Yes -- please don't like to any videos of the Knievel jump. Robbie asks that his events only be video taped by those who have permission to do so, and I'm not sure how the legalities would work out with people linking on the site. However... and I guess you could say this is an announcement.. KICentral was able to obtain permission to post video tape and post the jump! I'm working diligently on bringing you guys some of my best work yet! Keep checking the site, I intend to have it finished and uploaded within a day or so!

Mark in your textbooks that May 24th, 2008, was a day that history was made and history was relived at Kings Island. The park took you on a flashback to 1975 and featured music, television shows, costumes, cartoon characters and even The Hussle… just like the 1970s! If anyone mentions Kings Island and 1975 in the same sentence, one can’t help but think of Evel Knievel’s attempt to jump 14 Greyhound buses on his motorcycle in the parking lot at Kings Island. Of course, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, and there was a man named Knievel at Kings Island that day. It wasn’t the late Evel Knievel but his legendary son, Kaptain Robbie Knievel, who made history in front of thousands of spectators by jumping 24 Coke Zero trucks in Kings Island’s parking lot! Thousands of fans watch in awe, excitement and sympathetic fear as Kaptain Robbie Knievel attempted to outdo his father by jumping the largest gap of his career that spanned a distance of over 200ft! This incredible spectacle featured sky jumpers, amazing pyrotechnics, live acts, and of course a record breaking motorcycle jump. The flashback didn’t stop there! Fans were promised the nostalgic return of some of their favorite Hanna Barbera characters and they got it to a much larger extent than they had ever imagined! Entering the midway near the Kings Island Theatre, guests were greeted by a plethora of performers sporting Polaroid cameras, puffy dresses and Evel Knievel jump suits. To set the mood, the area sported a DJ who played hits from some ‘new and upcoming artists’ such as Earth, Wind and Fire. It wasn’t long before “The Hustle” came on the radio and every performer, character and 1970s enthusiast joined in on the dance. For everyone who remembered the 1970s as well as everyone who was seeing it for the very first time, this was certainly a unique experience not to be forgotten. Click here to see photos of Robbie Knievel’s jump as well as other events from May 24th 2008 at Kings Island! Excellent work!

Unfortunately the VIP Grand Stand Seating is sold out.

Oddly enough, my home phone number is very similar to a nursing home up the street as well as my dad's church's phone number (ironically) so we get calls for them almost every day.

Everyone have fun at the jump. Remember that you are very literally seeing history in the making. It's not about records or distances necessarily, but rather seeing a legend, who is the worthy son of a legend do something that hasn't been done before. This may be your last opportunity to see a Knievel do anything of this sort, so if you're still on the fence, I highly recommend coming out!!

Just be thankful that you've got this exemption. In KY, it's a 6% sales tax whether you eat in or not.

I was kinda in aww that the man that wrote the book in KI did not know who the Kings of Komedy were? In his defense, the Kings of Komedy left long before he moved to this part of the country. Plus his book was more of a guidebook than a history book (though one could argue that it's a history book now).

That actually is something... refunding the amount for a season pass, used or unused, is strictly against park policy.
-
Not food, at least. I distinctly remember CInnabon and the Festhaus menus having "Prices are before taxes" posted on them.
-
Walking from the Gold Pass Lot really isn't that much farther than the premium parking.
-
Standard sales taxes apply to all of the food vendors at Kings Island.
-
....maybe he was afraid you guys forgot?

Q: What's the difference between a Harley and a Hoover? A: Where you put the dirt bag. Sorry, I had to. That was Dane's line.
-
Almost any disabled person would let you go to the front for them if they had the ability to stand in line for you.

There's a lot to do at KI with a 4 year old. I'm sure you've heard that Kings Island won the Golden Ticket Award for having the greatest kids area in the world yet again. There's also 6 live shows, shopping, etc. Some things that may be of interest to you: (from the park map) Parent Swap: One parent of a small child waits in line, both ride! For more information or to obtain a Parent Swap Pass, please visit Guest Relations. Kid Track: Kings Island offers a service to quickly reunite separated children and parents with cell phones. Please sign up for the service at Guest Relations, Baby Care, or Boomerang Bay Guest Relations. Basically with Kid Track, the people at GR put your cell phone number on a wrist band so if your 4 year old gets lost, any park official can contact you immediately. It's a great service for someone so young.

I haven't seen Drew yet, but Josh is always a guaranteed good performance.

I think it's somewhere near 200ft due to how close it is to the airport.
