TOTALLY true... especially at KI. I know a lot of people who work there and show up there a lot and always find people to hang out with. Easily amused, I suppose...

Unless your camera is out during the time of the jump, I don't see it being much of a problem.

Yep. It gives you quite an illusion when the parking lot is almost completely empty yet you go inside and it's a madhouse. I still had fun today.

This is a recreation of the one before Evel Knievel's jump, not the nightly air show.
-
Hmmm.... I don't have an answer to that one. My GUESS is that they're online only, but I don't know that for sure. It'd be well worth asking at GR when they get there. Make sure to let them know to purchase them soon, tickets are going fast!!!

Should the Clown Band Come Back to Kings Island for Good?
BoddaH1994 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in KI Polls
It was an old roaming entertainment piece that Paramount squashed when they took over. It consists of... well... clowns. They play instruments. That's really all I remember. I was so young. -
Word on the street is that the anticipated crowds for May 24th will be rather manageable. Many people are expected to show up in the few hours leading up to the event at 7pm. So feel free to enjoy the park that day and make sure you get to your seats early to see Kaptain Knievel do his thing!!
-
The fine details of the entertainment lineup will be released within the next few days.
-
Probably not on the 24th... but in the future... well... let's just live in the now...
-
I don't think the trams are even in working order....
-
Word from under the black hat is that the air show which will be before the Knievel jump will be a similar recreation of the air show before his father's jump. This will feature flyovers, acrobatics, parachuters, etc. Don't miss it!
-
Please be advised that the hours of operation for Boomerang Bay Waterpark Resort will be 11am to 6pm on May 24th in order for everyone to get to the Knievel jump site on that day.
-
He's right. Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle is located on International Street, not in Nick Universe.
-
Since a lot of people are excited about the return of the Clown Band as a one time thing at the Knievel jump, I was wondering if you felt as though the Clown Band should return to being a permanent fixture at Kings Island. Feel free to comment and add suggestions for other roaming entertainment.

You might want to wait until things are solidified for whatever they're doing for Independence Day before purchasing tickets. Last year they did it on July 3rd and some people went to the park on the 4th thinking that they'd do it that day. In the past, they had done several "Nights of Fire" which usually lasted up from Independence Day through the weekend, or the weekend through Independence Day, whichever was shorter. I have no details right now as to how Kings Island will be celebrating this year, if at all. Details to come, I'm sure....

In what may be the most eventful day at Kings Island in years, May 24th, 2008 will certainly be the "must be there" day of the season at the park. Kaptain Robbie Knievel will be jumping 24 Coke Zero trucks in Kings Island's parking lot, which is a feat that will surpass his father's legendary jump 33 years ago. Knievel's father, Evil Knievel, jumped 14 Greyhound buses in Kings Island's parking lot 1975. The events don't stop there. In honor of Knievel's jump, Kings Island will host many pre-jump activities including the one-time return of the Clown Band, the return of many characters from the Happy Land of Hanna-Barbera, who will be in front of the Kings Island Theatre throughout the day to pose for photos and give out hugs to their biggest fans, an extended fireworks display at 10pm, an amazing flyover air show, and a performance by the Mason Jump Rope Team. Other acts slated to appear include the Goshorn Brothers, 3 Degrees, Kristen Key, Marsha Brady, Catch 22, Johnny Combs and Dallas Moore. This event is FREE with park admission and to season pass holders, however you can get the best seats in the house by purchasing VIP seats in the grandstand.
