I think it's undeniable that there's a coaster coming in 09, but beyond that I think that cats is very much still in the bag.

Swan Lake will not be around in 2008.

Closing because we know this rumor isn't true....

Talks about new ride names, Racer, and maybe something else that you may be interested in.... http://www.wlwt.com/video_legacy/15903956/index.html

If you go opening day, you can still enjoy the Train, Eiffel Tower, Carousel, and see County Line. It may not seem like a lot, but at least it's an excuse to go out there.

Actually Boddah, regardless of whether its a logo or not we are entitled to have an opinion on it, no matter how minor of a subject it may be. Back in the day, Kings Island was all about quality and the details in things, those times went and now the park has a new marketing front about bringing back "nostalgia." and frankly no one seems to be buying it. The logo is a perfect example. No, I have not seen it in person and admitted that, however like I said, judging from the picture it looks awkward and weird on the front of the train. In recent years there was nothing there? Actually, last season was the only time nothing was there, every year leading up to that there had been the decals on the front of the trains that said "Paramount." If the park was really concerned with nostalgia, then why is The Racer the only thing getting some of that "nostalgia?" Why not paint the ride? It hasn't received a fresh coat of paint since 1998. I'm sorry, but I'm just not buying the spin on this one. Maple, Just because it wasn't painted this year doesn't mean it'll never be painted.

That wasn't directed towards you, or any one person for that matter. I just see attacking every little thing about The Racer with the "nostalgia" card as being like walking into a Johnny Rockets with a history book and pointing out the discrepancies. Six shows is a VERY expensive venture. It shows Cedar Fair's commitment to the park... especially by doing things like adding a new stage to the Festhaus. That's a very good mentality to have. I encourage everyone to be cautiously optimistic about Kings Island. What's in the future of the park? I don't know... I suppose no one really does. However we do have a company that has a clear commitment to making it a better place. We appreciate you posting here. I realize that I may come off as a corporate cheerleader for Cedar Fair, but you have to understand that I have a responsibility to both the company and our forum users. I simply convey the message and give the users here the product of conversation. There are things that I love about that company and things that I hate, but it's just not my place on these forums to be overly negative. Cedar Fair hears about my gripes directly, don't get me wrong, but being the pseudo-spokesperson for Kings Island's fan base, it would be extraordinarily cavalier to convey something of that sort. That's the catch 22... you just won't win. They had the metallic lettering in the 70s and had nothing recently, now they have this new logo. Had they done the "nostalgic" thing and added the old lettering, people would have said it was boring, and they added the logo and you guys haven't even seen it in person and we're getting complaints that it "doesn't complement the train". I mean really... It's not like it's a purse that doesn't match the shoes... it's a freaking logo on a train. On top of that, in recent years there was NOTHING there. Love or hate the logo, having something there now is better than nothing. Why don't you see the logo for yourself before you decide whether or not it "complements the train"?

I just don't see why he didn't take his voucher and put it in a locked box in a safe in a Swiss bank like the rest of us.

Landscaping has actually worked very hard this season to beautify the park. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

The line from a Hank Williams Jr song comes to mind, "You're the only one that you are screwin' when you put down what you don't understand." Ok... maybe that's a little extreme. Endless Summer on Ice will certainly be the highlight of the entertainment lineup this year until something dead is awoken again in the post season. Just give the other shows a chance. They have a great great great entertainment lineup this year, coming from an even better entertainment department.

darn Cedar Fair for offering you a free jacket you just threw away! Can you believe that suck-a$$ company for making you lose your free voucher? And on a lighter note.... deerhunter and the rest of the members at Theme Park Review also blame global warming, potholes, and acne on Cedar Fair as well. darn that company sucks! You know what I hate about Cedar Fair? The cleaner park, the better season pass offerings, the six live shows, and Firehawk. Bring back Paramount!

No complaints here! Although when you think about it, it would make sense from a business perspective to charge admission for HH. The park has to stay open very late, and aren't most/all of the shops and eateries closed during those late hours? So if people get in for free on their passes, and aren't spending any money, then HH might not be very profitable. This is just speculation of course; I might have no idea what I'm talking about I was told that non pass holders were complaining about GP holders flooding the park...but I responded by telling them wait until you hear from the GP holders when they find out...I assume the villagers stormed the castle with torches and pitchforks..lol Yes and no. Cedar Fair saw how incredibly successful the month of October was for the entire chain, especially in parks where the Halloween program was free with a season pass. It came down to a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" situation. Cedar Fair's theory with the upcharge was that fewer people would visit the park, so the one who were there would have an enhanced experience by having smaller crowds and shorter lines. Instead they have decided to the initiative that a larger diversification will disburse larger crowds in a manner similar to having an upcharge. Translation: Halloween Haunt will be bigger, badder, and far more evil this year with more to do. That way, the crowds will be more spread out and guests can experience more. Details in the coming months.

They warned you over and over again to keep the vouchers in a safe place so that they could be redeemed in the Spring of 08. I'm not sure how Cedar Fair is responsible for you misplacing your voucher.
-
Exactly. Don't forget that last year's sign was physically larger since it included the Paramount logo for many years. All they did was remove the logo last year which left the "Kings Island" portion close to the ground.

As you enter the park, you are welcomed by a beautiful 1/3 scale replica of the Eiffel Tower as well as an enormous fountain display. In the foreground, one of the most photogenic sites the park has to offer: the official Kings Island logo. Many old things are becoming new again at Kings Island this year, and this is no exception. What once held the Paramount moniker is gone, and has been replaced by the official new Kings Island logo. Click below to check it out: http://www.KICentral.com/photos/displayimage.php?pos=-5403

Quit flip flip flipping this around to make it sound like something new.

"They ain't adding anything... the park is left out in the cold while other parks get something new..." You honestly think that there's NOTHING new and exciting for ride fans this year? Geeze, maybe something old will become new again for another ride? Maybe they'll be able to crack open the crypt of old rides and find out what can be one thing one year can be TOTALLY different the next.

Okay, I have my pass now. There were plenty of people working, and I think I was out with my pass within 2 minutes. I see that the above article has been fixed to show the 6pm weekend time now (not that there's another weekend to pre-process left). Thanks a bunch to everyone to wrote back and clarified the weekend time (not that it mattered too much, i'll be making the drive plenty of times...heh) I'll see you all there sunday! As you stated, there was an error on my part for posting the wrong time. I apologize for the inconvenience that may have caused you. The link below is the official announcement on it: http://www.visitkingsisland.com/events/eve...64&ec_id=15

That really hasn't been an issue since Cedar Fair took over. They open the park about two weeks later than Paramount did (sometimes) and many times it was too cold to run a lot of the rides.

Any time the park opens later April like this, it typically draws a large crowd. Fortunately it's usually not so large that it hinders your experience. Cinnabon will be open before they drop the ropes, but that's the only shop or eatery that's typically scheduled to open before 10am.
