you become the human windshield. CF has lost all of there blue paint, only available colors are red and yellow. They could make Blue Streak it's original natural brown color. You should have seen it before Maxair was put in, the whole games building was covered in neon lights. Oh how I miss them. Edit: Advance to 2:20. Triple actually, there is a bit of Millie there. Nice trip report, if you spend sometime in Sandusky again I suggest visiting the Merry-go-Round Museum in downtown.
  10. ^I will make you ride Mean Streak (evil laugh), I dont see how people find unbearable, I average about 3 rides on it per visit.
  11. Is it even possible to compete with Busch Gardens The Old Country/Virginia/Europe/Williamsburg or what ever they want to call it this year, especially with the CF train of thought?
  12. Canada's Wonderland has some nice rides, I love their three wooden coasters of which I believe the big two are based off of the coaster at Coney Island. Also Dragon Fyre is unique as it's corkscrews go counter clockwise. The parks collection of flats is excellent and it's I-Street is the best. Don't miss Thunder Run located in wonder mountain. Finally, I agree with Terpy on Time Warp, that it and it's cousin in Rye and find them painful and horrendous.
  13. If the lines for water rides are too long, and Soak City is too crowded, I simply exit by Ocean Motion/Wicked Twister and jump in the lake (no, it's not the cleanest of water, but neither are the puke-filled water rides or the pee-filled swimming pools!). Be sure to enter the lake where swimming is allowed, or the lifeguard may come up and yell at you. Even if only your feet touch the edge of the water. Lake Erie water is the same as Thunder Canyon, whose water is pumped straight from the bay (visible on perimeter road).
  14. http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=21891 That poll topic may help.
  15. Please tell me your joking, that ride is a waste of time and space.
  16. Correct, also returning this season are test seats on Raptor, Maxair, Wicked Twister and SkyHawk. A coaster that needs a test seat is Mine Ride, a tight squeeze that on is.
  17. According to RCDB, SFGAd already had a previously owned stand up for a short time. What was that situation about?
  18. Terpy, you sound like me at the park. I have lapped CP many of times between rides, sometimes up to an hour of walking.
  19. From main gate to Mean Streak, is just over a mile (that is just one way!). Use the CPLERR and Skyride at times get a rest and to cut off foot steps.
  20. Raptor, Dragster, MF, Mantis, Magnum, Woodstock, Maverick, and MS
  21. In Cleveland, we have Radio, TV and Billboards for CP, KW, Wildwater Kingdom, Idlewild and occasionally Waldameer.
  22. ^The Beast is normally slow in the morning, it takes a bit to get warmed up for the day.
  23. http://blog.cleveland.com/pdextra/2010/06/wooden_roller_coasters_offer_a.html Deserves a full read.
  24. http://espn.go.com/action/bmx/blog/_/post/5306357 How many times does one get to post articles about amusement parks from ESPN.
