  1. The Columbus Blue Jackets are bringing the fun and excitement of the National Hockey League to Kings Island with the Blue Jackets Breakaway Tour. Blue Jackets Breakaway is a family experience that offers something for sports fans of all ages. The “hockey carnival” includes a border patrol rink for street hockey games, Blue Jackets inflatable’s, the “Huntington Hockey to Go” truck and a traveling team store that features the latest in official team merchandise. Representatives from the Blue Jackets Fan Development department, as well as potentially 2-3 players, will be in attendance for the event. Breakaway attendees can pick up a complimentary gift bag and have the opportunity to win prizes, including autographed memorabilia, game tickets, team merchandise and more. Free with park admission. August 23rd, 1-6pm
  2. Come Join Football Hall of Famers Darrell Green and Art Monk. Listen to each of these football greats describe their careers in the NFL. This is a great chance to ask them about their most memorable football moments! Once the program is over, guests will have the opportunity to support Darrell and Art’s charities by purchasing Route 281 merchandise to be autographed by these members of the NFL Hall of Fame. All profits from the sale of the merchandise will go to benefit Darrell Green’s Youth Life Foundation and the Good Samaritan Foundation. August 17th 1 & 3pm. Free with park admission.
  3. Well you do pay for your drinks with your ticket so its not free like they say. Exactly. Having free drinks, free parking and free sun screen from a park that charges $39.95 for admission when they really should be charging no more than $25 is the least they can do.
  4. Just a showboat of how Cedar Fair handed things differently than Six Flags did. Not the rain, but rather the fact that it was simply a jump behind a fence. When he jumped at Kings Island, it was an all day event with live music, boothes, a flashback to the 70s and more.
  5. Certain amenities are included in the $1,200/month price including such things as home phone and internet. There was some misconnunication or misunderstanding about these things. It was the workers' responsibility to call Cincinnati Bell to have these things installed. Most did it, some didn't. If you look at all of the living expenses that are added up, the $300 per month is right in the ballpark. This also included things such as transportation to and from Kings Island.
  6. The itinerary can be found under the KIC Day FAQ, but obviously some things will be moved around to accommodate for the newly added construction tour.
  7. The rent is a little expensive at $400 per person, but that's all inclusive. Word from under the black hat is that they have purchased a bus for them as well.
  8. KIC Day always makes me proud that people feel confortable bringing their friends and family to meet the other KIC members. I met some great people last year and can't wait to meet even more of you this year. It was a great time last year and will be an even better time this year!
  9. ....or that it was done for $3.8 million dollars (1979 money), a feat that would likely cost well over $20 million today even with the new technology.
  10. The KICentral Event at Kings Island is scheduled for August 16th, 2008 and will certainly be one of the most memorable days of the season for all of those who attend, but just to add some icing to the cake, KICentral and Kings Island are excited to add a late addition to the itinerary. “It’s big, it’s steel and it’s coming” and “think big… think real big” are some of the only clues we have about the apparent new steel roller coaster being added to Kings Island’s lineup for the 2008 season. By the time the KICentral Event rolls around, most details will have been revealed and this will be your opportunity to be one of the first groups to see the construction up close and personal as a 2009 project construction tour has been added to the itinerary of the KICentral Event! Other activities scheduled for the day include a scavenger hunt, Son of Beast behind the scenes tour, ERTs on Invertigo and The Racer, unlimited soft drinks all day, an all you can eat buffet in the picnic grove, a Q&A session with some cast members of Flashback: Totally 80s and much more! Tickets to the event can be purchased by clicking here. EVERYONE is welcome to attend, but you must have a ticket in order to participate in any of the events. HURRY tickets will no longer be available after this Monday, August 4th! Speaking of the construction, vertical supports have be put in place in the area which once housed Swan Lake. Click here to see the latest photos. Regards, Ryan
  11. Ok, I've talked to many very reliable sources at Kings Island and found out that there is absolutely no talk what so ever about renaming ANY rides in Nickelodeon Universe. So what these shirts are for remains to be seen...
  12. I actually remember hearing the buzz about the new names, primarily from merch associates, right around this time of year last year.
  13. The area behind Son of Beast in which land is being "borrowed" has sat vacant for a very long time. It has been nothing more than a grassy field since the early 1990s when the Monorail was removed. There are still a LOT of remnants of the old Lion Country Safari throughout that area of the park, but most can't be seen from the midways. Most of them are way off towards the Great Wolf Lodge. If you go up in the Eiffel Tower and look behind Son of Beast you can still see a lot of random buildings, silos and shacks, but most are in pretty bad condition and the ones in good condition are used for storage.
  14. Just talked to Don Helbig and he said he'd give a prize to the first person who call tell him how many rides he has on The Racer on KIC Day.
  15. Interp is right, it's been posted already. I will however leave you with this quote from the article: Closing...
  16. Click here to see an excellent Fox45 story about waterpark safety. Talks about the training that Boomerang Bay lifeguards go through.
  17. Nah, just put the state you live in... or any state for that matter. I always send messages out to all regions. The reason why they have the region options is for bands on tour, for example, because people in Ohio typically won't want to be bothered with messages about their favorite band playing in New Mexico.
  18. The Vortex is not being torn down.
  19. The Mystery Construction continues at Swan Lake and in addition to the photos supplied from Nemo, high in the sky, we have added photos of track from the ground as well what seems to be fencing for the ride structure itself. http://www.KICentral.com/photos/thumbnails...astup&cat=0
  20. There's a good chance that it will be hot, so dress accordingly... Of course you'll be in good shape with those unlimited drink wrist bands.
  21. Yeah, the price was originally going to be $29.99 for passholders and more for people who needed admission tickets, but we decided just do $29.99 over all.
  22. Heh... just get a Blackberry. That way anyone can get ahold of you at any time... in about 7 ways. lol
  23. 8:30am -- I'd get there as early as possible. Registration begins at 8:30 when the tolls open and the Invertigo ERT is at 9:00.
  24. Of course you can. All we ask is that they register on the forums of KICentral. It only takes a second and registering on KIC is 100% FREE! Do they need to be a registered member before I purchase the tickets? I just want to get the tickets as soon as possible before the event sells out. Sorry for all the questions, but I'm still kinda new around here. I'm excited to get to meet some of you at the event. Thanks, Mark Buy your tickets as early as possible. Ask them register just as a courtesy to both KIC and Kings Island. By all means ask as many questions as you can. Someone else may be thinking what you're asking.
