  1. Ryan, do you care to explain how talking about Diamondback's design is 'off-topic' and people messing up BEAST1979's name for an entire page isn't? I had a lot of cleaning up to do... but it's finished now.
  2. The foul-mouth wish was played by a lady named Katie. You may remember her as Doris from the first year of School of Rock. To read an archived interview with her about School of Rock, click here.
  3. Mr. Cowpie's Scared Silly Show at Howl-O-Fest 2008 photos courtesy of Don Helbig
  4. This is an interesting one. Don Helbig sent me this phone. It's of the site that we now know of as the Diamondback construction site from exactly one year ago today.
  5. Yeah, epic bump. It was a good time!!
  6. Major rides and attraction as well as all Haunt attractions are open on Fridays. Nickelodeon Universe and Howl-o-Fest do NOT operate on Fridays. Order tickets online here.
  7. Knievel Day was hands down the best day I'd ever spent at the park. I also remember about having a heard attack when Wallenda was immediately over me on the 4th. Or doing a phone interview with Joyce Becker from Joyce Becker's Soap Opera Festival and she told me about one of the actors saying, "He's so adorable! You'd love him, he speaks Australian!" Overall I can say that this was certainly one of the most fun seasons I've ever had there.
  8. As many of you know, Kings Island's Diamondback will change the landscape of Rivertown. As part of that, the 230' steel monster will intrude on someone else's space... a Beast's space. That's right, part of Diamondback's track will be in the vacinity of where The Beast entrance is now so it will be gone after the park closes on November 2nd. Of course, this means that The Beast will have an ALL NEW entrance area for 2009. So make sure you bring your cameras the next few weekends and get shots of The Beast's entrance queue before the season ends because next time you see it, it will be changed... forever!!
  9. Howl-O-Fest is certainly something to see. If you haven't check it out yet, definitely do so. Do it this weekend!
  10. Latest from the desk of Don Helbig: Just a little tidbit from under the black hat. Season pass holders will be the FIRST to have the opportunity to experience the 230' steel monster.... but more on that later.
  11. And I agree with that....I'm not saying people can't post critcism....but Constructive criticism does a whole lot more than people just bashing and going "that sucked", or "that wasn't scary". There is a difference between Bashing/whining and being constructive...thats what I'm trying to get at. I agree, plus Club Blood is still immensely popular... even though it's no longer in its inaugural year. Clearly something's done right.
  12. I'd be shocked if it weren't Meanstreak retracking. Remember they showed a hole in the ground and said it would be new for 2008 and it turned out to be a new shed. Tony and Tyler aren't afraid to mess with you.
  13. Cash on hand would only be on paper. They're billions in debt. They can't refinance. This is going to hurt. To answer the question stated above, the stock is unlikely to go down to $0.00. Even in cases of bankruptcy the stock has some value. Enron, for example, is worth a few tenths of a penny right now. Having the stock have an exact zero dollar value is unlikely but it can get pretty close. Now there are plenty of other factors that could make you loose your stock. It's happened with the airline industry.
  14. Think in the millions.
  15. They could always do a 3:1 reverse split if it became necessary.
  16. Howl-O-Fest and Halloween Haunt are both free with park admission, so if you purchase a ticket on Saturday, you are welcome to enjoy both events. Fridays the park is only open from 7pm to 1am for Haunt and Sundays the park is open 11am to 7pm with Howl-O-Fest running 12pm-5pm.
  17. Definitely check out the show. I think you'll be overall impressed with it.
  18. Some of Club Blood's things are in Urgent Scare now.
  19. That song played right after Automatic's 'Monster' is 'Knights of Cydonia' by Muse, I believe. I know I heard it being played last year. And for the second question...Welcome to My Nightmare by Alice Cooper, right? At least, I think it's better than the original. EDIT: Check out Knott's Berry Farm's take on Club Blood: ^ Holy freakin crapola, that's killer. Welcome to My Nightmare by Alice Cooper is the song that the show begins and ends on. I agree that their version is better than the original, Cooper's version is very soft and cryptic and theirs is very pumped up.
  20. It certainly is a family location... except for Haunt, in which they do more than enough to warn people that it's for mature audiences. However they do have a family-friendly daytime Halloweeen celebration.
  21. Definitely see it again! Sometimes it's hard to really judge something when it was over hyped, under hyped, or you simply didn't know what to expect. I think for the second straight year, Dead Awakening is the cornerstone of Haunt. I went through Urgent Scare on the media preview night and was underwhelmed by it. However I've heard from a ton of credible people that the maze wasn't quite finished that night and they've added a lot to the experience. After the first weekend, there has been nothing short of stellar feedback on that maze. If you did it the first weekend, definitely check it out again!
  22. It's great to see that such a talented performer is getting recognized in his home state... Click Here to read the article.
  23. Another installment in the Diamondback construction saga courtesy of Don Helbig. More in the KICentral Photo Gallery.
  24. None of those photos were shot in Nickelodeon Universe. In Nick, I saw Nick characters walking around.
  25. They have an excellent set of flying scooters at that establishment.
